Well, just finished the captioning test for Rev, I somehow thought this might be easier than transcribing??! We shall see...

Must get going on the UHRS, everyone seems to be doing well on that.

You haven't been kicked off @Boobahs. I've noticed it says there's no more work when it gets down to about 200 hits. I think it might be to allow time for the system to filter through and catch up with itself. I don't know for sure though. Every now again if you log back in, it will let you do 1 or 2 more before saying there is no more work again.

Ah ok, thanks. It's saying 402 but like you say it might need time to refresh. I'll have another look later when the kids are in bed

@rhij86 I was totally confused and decided I didn't like it, after waiting all this time, then I realised (after reading my email again ) that the practice batch is just showing you examples of what good work looks like. You need to look at them, save them, and then you can submit the batch.

Hmm, I've just had that email too @TheLolaMontez saying they cannot disclose the reason.

Can anyone tell me which Appen project you're talking about, as I got accepted onto one of the M**w projects and haven't heard anything from them yet? Obviously, if you don't want to say on here I understand.

@catatemyhomework I’ve not had an email either but I can guess it’s an project I’m meant to be on from the chat room. Fingers crossed an email turns up soon. Or not.

Thanks @MrsWombat, I think I know which project it is now and I definitely got accepted for it. Oh well, I've only been 3 months on the Appen waiting list. I'm sure something will come up eventually!

Yes it is the med tx one that has work but from what I gather initially it is just a 1 batch trial so you may get an email later, perhaps they are doing it in stages @Catatemyhomework @MrsWombat

Just submitted my first batch on M**w, was expecting 20 like the practice - not 160! It went quite quick once I got into it but will see what the feedback is..

@Buster27 how did you find it? I'm still re-reading the guidelines. Not sure if I am over thinking it but seems complicated with the time stamps. How long did it take you?

@anxiouswaiting found it quite confusing to begin with and I was going veeery slow, but as I went on it made more sense and I think it was a decent speed by the end. I spent about 2.5 hours on it but I'm sure it would be much faster if I did another batch now as I spent a lot of time faffing with guidelines and things at the beginning. Of course they may come back and tell me I made a mess of it anyway but if not I'd give another batch a go.

Welcome @xconfusedx the very first post of this thread is a good place to start- you can follow all the links from there.

Q about Appen- everything I've applied for says in progress and I will be contacted if they are inviting me to complete the qualification process. Does this mean I'm on a waiting list as all projects are fully resourced? I have 6 in progress as I didn't want to take too much on but maybe I should just apply for everything I am capable of doing and sit back and wait.

Duchess Minnie - yes it's a waiting list of sorts although you may never come to the top of it. I would apply for as many as possible. Most of them won't come off and you aren't obliged to complete the tests or work them if you don't want to.

@xconfusedx If you have a CV ready then:
Crisp Thinking - There is a fairly easy test, but you need to get 19/20, although you can take it many times. The only things I can suggest is write the questions and answers down as you do them so if you need to do it again you can try and figure out where you went wrong. There is more than one answer on a lot of the questions. You then join a very long waiting list. I've been on it since May but apparently it's worth the wait.

Then Appen. It will take a few days to get everything set up then apply for every project going. Nile and Truckee are awesome but sign up for everything and hope you get something!

If you don't have a CV then get a basic one set up over the next couple of weeks. I think they just want to know you are a real human so don't worry about it too much. In the meantime sign up for these two today:

Prolific - lots of well paying surveys. Have the browser open on your computer whilst you are doing other stuff as they pop up all the time.

Clickworker. They often have good-paying surveys but there is also a UHRS project going at the moment which some people are getting on well with. On the black menu bar at the top go to assessments and take UHRS I.

uTest If you think you might like website and software testing then take a look at this one too. I've made some decent pin money from this over the past couple of weeks, but apparently it can turn into a full time job paying £20k a year if it's your thing. The better you are the more/better paying jobs you get invited to do.
