Let's top up our bank balances for Christmas! It's the October earn £10 a day thread

Saw a few newcomers place marking on the previous thread, so a big welcome to them Smile

Christmas is just around the corner, and I'm sure we all could do with the extra earnings to pay for Christmas and keep us out of the January slump.

I'll copy and paste the first post of the previous thread as soon as I'm at a computer.

Has anyone got any targets in mind? I'm aiming for £20 a day, then hopefully £200 or so of 'extras'.

If anyone wants to check out Clickworkers, my referral code is www.clickworker.com/en/clickworker?utm_source=2855075&utm_campaign=CW4CW&utm_medium=email

It seems to be quite well paid (as long as the money actually ends up in my account!)

Bemystarlord · 08/10/2019 14:23

Woohoo finally heard from crisp after originally applying back in May!! Must not mess this up 😬 all tips very welcome

Frenchdoors1 · 08/10/2019 14:29

@Moremoneyplease
Have you put your PayPal details in? I was paid some of the money last week and was sent a message saying did I want it changing from Euros to pounds, so I clicked yes and the money went into my PayPal account.

Frenchdoors1 · 08/10/2019 14:31

@Moremoneyplease
There are different dates when you are due a payment, that's why I only got some of the payment.

kissmewherethesundontshine · 08/10/2019 14:31

Place marking to read when I get home, sounds very interesting!

TheLolaMontez · 08/10/2019 14:36

Omg @Bemystarlord congratulations!!! GrinGrin Still waiting here... (off to check emails...)

DontCallMeDarling · 08/10/2019 14:50

Congrats @bemystarlord! So pleased for you and gives the rest of us who have waited many many months some hope. Good luck!

Bemystarlord · 08/10/2019 15:13

@TheLolaMontez i applied again last week with same email so wondering if that is why?

@Dontcallmedarling thank you :)

Frenchdoors1 · 08/10/2019 15:14

Yes, congratulations @bemystarlord
We will all get there eventually.

I've just been reading the FAQ on the appen website and I didn't know that you had to take a 3 part exam before you can work for them....

Well done @Elmosonfire! I'm nervous to use the live system too, but will also be taking it slow to begin with. Fully prepared to earn peanuts to begin with Grin

Great news @Onehellofaride and @Bemystarlord! The only advice I can offer is to read the training thoroughly, keep a tally and note of time started, try not to panic/rush and I think @elmosonfire's suggestion of printing the slides is a great idea (I was flicking between tabs on my computer, would have been much easier if they were printed I think). Oh and have a good look at the slides that show you what the system looks like so you have an idea of what to expect for the test. I'm sure others will have given good advice in earlier threads too. Good luck to you both!

Bemystarlord · 08/10/2019 15:18

@buster27 thanks so much. Going to wait until tomorrow when i have a clear day to have a look at it all properly :)

Moremoneyplease · 08/10/2019 15:47

@Frenchdoors1 I didn't know that either! I wonder if that's why I haven't been accepted on anything on Appen? How do you take the tests?

I've just looked and my PayPal details are on my Clickworker account. I've messaged them so hopefully will hear back.

Moremoneyplease · 08/10/2019 15:51

I just completed my first mystery shopper job! Talking to a Macmillan fundraiser outside my local Tesco. It was quite stressful trying to take a photo of her without being seen but hopefully the one I took was ok. I was going in there anyway so an extra £12.50 (if it gets accepted) will be a bonus.

TheLolaMontez · 08/10/2019 16:16

I've just redone the crisp test and got 20/20
Please want meeeeee

rhij86 · 08/10/2019 16:17

@moremoneyplease well done :) I had to make a complaint to Barclays last week. An easy £25, should get it in the bank this week with any luck! Doing another one for them next week

Frenchdoors1 · 08/10/2019 16:26

@Moremoneyplease
I don't know if they have to send us the exam before we do any tasks??!

juicy0 · 08/10/2019 16:40

Hi! I'm totally new here so be gentle and excuse my ignorance if I'm asking obvious questions. I've just completed the crisp test and passed with 19, so far so good. Do I just sit and wait now?
Also signed up to clickworker and completed my profile but there are no base/project assessments for me to take, it just says none available?

DontCallMeDarling · 08/10/2019 16:41

@TheLolaMontez me too Grin

Wolfff · 08/10/2019 16:48

@Moremoneyplease
@Frenchdoors

I work on a long term project on Appen and did not take any test at all. Just a practice as part of the sign up process when I was invited on the project. I think that information only applies to certain projects or it is out of date and none at all.

The best advice I can give is to be active on social media (Facebook, Instagram) as you cannot do certain jobs otherwise.

mydogisthebest · 08/10/2019 16:50

I passed Crisp in May but have heard nothing further. I don't know whether to do it again. If I do should I use the same email or a different one do you think?

Moremoneyplease · 08/10/2019 16:52

@rhij86 I saw the bank one. I was a bit nervous, did they want all your bank details? How stroppy did you have to be?? Grin

Bemystarlord · 08/10/2019 16:55

@mydogisthebest I used the same one.

Fingers crossed @TheLolaMontez & @DontCallMeDarling

rhij86 · 08/10/2019 16:56

@moremoneyplease not too stroppy! I did feel bad as I was basically lying (I had to say I called and the person on the phone was really rude) but the brief says that there will be no comeback on the phone handler, it's just to see how they log it in branch.
The woman kept offering me money as compensation which I kept refusing but she still put £5 in my account to cover parking 😂
She did take my account details but it was just so she could trace the call I was complaining about so it could be investigated

Frenchdoors1 · 08/10/2019 16:59

@Wolfff

Thank you for answering that interesting query.
Phew! 😁

I'm not on Facebook or Instagram but if I joined up I would have to know how it all works etc to be able to do those ones on appen, that would take me an age.

mydogisthebest · 08/10/2019 17:00

@Bemystarlord thanks for that. I may well try it again then. I've got all my answers somewhere.
