Hello veterans and newbies Grin can't believe we're still going a quarter of the way through the year!

I don't know about everyone else, but I've been crap at tracking properly. Obviously I've got invoices to go off, but I'm going to try to be better this month.

Good start this morning! £28 (£18 less my £10 deposit) on a virgin bonanza box, £8 cashback on the virgin deal too. £10.61 Appen work already done today. I most likely won't do any Crisp today, as I've got an essay due Friday I need to crack on with.

£36.31 so far this month.

How's everyone else ticking along?

@LittleAndOften

Plenty get accepted with 18 Smile

@LittleAndOften it took me about 6 tries too and I felt equally frustrated. I honestly couldn't tell you how I got 19 because it felt like I picked the same answers each time. My only tip would be to chose as many as you think are relevant, I think I had 2 or 3 answers on almost all of them. Good luck!

somewhere78 · 29/05/2019 09:54

@Otterses you'll get them done in no time now !Wink

MotherOfDragonite · 29/05/2019 09:59

Little, I found that my score increased enormously when I tried to find multiple risk factors to tick (say 3 or 4) for each answer, rather than just one. In particular think carefully about whether the PR risk one is applicable as I think I was missing that one when it could have been applicable!

MotherOfDragonite · 29/05/2019 10:01

Ok, I am thinking of submitting my CV for Appen. Does it matter what I have on my CV? (e.g. I've done loads of transcription work and SEO stuff, but it's not on my CV) Or do they just want to see that I'm a generally employable human?

BeeMyBaby · 29/05/2019 10:17

I'm terrified I'm going to get fired from crisp. I was just checking an item and I thought if someone said something was gross it counted as a negative review, but apparently it's just opinion unless they state they actually bought it and is therefore no risk. I've been doing so many wrong Sad
I really hope they are less harsh is you are over cautious rather than just miss risks. Also, do you count scum as mild swearing or not?

PollyShelby · 29/05/2019 11:19

@BeeMyBaby I'm sure they would rather you're over cautious.

I find ones saying things like #banplastic hard.

justtheonethen · 29/05/2019 11:20

@bee I have been doing the same- surely if they say something tastes gross then it's a negative review though? Eeeek I've been doing it wrong if not.

justtheonethen · 29/05/2019 11:21

@PollyShelby I do too. I put it as a general customer complaint but maybe that isn't right.

PollyShelby · 29/05/2019 11:30

I only really work in moderating, I find it much easier.

I'm going to try Mod2 when it's quieter though and have a go.

PollyShelby · 29/05/2019 11:32

Maybe we need a private WhatsApp group to chat about Crisp.

justtheonethen · 29/05/2019 12:04

@PollyShelby that's a good idea. Do you think that's allowed?

LittleAndOften · 29/05/2019 12:05

Thanks for the tips on crisp folks. I'll try again later if I can bear it Grin

In other news, I was offered some ongoing copywriting work yesterday which I'm really excited about as it's going to be regular. It's exactly what I've being hoping for! It won't pay out for a while though, and neither will my exam marking next month so I really still could do with Crisp.

smurfmonkey · 29/05/2019 12:16

I'd be up for a separate Crisp chat somewhere, if possible and allowed. Not too sure on logistics for organising it though.

In terms of negative reviews, I think it can be quite subjective. I've found this with a lot of the (unnamed) soft drink ones, loads of comments about how full of sugar etc it is and how bad it is for you. But I list them as no risk when it's a customer service only question as it's not a bad review of the product but just someone's personal opinion.

@BeeMyBaby - I would class scum as personal abuse but I don't think I've classed it as a mild profanity when I've seen it. Maybe it makes sense to link it to context, so any of the words classed as a mild profanity are classed as that regardless of when they might be used? But something like scum or cow aren't offensive as such on their own, but can be used as personal abuse? I don't know if that makes sense?!

PollyShelby · 29/05/2019 12:18

I'm not sure how to set a chat up, but if anyone knows please add me.

Otterses · 29/05/2019 12:25

I've been classifying scum re: bloke who tried to mug that woman for her bracelets, as personal abuse.

Suebnm · 29/05/2019 12:53

I have only ever lurked on this board but I would join a private group for Crisp.

As an aside I have only ever worked in Mod2 on Crisp. Is monitoring easier?

BeeMyBaby · 29/05/2019 13:49

Yes I'd be up for a whatapp group pr secret Facebook group on crisp, I know they said that we couldn't discuss it on blogs didn't they? I presume they meant if we named companies and gave specific examples rather than just discussing the rules so that we can moderate better. I thought that personal abuse only applied if it was directed to another person in the thread (or a rep of the brand if it's available on the tree), so if it's a news item and they are slagging them, then it doesn't count as personal abuse. Has anyone written to monitoring to check this type of thing?

I have been pondering applying for the phone text 63336 thing, has anyone done this? If the company charge £3 per question, how much do you get per answer? 20p, 50p? Less, more? I know someone said they had earned £600 a month from it but they didn't specify the number of hours this took them.

justtheonethen · 29/05/2019 13:57

Argh see I thought personal abuse was to anyone Shock

anxiouswaiting · 29/05/2019 14:26

Sold some baby clothes and a baby sling this week for £60 and I have $35 coming from Noyo and Carmel. Finally after weeks of waiting my $48 for the awful speech task is on my invoice (I may have e-mailed them several times and eventually got snotty and told them to stop e-mailing me asking me to do more work when they didn't pay me the first time).

Still waiting for my Inari-c login so hope that comes soon so I can do my hour a day as that's about £11 I think. Also hoping for Crisp but sounds like they are not going to need anyone for a while.

I'm now on zero pay on maternity leave so need to up my game, especially as I also have my eye on a Joie spin carseat but DH says we can't afford it. Next month I need to do about £25/£30 a day so I can cover bills plus justify the carseat.

Also found out I overpaid my student loan last year by about £350 and can claim that back and I can claim tax allowance for the last few years for washing my uniform and union fees so fingers crossed I will have a couple of nice cheques soon Grin

fishandchops · 29/05/2019 17:08

I would be interested in a WhatsApp group too. I'm sure I'm being over cautious now on crisp as I've had a couple of messages saying that I've classed something as no risk when it was.

OnlyBejoking · 29/05/2019 17:21

Another up for a Crisp support group. I feel like I'm really floundering most of the time.

WheelyCote · 29/05/2019 17:32

Id be up for a crisp support group even tho im not on crisp yet lol

smurfmonkey · 29/05/2019 17:34

What about setting up a private Facebook group? You could limit members to folks whose Mumsnet ID matches to this thread? That way folks could use a dummy profile if they wished? I'm assuming using WhatsApp would mean handing over phone numbers to set it up?

PollyShelby · 29/05/2019 17:56

Does anyone know how to set a group up? You're right that you'd need phone numbers for WhatsApp
