Hello veterans and newbies Grin can't believe we're still going a quarter of the way through the year!

I don't know about everyone else, but I've been crap at tracking properly. Obviously I've got invoices to go off, but I'm going to try to be better this month.

Good start this morning! £28 (£18 less my £10 deposit) on a virgin bonanza box, £8 cashback on the virgin deal too. £10.61 Appen work already done today. I most likely won't do any Crisp today, as I've got an essay due Friday I need to crack on with.

£36.31 so far this month.

How's everyone else ticking along?

Wow, 3luckystars!!
Your username is apt Grin

Ahh, you're in Ireland.
We have something called 'Gumtree' round here in the North West.
I know what you mean about Ebay, I'm up and down with the idea.

I've heard that people buy anything, but one man's Trash is another man's treasure as they say.
Good on you selling all that due to this fabulous thread.

FatandSassy · 09/05/2019 18:59

Hiya @WheelyCote Smile
I did hear back but also saying I didn't get the required 19/20. So not on the waiting list I presume? I'm just going to keep doing it until I get on there! Hopefully I'll get it then.
I've nothing to sell Confused
Although I have signed up for receipt hog which looks like it could be ok... will see.

Octopus37 · 09/05/2019 19:29

Not doing too badly this month. I have manged to pass the Crisp test so very pleased (and suprised). Just have to navigate it all now

flowerstar19 · 09/05/2019 19:50

Hi all, I have been following this thread with great interest! Thanks OP, I need this motivation. I am very keen to make extra £££, I already sell lots on eBay, FaceBook etc, though intend to clear out even more.

I would love it if someone could explain to me a little bit about Crisp & Appen? Are they both surveys? Can you pick up/put down to finish later as my youngest wakes up all evening so it is very hard to stay on task!

Thank you :)

WheelyCote · 09/05/2019 20:09

Justtheo thanks for sharing and wow thats great. I'll definately reattempt the first crisp questions! Thats more than i thought! Fatandsassy definately keep repeating :)

So far I've properly signed up with
Prolific Surveys
Populus surveys
Redwigwam - dont think that will be for me...will see though

WheelyCote · 09/05/2019 20:59

So close 18 out of 20! blumin thing hahaha
I will retry tomorrow

WheelyCote · 09/05/2019 21:23

did another quick repeat and 18 out of 20 again, blumin eck lol
leaving it until tomorrow now for sure

WheelyCote · 09/05/2019 21:43

Ok I gave it one more go...i am a bit like a dog with a bone when i get onto things and 19 out of 20!! at last. Realise i may now need to wait a lonnnggggg time before i actually get work.

I will sign off now and leave you all in peace

Flowerstar im new myself and trying to work out Crisp and appen. Id do a bit of googling but from what i understand is that they are basically freelance work. Your paid for your time and you would need to register as self employed etc Im not a 100% sure what work is available...but it sounds varied and to do with online content. Pls take this with a pinch of salt in case i have it wrong. As suggested do a bit of googling and read through the thread

Octopus Well done!! are you on a waiting list or does it look like theres work available to you now?

Frenchdoors1 · 09/05/2019 22:07

Well done @WheelyCote!

I've had another go too.
See what my score is this time Hmm

If I ever pass I just hope I can do the actual work.

flowerstar19 · 09/05/2019 22:07

Thanks Wheelycote, that sounds really promising. I will do some more research and maybe try to sign up so I can give it a try! Good luck with it too.

It would be fab to be able to earn a bit more money from home. Just need to get my 18 month old to sleep better so my evenings are clear!

OnlyBejoking · 10/05/2019 07:21

I haven't heard from Appen since I applied but just got invited to a child speech recognition project. Is that the nightmare one? Sure my kids would love to earn something.

Otterses · 10/05/2019 08:03

Well 😂 website testing is out the window. I've been invited to do the Java test for Appen. Certainly looks more engaging than Crisp!

@WheelyCote well done! I honestly think the test is a lot harder than the work. Soon they'll send you over some guidelines to look at, then you do a 30 minute trial

@flowerstar19 I really sympathise. DS is still pretty crap at sleeping.

Appen and Leapforce can be a bit tricky to explain, or find out information online due to non disclosure agreements. Projects are really quite varied, so you could be tasked with rating adverts on Facebook, recording voice tests for Alexa, web search evaluation ... it goes on.

Some tasks on Appen are great for putting up and down. Most are mobile based, then again, Crisp you can dip in and out of too.

@OnlyBejoking I've heard that one is fine Grin far less intense!

0htooooodles · 10/05/2019 08:22

@Otterses I also got invited to the java on Appen. They've advised they need to finalise my documents. Does anyone know how long that takes? I'm keen to get going! 😩

reddA · 10/05/2019 08:22

@OnlyBejoking me too - wish I knew why Confused Are you Onlyjoking or someone else?
Morning all Smile hopefully our crisp statements will come through today!

Otterses · 10/05/2019 08:38

@0htooooodles ohhhhh Grin my hopefully Java friend! Not long at all, the longest bit is generally the few days waiting to be added to the relevant tools you need to use to work. Have you done the test yet?

And can you remember how many hours a week it was supposed to be for?

Mamaslave18 · 10/05/2019 08:39

Having small batch issues on Truckee again. The most ads I’ve had this month is 3 a day. I reported it and they said they’d fixed it but today I only have 1 ad. Not worth my while doing for 3 minutes pay.

0htooooodles · 10/05/2019 09:13

@Otterses No, no test yet. Can't do anything till they sort my documents.

Can't remember the hours, applied so long ago 😂

Misskitty86 · 10/05/2019 10:05

@Otterses @0htooooodles can you guys let me know how you get on with the Java test? I failed it the first time and can't work out why as it seemed quite straight forward even though the guidelines are super confusing, I've noticed a few others saying the same. I have one more attempt but If you have any tips on passing (if you do!) then I'd be grateful x

somewhere78 · 10/05/2019 10:17

Hi is anyone on here doing Appen nile? Yesterday I managed about 4 ads which is usual as i keep having to refresh throughout the day to get my full quota. Kept going back on but the link has disappeared and still missing for me today??

reddA · 10/05/2019 10:41

I think I might be getting somewhere with Appen, just had an email saying I have completed the qualification process and now have to log in - not sure what I've qualified for but at least somethings happening!

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 10/05/2019 11:11

Anyone have any good gambling sites that you actually win good money from?

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 10/05/2019 11:14

Nothing from Appen at all
Sods

GoodPlaceJanet · 10/05/2019 11:21

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes I think all these sites are set up for the customers to lose a lot more than they spend. Have you tried matched betting? I've just started but I like that there isn't any risk. Just takes a bit of time and a lot of getting your head around it.

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 10/05/2019 11:23

No @GoodPlaceJanet it sounds so complex!
