Hello everyone Grin a new month, and a new thread, and a £280 target to hit!

There aren't song rules, as long as you've made some extra cash. So from eBay to remote jobs to saving money by switching your house insurance provider - it all counts.

There's a list below of the sites mentioned in the previous thread, hopefully I haven't missed too many, but add anything else you think of.

@margaritasbythesea I'm so sorry to be a pain, I signed up for Populus Live but I don't see where the actual surveys are?

Otterses · 06/02/2019 15:45

@Bumblebeewine

  1. Right, you should hopefully see this page. Click become agent.
  1. Pick your language and country.
  1. You want to be option 2. The easiest way to 'do' Leapforce is to register as self employed.
  1. Upload your CV and whatnot.
  1. I would recommend saying NO, you do not have experience in web search evaluation. They may a bit funny if you've come from another company.

You should then get an email saying their reviewing your qualification package. You should hear back within a few weeks.

Does that help?

Sorry @margaritasbythesea ignore that!

Otterses · 06/02/2019 15:47

And @Bumblebeewine the Appen Global website is terrifying - I've never ended up with any work off of it. If you don't hear back from Leapforce within a few weeks, I'd apply with LionBridge instead.

Are you looking more for a bit extra? Or an actual work at home job?

OP posts:
Bumblebeewine · 06/02/2019 15:47

Thank you so much @Otterses! How are you finding the work? I know you can't say too much but do you get to chose your hours all the time?

Bumblebeewine · 06/02/2019 15:51

I'm not looking for a full-blown work at home job, I work part-time (3 days) but I'd love to be making a bit each day, probably looking to dedicate 20-25 hours a week. I've spent practically all day from 10am on OhMyDosh but the problem is that most of the good deals require paying £1 and earning £3 and there's not even many of those. Also have to be really careful to cancel subscriptions after the free trial! Have you tried it yourself?

Otterses · 06/02/2019 15:52

I really like working with Leapforce! I do an hour a day, rating social media ads Grin I dip in and out when DS naps or on my commute to work. I'm really, really hoping for a renewal for the project I'm on, it's unusual to be kept on for over a year on this one, but I've got my fingers crossed.

Also, whatever you do, do NOT do anything with 20Cogs. It sounds like you've gone to town on OhMyDosh (which is fab) but something like 20Cogs could trap your cash and get you stuck as you will have already done most of the offers.

Sorry if you've already seen that Blush I just don't want you to waste money on that one!

Otterses · 06/02/2019 15:53

@Bumblebeewine oh go on. You know you want to give comping a go Wink

I need more of you to enter this meat hamper competition. I'm seriously worried about winning it.

OP posts:
Bumblebeewine · 06/02/2019 15:53

Sorry to go on but I'm also a bit wary of it now as earlier I got paid £0.75 to do a survey to enter for free MAC makeup but then why would MAC need testers as it's a massive brand? Not expecting to get any, I only did it for the money. Should've thought of that before I did it Blush but yeah, I'm just a bit worried that it's dodgy?

Bumblebeewine · 06/02/2019 15:55

^ about OMD, haven't heard of 20cogs but will definitely steer clear then! What's comping?Blush

Otterses · 06/02/2019 16:00

@Bumblebeewine highly doubt you'll win, but expect lots of PPI calls soon Grin

OP posts:
Bumblebeewine · 06/02/2019 16:00

Nooooooooooooooooo Grin

Otterses · 06/02/2019 16:07

Grin oh YESSSSS.

Comping is competitions. There's loads with stuff that would gage great resale value if you win.

There's matched betting too, which is really work looking into. I made over £200 in my first month, without really putting in a lot of effort.

OP posts:
Bumblebeewine · 06/02/2019 16:09

@Otterses have you tried OMD?

With matched betting, I'm worried that I'll lose money with it as I know how easily it is to get addicted. Have you never lost any money on it?

Bumblebeewine · 06/02/2019 16:11

Which sites do you like for comping?

Otterses · 06/02/2019 16:15

@Bumblebeewine yes, I've found OMD fantastic Grin well over £100 on there last year.

I've never lost any money MB'ing. Other than the 25p-ish you lose with qualifying bets.

You're doing cashback sites too right? That's a great way to start. If you do the offers for say, coral and Betfair, you get £30 cashback from a £20 deposit in total across both sites, then whatever you make betting. If you decide you hate it and it's not for you, you've still made £10 profit from cashback Smile

OP posts:
Bumblebeewine · 06/02/2019 16:17

BlushBlush I kind of started this whole making money thing today Grin after reading the thread for a few days! So if Coral have £30 cash back from £20 deposit, I'll get £10 in my account (after taking out £20 and putting in £30?) and have £20 to use on bets and even if I don't win I still have £10?Shock

Bumblebeewine · 06/02/2019 16:20

I've 'made' £23 on OMD today but some are processing and none of it is in my account yet. I've transferred £12 but I don't know how long it'll take to come through. I also did an amazon music one this morning but that hasn't come through as completed yet even though the rest have been so quick to come through Confused Do you know roughly how long new deals come up? Just feel like I've rushed through all of them and that'll be it for a few months Grin sorry for all of the questions and continuous posts on the thread!

Otterses · 06/02/2019 16:24

Yes!

Sign up with profit accumulator, for the free trial.

Go through Quidco (actually, I think OMD May have an even better offer for Coral) and deposit £10 with Betfair, and £10 with Coral. You should get £20 CB for Betfair, and £10 on Coral. So £30 CB total. So you're already £10 in profit.

Follow the guide with Profit Accumulator, it's a proper hand hold website Grin you'll be fine.

You'll lose about 20p on a qualifying bet, to get a free bet. You should make about £10-£15 on the first matched betting offer.

So all in all, you should be £25 in profit off the first offer.

Read up on it, and go slow. Mistakes are only made through rushing, not checking what you're doing and not following the guidelines.

OP posts:
Bumblebeewine · 06/02/2019 16:25

Oh and that £23 is after spending £4.08 so it's not actually £23

Otterses · 06/02/2019 16:26

Don't be daft @Bumblebeewine Grin all this is helpful to all of us.

Log into your OMD account. Look at the drop down of offers that are 'pending' they should have a little orange clock icon next to them. Click and it'll tell you when the money should hit your balance rather than pending.

Had a random day off so inspired by you lot applied for another 4 Appen things, downloaded a few apps, applied for all the user testing things and have probably won sweet FA or a multitude of bags of dog biscuits on the Twitter comp things Grin

mydogisthebest · 06/02/2019 18:15

I am looking into earning more and want to get into matched betting but am rather scared of it. I keep reading about it and have watched a couple of videos but not sure I really understand it.

I have been doing Prolific Academic for a couple of years and have made a fair amount of money but it has slowed down a lot recently. I also do Populus surveys but, as a previous poster said, you don't get surveys that often.

I joined Vindale and have had loads of emails with supposed surveys but so far have not been accepted for any!

I also belong to Qmee and although a lot of their surveys are low paid I don't mind doing them if they only take a couple of minutes. I do them while I am eating breakfast, lunch etc and the money does mount up. Also their webcam surveys pay pretty well.

I am looking at leapforce but am a bit worried about the test. How difficult is it? Also are appen and leapforce the same company or different ones?
