Hello veterans and newbies Grin can't believe we're still going a quarter of the way through the year!

I don't know about everyone else, but I've been crap at tracking properly. Obviously I've got invoices to go off, but I'm going to try to be better this month.

Good start this morning! £28 (£18 less my £10 deposit) on a virgin bonanza box, £8 cashback on the virgin deal too. £10.61 Appen work already done today. I most likely won't do any Crisp today, as I've got an essay due Friday I need to crack on with.

£36.31 so far this month.

How's everyone else ticking along?

I sent the email to "recruitment" because I couldn't find another address. I guess I will just have to be patient although that's not one of my strong points!

I never realised appen had so many projects. I only see about 6 when I log in but most have to be done on a phone which I am not keen on. I find it so much easier to work on a laptop and can type so much faster and more accurately!

Otterses · 24/05/2019 11:22

@0hmygoodness I think most of us failed that one! The guidelines are awful.

0hmygoodness · 24/05/2019 11:30

Glad it's not just me then! I thought I was getting the hang of it on the 2nd go but clearly not Smile

Mydog, I had an email about Carmel too but no link on mine at all.

reddA · 24/05/2019 12:22

Losing the will to live on Rattle, 100 training hits over the last 48 hours and now 100 real hits within 24 hours, I know I'm going to fail as I was so bad in the training - I've done 26 so far and my brain hurts already and I've done bugger all on crisp!

MrsGaryLightbody · 24/05/2019 12:22

Cloud workers ? Is that a sex thing?? Blush

BeeMyBaby · 24/05/2019 12:47

Ugh, the last couple of days on crisp have been super slow, I thought with the PM resigning it would improve but they must have got more mods as it took minutes to clear down any backlog so most of my time was spent looking at a loading screen. I'm hoping sat night will be good as the EU results will start being announced after 10.15pm apparently.

Otterses · 24/05/2019 12:53

@BeeMyBaby Grin that's my plan too. I'm currently staring at the loading screen ...

PineapplePatty · 24/05/2019 12:58

I only work in the moderation one as I find the other one harder and it's ok, upto £15 today and I've been dipping in and out. There was a surge earlier that helped bump it I think.

Fizbo · 24/05/2019 12:59

I personally wouldn't recommend project Carmel, it's a lot of effort for little money. You get 0.10 cents per utterance but you cant use the examples they give which are the most common used or have any two remotely the same I spent far too long on it for essentially about $5 so I've stopped. The most you can earn if you do every single one is $27.

I also have Truckee on the go which is so much easier. On the plus side this is my third month on Appen and I'm finding I am being invited to apply to more projects the longer I've been on. Still waiting to hear back from Crisp but it's only been a week.

Otterses · 24/05/2019 13:03

@PineapplePatty I flit between moderation and mod2.

Is anyone planning on applying for a Combat login when they hit three months?

OP posts:
BeeMyBaby · 24/05/2019 13:09

Yes I definitely want to apply for the combat login once I've been long enough, but as I have only just started it will be a long wait but at least it gives me lots of time to get my head round it all. It's such a steep learning curve with the various trees.
I like monitoring and I'm getting into it more, but you tend to earn less I think because there's a lot if twitter retweets and I think you are expected to do about 600 in an hour to get up to £10.

Otterses · 24/05/2019 13:13

@BeeMyBaby To be honest, I think maybe we need to start creating some scandals ourselves to generate work for each other Grin we just need to get on This Morning and say something ridiculous.

Has anyone ever seen a tweet or comment of their own come up on Crisp Shock ? That's an interesting one!

BoeandBall · 24/05/2019 13:16

Do you have to register as self employed if you work for appen? Is it good money?

PineapplePatty · 24/05/2019 13:18

I'd like to see what combat involves, I will look at the walk through once I've been doing it longer.

I assume the Coke ones pay more too? They seem popular

PineapplePatty · 24/05/2019 13:19

I've also got nearly 2000 items in my missing column Shock

Otterses · 24/05/2019 13:28

@BoeandBall

Loads about Appen on the first thread Smile

Anyone up for an earn £10 a day challenge this year? http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/legalmoneyy_matters/3466885-anyone-up-for-an-earn-10-a-day-challenge-this-year#83772838

WheelyCote · 24/05/2019 13:28

Has anyone done fletcher? Did it really take 3 hours or much longer?

anxiouswaiting · 24/05/2019 13:29

I've just had an invite from Appen for more speak collection. on the surface it looked good, $85 for recording discussions on 19 topics. Then I check the full guidelines and see that is for 1,900 recordings!! I am not being suckered into that again. STILL waiting for my pay for the last lot of recordings.

Had a good week though as I did an online focus group for £50 for half an hour and I have been doing some surveys so I am nearly up to my £70 for the week.

Appen seems so slow, been waiting for the tool to be added to my Instagram before I can get started on a task which will earn me £11 each day. Hope it comes through soon.

Does anyone do Rev or TakeNote? I can type quite quickly but not done any actual training on it, is there a lot to learn in terms of layout etc... with my baby being really clingy and not sleeping great at the moment I want to use any free time I have to earn but on tasks which aren't too mentally draining as I just don't have the mental capacity for that right now.

Otterses · 24/05/2019 13:29

@WheelyCote

Fletcher will take you 6 hours. It's that stupid 900 voice collection task with a fancy name.

OP posts:
Otterses · 24/05/2019 13:30

@WheelyCote ... I'd ask @anxiouswaiting about Fletcher 😂 ...

OP posts:
Otterses · 24/05/2019 13:38

Shock am I being thick!? Where is this mystical missing column you all speak of!?

@PineapplePatty

OP posts:
anxiouswaiting · 24/05/2019 13:39

@WheelyCote Nooooooo DON'T DO IT!!!!! It takes bloody hours, is tedious and they still haven't bloody paid me weeks late despite telling me my submissions were approved and would be paid a couple of weeks ago. I get more and more bitter each day haha Gin

Otterses · 24/05/2019 13:42

@anxiouswaiting

Shock SERIOUSLY? The cheeky shits.

OP posts:
PineapplePatty · 24/05/2019 13:49

@Otterses on the dashboard the final column says missing.

Apparently it's for items that haven't been allocated yet.

0htooooodles · 24/05/2019 15:01

Anyone done the Wouri Web Data project on Appen? I've just been invited to take the test! Pleased it's good money but apprehensive about the test 😞
