Let's top up our bank balances for Christmas! It's the October earn £10 a day thread

Otterses · 01/10/2019 06:57

Saw a few newcomers place marking on the previous thread, so a big welcome to them Smile

Christmas is just around the corner, and I'm sure we all could do with the extra earnings to pay for Christmas and keep us out of the January slump.

I'll copy and paste the first post of the previous thread as soon as I'm at a computer.

Has anyone got any targets in mind? I'm aiming for £20 a day, then hopefully £200 or so of 'extras'.

Sorry about Nile ending Otterses. There do seem to have been a few new ones pop up so hopefully it won't be long before you get a new one.

Am struggling with Dorian training as I'm sure the examples don't always follow their guidelines. I'm getting lots wrong still so I don't know if it is even worth getting to the test.

CatHopeful · 09/10/2019 08:20

justtheonethen - thank you, but grrr, that is a bit annoying. There's a little column for it and everything! I haven't really done any regular queue work since having shift access. Am trying to figure out what sort of timing works for me.

Appen have sent me through the next bits for Niffler, so I need to have a look at those.

Moremoneyplease · 09/10/2019 08:32

@Otterses Sorry about Nile, fingers crossed something else comes up. Like others, I'm very grateful to you for starting this thread and telling me about these opportunities that I had no idea existed!

CatHopeful · 09/10/2019 08:42

Otterses that's a large amount to suddenly lose :( You definitely deserve something else to come up as good karma for all the information you've shared here.

So I've had a look at the stuff Appen sent me - it was nothing too exciting, just final confirmation they've accepted me as a contractor, a link the FAQs for Niffler and a reminder to set up Payoneer, which I've done and connected to my bank account. It doesn't look like Niffler has actually started yet, unless I'm missing something.

Is anyone doing the Peppermint Project on Appen?

SNISR · 09/10/2019 09:22

I'm so sorry about the project coming to an end @Otterses I'm sure lots more opportunities will come your way.

How are you getting on with brainsfeed?

SNISR · 09/10/2019 09:24

I've been on the crisp waiting list since August and wanted to reapply for crisp again using a different email address. I got 20 last time but can't get past 18 this time 😅🤦🏽‍♀️
Does anyone have the answers?

Frenchdoors1 · 09/10/2019 09:35

@SNISR
Same here if I was to attempt it again. I got 19 a few days ago after loads of attempts.

Hope you get another great big earner Otterses you certainly deserve it.

SNISR · 09/10/2019 09:43

I need to screenshot all my attempts for future reference 😅 @Frenchdoors1

rhij86 · 09/10/2019 10:10

@SNISR I found the ones I was going wrong was where the post mentioned activist work I was either selecting activists or threats of violence/damage but not both. Once I selected both I passed.
Hope this helps!

SNISR · 09/10/2019 11:04

Thank you @rhij86 😊

DontCallMeDarling · 09/10/2019 11:50

@GachaBread

How is chat from home going? I am thinking about applying but interested to know how you are getting on with it first. Still have my fingers crossed that something else will show up but luck does not seem to be on my side!

Tohaveandtohold · 09/10/2019 11:53

@Otterses, so sorry to hear about Nile coming to an end. You’re so resourceful so I’m sure something will come up for you soon.
I’ve passed crisp again using my original email address, I just hope I hear from them. I’m back at work now from maternity leave but then as I’m paying for childcare, an extra source of income would be nice!

Bemystarlord · 09/10/2019 12:19

Oh no @Otterses im sorry to hear about Nile, that sucks :( but hopefully it will all work out for the best and you’ll have a fresh new project thats even better 🤞🤞

MrsWombat · 09/10/2019 12:48

@Otterses Sorry to hear about Nile. i will be gutted when Truckee bites the dust. They might just chuck everyone out after a year or so, so anyone who is currently on it might be ok for a while. I know Lionbridge did that. Hopefully a better project will come along. It might bump you up the waiting list for some of the other ones.

holdtheladdersteady · 09/10/2019 12:59

Anyone else doing mystery shopping with mystery-shoppers.co.uk? I'm doing 2 jobs over the next couple of days. Seems quite straightforward so far.

rhij86 · 09/10/2019 13:07

@holdtheladdersteady I've done one with them last week (approved, awaiting payment) and due to do another next week :)

Moremoneyplease · 09/10/2019 13:09

@holdtheladdersteady I did one for Macmillan yesterday and another financial phone one later today. Yesterday was my first one but hopefully payment will go through smoothly!

MrsWombat · 09/10/2019 13:11

I've just been accepted within 5 mins on the Bane Curation project on Appen!!! Something to do with search engine results. It's $14 an hour so hopefully a similar system to Truckee.

rhij86 · 09/10/2019 13:31

@mrswombat I had the same this morning, it says work should come through via email in the next few days... really hope so! Keeping my fingerss crossed for something steady. Have you applied for peppermint as well?

MrsWombat · 09/10/2019 13:36

@rhij86 Yes I applied to Peppermint too. Not heard anything. I'm guessing it's similar to a certain image based Clickworker project. Grin

rhij86 · 09/10/2019 13:37

@MrsWombat haha yes I thought (and was hoping!) the same!!

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 09/10/2019 13:52

Sorry to hear about Nile. I've heard that they don't keep anyone on it longer than 18 months at most. I'm on 10 months at the moment.

I've been accepted for Bane and Niff...too so hope i get something out of it. I've been accepted on projects before that never go anywhere!

I hope i get Peppermint too, it sounds like a project i did on clickworker.

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 09/10/2019 13:53

haha, i missed the last 2 posts, i guess you thought the same!

GachaBread · 09/10/2019 13:55

@ holdtheladdersteady yes I've been with them for around a year. Done loads of fundraiser and train station jobs. Easy money. Never had a problem with them.

Regarding the chat from home job I fell asleep again as I waited and waited and the agent didn't appear until 3am asking on Skype if i was available so they have said they will have to not proceed with me. Pisstakers!!!! Cloudworkers I am still waiting for, and loads others I am waiting for. I will stick with my mystery shoppers stuff for the moment as I do make good money with them.

Crisp is the one I want.

In other news have you heard somebody won the euros 169 million in the UK. I'm so jealous. Wish it was me lol

GachaBread · 09/10/2019 13:59

@DontCallMeDarling they want to talk at stupid times due to their time zones. I've got five bloody kids, how can you expect to verify identification and do a interview at them times. Maybe you will have better luck then me. Do let me know how you get on. Was looking forward to seeing what it was all about as well but oh well
