Let's top up our bank balances for Christmas! It's the October earn £10 a day thread

Saw a few newcomers place marking on the previous thread, so a big welcome to them Smile

Christmas is just around the corner, and I'm sure we all could do with the extra earnings to pay for Christmas and keep us out of the January slump.

I'll copy and paste the first post of the previous thread as soon as I'm at a computer.

Has anyone got any targets in mind? I'm aiming for £20 a day, then hopefully £200 or so of 'extras'.

Congratulations @Bemystarlord. I’ve also been waiting since May and reapplied last week using a different email but not heard back. I’ll try again using the same email as I really need it now

MrsWombat · 08/10/2019 17:32

I've just emailed my local council and asked about being a Polling Station Clerk. I did it a few years ago when I worked for them, but I know they take people from outside too. It's good money. My other half will take annual leave to sort the kids out if I get the gig. There's going to be a general election sooner rather than later and that's when they need the most staff.

Congratulations to all the new Crispers! Their hiring schedule is completely random (at least to outsiders) - I passed the first online test in May and began work at the end of June.

For those more experienced Crisp workers, at what point does your shift income get added to the dashboard tally? It's all there and accounted for in Humanity, so no worries there, but an at a glance tally is always useful.

Moremoneyplease · 08/10/2019 18:56

Thanks @Wolfff I have FB and IG so I'll keep my fingers crossed then.

@MrsWombat Great idea! I'll investigate my local council.

Another idea I just thought of which may have already been mentioned - I've worked in both schools and universities and we got lots of outside people in for exam invigilating. We used to get the same people coming back year after year and the money wasn't too bad (especially for the universities).

Wolfff · 08/10/2019 19:30

@Frenchdoors1

Believe me Instagram and Facebook are not difficult at all. Instagram is just photos mainly, I mainly follow Art, Museum, animal, vegan and feminist sites and a little bit of just fun stuff like memes. As well as accounts belonging to relatives and a few friends.

Facebook is mainly my family and a couple of local groups.

You just need to be familiar with it for Appen purposes. I think the chances of being hired on Appen are really quite low without it.

Frenchdoors1 · 08/10/2019 20:14

@Wolfff
Ahh, thank you for your helpful information. I will have a think then. Smile

justtheonethen · 08/10/2019 21:05

Oh @CatHopeful it doesn't. Which is annoying!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 08/10/2019 21:14

Well Ive done an website test on respondent which will hopefully pay 20$ and sold a few bits on ebay so thats a good start. Clickworkers had an app test for clash of clans but i couldnt get the install to work. Other than that still nothing on there.

readyforchangenow · 08/10/2019 21:23

Hello I'm new to this and new to the thread. Can anyone explain what you have to do with Crisp and Cloudworkers? I've had a look at their websites but it isn't very clear what the actual roles are. Thanks

justtheonethen · 08/10/2019 21:30

@readyforchangenow crisp is risk analysis of social media content- assessing if a post has any potential to damage a brand, you tag any customer service/pr issues etc. Cloudworkers is sexy chat- I don't do it so can't tell you much.

LeaderoftheAteam · 08/10/2019 21:36

Still on £0!! How do people sell anything on bloody ebay? Put loads of dresses and baby stuff on and yet nothings sold 😢

Frenchdoors1 · 08/10/2019 21:48

@LeaderoftheAteam
How long have your items thst you're selling been on for?
If you give it at least 7-8 wks and nothing has sold then you could reduce them.

Applelove · 08/10/2019 21:52

@justtheonethen thank you. Do I register as a freelance? What qualifications do they need? TIA Smile

Fizbo · 08/10/2019 22:28

I've reapplied for Crisp, got 19/20 first applied in May and desperate to get on it so I can ditch Cloudworkers. Have an Appen project too but the more money that seems to come in the more goes out! Well done to all the new Crispers I hope to join you soon 🤞🏻

justtheonethen · 09/10/2019 00:10

@Applelove for crisp you just need to get on the waiting list by passing their test. Not sure about cloudworkers.

Otterses · 09/10/2019 05:09
Sad

I take it everyone has had the email about Nile coming to an end?

OP posts:
margaritasbythesea · 09/10/2019 06:55

Oh no Otterses! I haven't had it but that is terrible news. Im gutted.

Wolfff · 09/10/2019 07:02

@Otterses

So sorry to hear this, especially as you have been so helpful and encouraging for others to work on Appen.

There are a couple of new projects on there, hope they take the fact you have worked reliable for a long while into consideration.

Otterses · 09/10/2019 07:22

Oh, it was a lovely message to me fair. They've had enough data from me, and I've got till the 14th to continue my 'high standard' of work before I'm off Nile.

I think it may be a blessing in disguise. It'll give me more time to explore clickworker and Brainsfeed.

I think this is more of a cautionary tale about having multiple income streams now Grin

OP posts:
rhij86 · 09/10/2019 07:23

@Otterses oh no, I take it Nile was a good earner then? I've seen a few crop up in the last couple of days that seem decent hourly rates - hopefully they are long term and you can get onto one of those.

justtheonethen · 09/10/2019 07:25

Oh no....I've only just started Nile....I've got one plans for that money Shock

Fizbo · 09/10/2019 07:38

@Otterses how long were you on it? I had my renewal email for Truckee last month for 6 months but getting nervous now 😬

Otterses · 09/10/2019 07:41

@rhij86

Nile was around £300 a month for me, so a decent and reliable side hustle. But you know, it's 45 minutes a day I can spend on something else Smile I'm trying to think of this as the push I need to explore other options.

I'm really sorry if I've inspired panic! It's hopefully just me.

OP posts:
Otterses · 09/10/2019 07:41

@Fizbo about 14 months 😂 so I really can't complain!

OP posts:
margaritasbythesea · 09/10/2019 07:42

Otterses - I'm sorry about Nile, especially as I am so grateful to you for putting me and others onto it. U think you're taking in the right way though. Much as I know Nile can come to an end at any time, it being there does make me less likely to investigate other things. Im going to look at Cambly today so i hopefully feel more prepared when the email comes for me. They don't give you much blooming notice, do they?
