Hello veterans and newbies Grin can't believe we're still going a quarter of the way through the year!

I don't know about everyone else, but I've been crap at tracking properly. Obviously I've got invoices to go off, but I'm going to try to be better this month.

Good start this morning! £28 (£18 less my £10 deposit) on a virgin bonanza box, £8 cashback on the virgin deal too. £10.61 Appen work already done today. I most likely won't do any Crisp today, as I've got an essay due Friday I need to crack on with.

£36.31 so far this month.

How's everyone else ticking along?

I've done the Take Note test audio thingy. I'm pretty confident it was almost 100% accurate in terms of the actual text, not sure if I got all the formatting right. I think I managed it in the time allowed, but I hid the clock because it was putting me off, then when I clicked submit, the clock disappeared anyway.

I retook Crisp (17 first time) and despite reading the notes properly, I got 14 this time. Grin

I am going to look at PPH again, I am registered on there but haven't really given it a proper look.

Otterses · 28/05/2019 09:14

Grin keep trying @TheCanterburyWhales !

I've not had luck on PPH for a long time, what services do you offer on there if you don't mind me asking?

I didn't realise I have to write an actual letter to HMRC for my £500 Shock another job for today then.

Well I scored 17 on Crisp on my 3rd attempt so getting better but still not enough. Not sure at all where I am going wrong but will try again.

Tohaveandtohold · 28/05/2019 10:36

Does anyone know of a web alert type of app for prolific for iPhones? I’ve not seen any survey in almost a week now.

fishandchops · 28/05/2019 10:55

Anyone working on the rattle project on appen. Have to do my test in the next 72 hours. Hopefully I'll be better at this than Java.
Made enough money for my new washing machine so anything else earned now is a bonus. Smile

GoodPlaceJanet · 28/05/2019 16:25

That email someone shared from Crisp is a little worrying for those of us on the waiting list eek. Sounds like they're full.

Fingers crossed I hear from Appen soon. I've applied for the Tigris project but I think I might apply for Inari UC also if anyone has any experience of either of these?

Appreciate all the help and tips on this thread. I've made about £140 this month from matched betting and surveys, hopefully I can start earning more soon.

GoodPlaceJanet · 28/05/2019 16:46

Oh and I've just accidentally applied for Carmel on Appen because I clicked on qualify to get more info and it automatically entered me! Hope it's not that awful speech task you've all been talking about...

Otterses · 28/05/2019 17:00

Well, we're all thick as mince.

I didn't even think to use the dictation feature Blush did anyone else?

@GoodPlaceJanet Speech collection may not be all that bad! I think we maybe made it more complicated than it needs to be 😂 if this dictation feature actually works.

@Otterses I just saw that 🙈

crosserthanacrossthing · 28/05/2019 17:37

Hi all!

For those of you on Crisp. What is the scoring like for the final test? Would they let me retake it?

I’m so disappointed.

When I sat down to do it, my DH decided, despite me asking him several times to leave me in absolute peace while I took the test, to ask me about the decorating we’re doing. He’d already interrupted my concentration but I reminded him nicely, that I’d asked him to leave me alone just for 30 minutes. Then he kept on and on about which wall would be blue and which white. So I told him less nicely to leave me alone, several times. He just wouldn’t stop, I couldn’t think about the sodding wall colours while trying to think about which risk might apply but he kept asking me to just tell him ‘just say one word, it’s one word’.

I was completely thrown after that and must have failed unless their scoring is exceptionally easy.

All that time and effort wasted because of ‘emergency’ bloody wall colours. I’m really upset that he didn’t respect what I’d asked him, and I was looking forward to having some extra money coming in while I’m a big preggo and needing to buy so many baby things.

Oh well, hope they let me re-do.

Baddabo · 28/05/2019 17:40

Joining late to the party if you don't mind Grin spent all of last night and part of today reading this thread and skimming the previous ones!

Did the Crisp test last night and got 16/20. Did it again straight away and got 19/20 so guess that's just a matter of waiting now.

Also considering Take Note.

Not sure about Appen, from what you guys have said, I don't think it's for me.

Was also wondering about Prolific but seems a few of you havent had much from that lately

justtheonethen · 28/05/2019 17:43

@crosserthanacrossthing do you think you did 60?

justtheonethen · 28/05/2019 17:43

@crosserthanacrossthing Also I would be so bloody angry at your husband.

PineapplePatty · 28/05/2019 17:47

@crosserthanacrossthing I'd be livid with him.

I thought I had failed the test but was very shocked to have passed so fingers crossed for you.

I've made quite a lot on it already so it's worth retrying if you don't pass.

crosserthanacrossthing · 28/05/2019 18:23

I think I did 60 but the quality was probably shocking as I panicked due to the time ticking down. Fairly sure I fluffled it.

Honestly I’m still so angry! He has apologised but it feels more like an apology because I’m pregnant than a real understanding of why I’m so upset.

Thank you! At least I’ve had a practice run, if I can take it again.

Otterses · 28/05/2019 18:43

@crosserthanacrossthing

Try not to stress about it though I would also want to smack your DH around the head Crisp are I think, quite lenient. A few of us on here were told we'd passed, as long as we reviewed the guidelines again for certain bits etc. If you get an email saying you failed, I'd honestly appeal for a retake. I'd imagine you'll hear back tomorrow either way. And if not, you have other options how far along are you?

@Baddabo I think the thing is, it really depends on what project you end up doing with Appen as to whether or not it's a good fit for you. There's no harm in applying though and seeing what they offer you, you don't have to say yes to everything Grin if they offer you Nile it's an absolute doddle though and you'd be daft to say no to that one!

Profilic I can't comment on, I really don't do surveys. I have the attention span of a toddler Grin

@Otterses "I didn't realise I have to write an actual letter to HMRC for my £500" - are you sure? If you have a Government gateway HMRC account you can apply for the tax refund online, it's dead simple.

fishandchops · 28/05/2019 19:19

The rattle project on appen is too much hard work, I've give up Confused

Otterses · 28/05/2019 19:36

@JustSomebodie I don't know if I was being particularly thick, but I could only see a P50 form on there for claiming back income tax if I'd been unemployed for four weeks, which didn't quite seem to fit the bill Blush

Oh well! Letter is in the post now 😂 we'll see what happens.

OP posts:
Otterses · 28/05/2019 19:38

@fishandchops I concur. It's overwhelmingly crap Hmm

MrsWombat · 28/05/2019 20:44

I've got my first £1.70 from Prolific, but no more surveys for me at the moment.

I'm another one on the waiting list and disappointed that Crisp sounds very full up at the moment. I'm hoping they will reopen in September as that's when I'll have more time, and I'm guessing a lot of student/SAHPs job status may change and they'll need more staff. (pretty please) Grin

Just had a second potential regular PPH client get in touch for admin work. Need to work out how to juggle things about, and possibly closed my books for the summer. Confused That always sounds a bit wanky when the local businesses post that on the local facebook groups. GrinBlush

MotherOfDragonite · 29/05/2019 08:40

Hello, I'd like to join you all! I took the Crisp test and got 18 initially, then tried again and got 20, so I'm waiting hopefully for something to happen. I've been on Quidco for yonks and do YouGov surveys but don't seem to make that much money on either. Not sure I have enough time to commit to Appen as well as Crisp, so might hold off until after the summer holidays. Or is that silly?

somewhere78 · 29/05/2019 09:43

Just seen mention of using the dictation for Appen. I found this a few weeks ago while doing my Nile ratings and can now get them done fairly quickly using the dictation. I just double check that what I've said is what's has actually been picked up by the phone. Grin

LittleAndOften · 29/05/2019 09:44

Oh can someone lovely pleeease help me with the crisp answers? I cannot get above 18 and I've done it 6 times. Tearing my hair out!

Otterses · 29/05/2019 09:46

@somewhere78 WAHHHH 😂 months of my life wasted!

To be fair, iPhone predicts what I'm going to say anyway so I don't need to put a lot of thought in. And I have standard responses in my notes for stuff like 'I don't have a dog so this isn't relevant to me blah blah blah...'.
