Hello veterans and newbies Grin can't believe we're still going a quarter of the way through the year!

I don't know about everyone else, but I've been crap at tracking properly. Obviously I've got invoices to go off, but I'm going to try to be better this month.

Good start this morning! £28 (£18 less my £10 deposit) on a virgin bonanza box, £8 cashback on the virgin deal too. £10.61 Appen work already done today. I most likely won't do any Crisp today, as I've got an essay due Friday I need to crack on with.

£36.31 so far this month.

How's everyone else ticking along?

I got yet another email from appen yesterday about that awful 800 odd recording job. They have upped the money to $100 for it!

I was slightly tempted but it just takes far too long

Fizbo · 08/05/2019 09:36

If anyone is unsure about tax/NI use the calculator on iknowtax.co.uk it will break down exactly what you need to pay. My friend who is very part time earns about £5000 per year she does not pay any tax or NI and is employed on a PAYE contract she works for the local council so I'm sure their payroll has worked it out correctly.

BummyKnocker · 08/05/2019 09:44

Morning All!
I've been invited to take the Jave exam on Appen, has anybody done it who can share some insight?

Thanks!

reddA · 08/05/2019 17:03

Had an email from Clearblue today so fingers crossed my old lady wee will earn me some money :) Thanks OP for the heads up on the trial! Not done much Crisp today as I had a pretty grim dentist appt this morning requiring Diazepam so todays been a bit of a write off - looking at the dashboard though it's been quite quiet compared to the last few days.

With the NI & Tax I've always paid NI even though I didn't need to when self employed as I'd rather be safe regarding my old age pension. I don't earn enough to pay tax. If you do online Tax returns you can check your contributions and see when you will currently be entitled to your Pension and if you are behind at all.

No news from Appen apart from the email increasing the money for the one task. I had emails accepting me to Carmel but no link to participate or anything - no point emailing them as they don't reply.

WheelyCote · 08/05/2019 20:01

mydog whys that job so awful? £100 sounds great

WheelyCote · 08/05/2019 20:07

Are crisp and appen the same type of conpany?

justtheonethen · 08/05/2019 20:26

@WheelyCote it involves hours and hours of repetitive stuff. It's awful. I did do it and it still hasn't been approved Sad

justtheonethen · 08/05/2019 20:26

And no, they are different companies

WheelyCote · 08/05/2019 20:39

Oh no just thats terrible. Hope they approve it soon. Is it commonplace that things dont get approved?

Just did the first part of Crisp and been added to the waiting list. Not sure how i did on the questions

WheelyCote · 08/05/2019 20:44

Dammit i only got 15 out of 20. Needed 19.
Can you retake the test?

anxiouswaiting · 08/05/2019 21:00

@reddA I got the Carmel invote too about 5 days ago, signed the online forms they asked me too and heard nothing since, plus i now can't apply for anything else on Appen, it just says waiting for verification which is annoying.

Anyone considering the voice recording task, it took me over 6 hours, if I had the option to do it again for $100 I would say a big fat NO! Doesn't help that it's been a few weeks now and the same as @justtheonethen they still haven't approved my recordings so I have not been paid.

@WheelyCote Keep trying, it took me till my 5th attempt to get 19/20

justtheonethen · 09/05/2019 07:19

How funny, I've just been paid for that appen task. I stand by it not being worth it!

Otterses · 09/05/2019 08:58

All moved in Grin very excited about my new dining room to work out of on these money making adventures.

Glad I'm not the only one confused by Carmel! Appen also sent me a weird email this morning asking me to confirm my iOS Hmm said it was in relation to a project I'm being considered for ...

I'm pausing Crisp for a bit - is found a few new user testing websites I want to explore.

Well done. It is a fabulous thread for sure.
Have you tried 'Enlightly'?
Good site for making a few quid.
Well done...
Did you sell your baby things on Ebay?

GoodPlaceJanet · 09/05/2019 15:32

I signed up to Enlightly but got as far as 10p then they ran out of questions. Anyone else had this?

Frenchdoors1 · 09/05/2019 15:45

@GoodPlaceJanet

I've done quite well on Enlightly to be honest. They do run out or questions if you don't quite fit their criteria, but keep checking it and a new set of questions come on. There are always questions, even if after 1 day or so. You have to keep going back to it and checking Smile

GoodPlaceJanet · 09/05/2019 15:51

@Frenchdoors1 ah fab thank you

Frenchdoors1 · 09/05/2019 15:53

Janet
You're welcome.
You'll be addicted soon. Grin

FatandSassy · 09/05/2019 17:04

Hi everyone,
Have been following with interest. Have signed up for the clearblue thing, am 37 so fingers crossed.
Also done the initial Crisp thing but unsure how long it will take to hear back. Was looking at Appen but given I have no experience in offices etc I don't think I'll be likely chosen for anything, I've not done anything like what they're asking so... Hmm
Anything else I could be looking at? I signed up toohmydosh too but mostly that's all stuff to buy and I don't want to be spending to earn iyswim. I did do the tastecard offer though which is fabulous!

WheelyCote · 09/05/2019 17:33

Evening all
Thinking i'll give the crisp survey thing another go tonight. Can I be nosey and ask how much people generally earn from Crisp a week?? and how many hours you put in?

Welcome Fatandsassy :) Im new too. I heard back straight away from crisp. They sent an email saying you ron the waiting list but when i clicked on the email it also said I didnt get the 19 out of 20 needed....something like that. Check your emails

Thanks French & Janet I'll be looking at enlightly too

Think i smell tea overcooking, better go :D

justtheonethen · 09/05/2019 18:22

@WheelyCote I'm on £180 in less than a week and I've only logged on when the baby naps/a bit in the evening. Certainly hasn't felt like hard work!

3luckystars · 09/05/2019 18:41

@Frenchdoors1
I'm selling it on an Irish site called Donedeal. Do you have anything similar where you are?

I have never braved selling on eBay!

I just sold a shower this evening, I have to meet he woman tomorrow, and if she doesnt buy, i have another man lined up waiting for it.

People will buy anything. The shower was actually new, but the voltage was wrong for our house and I couldn't return it. I would have just thrown it out only for this thread now I'm getting about €50 for it! So I'm up €140.

I'm going up into the attic at the weekend!!! Sell sell sell Grin
