Hello veterans and newbies Grin can't believe we're still going a quarter of the way through the year!

I don't know about everyone else, but I've been crap at tracking properly. Obviously I've got invoices to go off, but I'm going to try to be better this month.

Good start this morning! £28 (£18 less my £10 deposit) on a virgin bonanza box, £8 cashback on the virgin deal too. £10.61 Appen work already done today. I most likely won't do any Crisp today, as I've got an essay due Friday I need to crack on with.

£36.31 so far this month.

How's everyone else ticking along?

Hi, I am so glad that I spotted this thread. I was already on Prolific, I gave up on all the other survey sites because I always seemed to get screened out.
I have passed the Crisp test and I am on the waiting list.

Already accepted into Rev and done a few short transcripts, I need to bite the bullet and accept one of the longer ones. I also took the captioning test today, enjoyed that more than the transcription.

StrippingTheVelvet · 21/05/2019 18:46

I got an email from ClearBlue and need to sign a consent form and return it. Hopefully will get it printed tomorrow.

Suddenlychasingrainbows · 21/05/2019 20:04

Does prolific take FOREVER to build up a reasonable amount?
I’ve registered for Crisp and am on the waiting list.
I’ve sold a few things on fb and eBay this week and have made about £80 but obviously this isn’t a reliable way to make money as I will run out of things in my house to sell...
I’d like to make about £40-50 a week ideally, somehow, so not even £10 a day. £150 extra a month would make a massive difference to me! I have about two hours a day spare that I could do things in.
Any other suggestions?

Otterses · 21/05/2019 20:58

@Suddenlychasingrainbows

RedWigWam - generally you can get about £15 on mystery shopping if you pop a couple of things extra your online food shop (you're reimbursed obviously!)

Angelfish have great market research opportunities, as do Respondent.

Matched betting is an easy one to build up funds with little effort.

Appen/Leapforce are great, I average £300 a month from them generally.

LionBridge is good, but quite heavy going.

Apps like BetterPoints, and sweatcoin are good for long term earning if you are quite active.

It seems daft, but can I check you're doing cashback on everything? If you're due to switch utilities, broadband, etc. There are some amazing payouts. I've made £400 and a galaxy tablet just switching my life insurance, broadband and LISA.

Profilic really can take a while if you're not in the demographic researchers are looking for.

I have all the clearblue stuff here I just keep forgetting to pee in the pot in the morning Blush

Tohaveandtohold · 21/05/2019 22:38

I feel I need to check in.
Thank you Ottersea for starting this thread. I’ve learnt a lot. I passed Crisp test tonight. I’m still on maternity leave so hopefully I’ll be accepted around the time they stop paying me Mat pay. I’ve started MB using profit accumulator and I’ve made a profit of around £280 in over 3 weeks but I’m cautious. I plan to return to work part time so I’m learning a lot from this thread.

Yugi · 21/05/2019 22:44

Prolific isn’t big money and it is patchy, busy around thesis time at universities, dead during the summer holidays. But I like that you get paid what it says not start the survey and then get told you aren’t suitable ten questions in. Plus I am helping with research.

Otterses · 22/05/2019 11:12

Ugh.

First 'issue' I've had with crisp. Anyone else?

I've been on Crisp 4 times for about half an hour each time and I've only made about £8. Am I the slowest of the slow?!

justtheonethen · 22/05/2019 11:25

@Otterses had that a few times, just refreshed and it was fine after.

justtheonethen · 22/05/2019 11:25

@OnlyBejoking erm Grin

goodluckandgodspeed · 22/05/2019 11:45

How long will it take for crisp to get back to me now I’ve past the first test?

Also does it usually take long for prolific to approve submissions? I’ve only got £5 but none of it has been approved. I won’t bother carrying on if they don’t approve them!

PineapplePatty · 22/05/2019 12:22

Prolific varies on how quickly they approve them. It's faster if you get a code at the end but usually they do it in a day or three.

I was slow at crisp but I'm getting faster, it helps when you do a few and recognise the risk IYSWIM.

morekidsthanhands · 22/05/2019 14:17

Tip for prolific:
I downloaded an app called web alert which basically refreshes the prolific website every minute and gives me a notification (I've set it yo a kaching sound Grin) whenever a new study comes up. Has really helped to boost my earnings on it.
Must admit a lot of the time I look at them and thing I could be earning more on crisp so don't bother.

fishandchops · 22/05/2019 15:09

Seeing some positive results now on crisp, I must be getting better. I'm also trying to work when the surges are on.
I've only had 2 comments about my work so far so must be doing something right.
My main earner is Appen though and I'm now trying to get 7 days a week in.
My earnings so far from those 2 are £250 now so I'm well going to get my target of £300.
Shame it has to go on a new washing machine.

smurfmonkey · 22/05/2019 15:11

@goodluckandgodspeed took about 7 weeks for them to get back to me

I've seen a few people ask about the missing values in the Crisp dashboard, someone asked the question today on Slack and someone else responded with the following:

"You may sometimes see Missing Value items on your Klipfolio Dashboard. Missing Values are simply items from new pages that have not yet fully been configured - although as always your earnings are always safely stored on our database.. These values will be reconciled when the dashboards update , or by the time your statement is issued. Nothing to worry about, it just means that if you have a few Missing Values items your overall total earnings will increase when the pages are aligned." That's from the PPI FAQ page.

Hi morekidsthanhands
Thanks for the tip on the app for alerts on Prolific. I didn't know there was one for the smartphone. I've included a screenshot of the app I've downloaded, is this right? Smile

PollyShelby · 22/05/2019 16:00

@smurfmonkey thanks for that about missing values.

Also you know the surge.. is it extra money or does it just mean it's busier so you can get through more items? Blush

3dogsnorth · 22/05/2019 16:06

@shabbadooof

I'm interested to hear more about the text q@a. How do you go about applying to that one.

Failed the Crisp test again Confused

morekidsthanhands · 22/05/2019 16:07

@frenchdoors1 that's the exact one I use :)
