Hello everyone Grin a new month, and a new thread, and a £280 target to hit!

There aren't song rules, as long as you've made some extra cash. So from eBay to remote jobs to saving money by switching your house insurance provider - it all counts.

There's a list below of the sites mentioned in the previous thread, hopefully I haven't missed too many, but add anything else you think of.

@Frenchdoors1 I'm very meh about eBay. Been burned many times on there! I tend to list for collection on there.

Having way more luck with Gumtree to be honest. I sold a heavy item to a lady in Scotland earlier today, and she was quite happy to PayPal me for postage and the cost of them item Smile

OP posts:
blackcat86 · 05/02/2019 18:19

Ebay takes 10% of the final price including the postage charge. Sometimes you also get charged 10p to list an item but they often do free listing events. So of my £17 I also had £8.85 in postage charges paid by buyers = £25.85, so next month eBay will bill £2.59 for their cut. I got a deal so listed for free. I do tend to list a few bits in one go just because it makes sense to post several things at once whilst you're at the post office and you can offer a postage discount for those buying multiple things from you to tempt buyers.

Otterses · 05/02/2019 18:21

@somewhere78 I don't think you're stupid at all! It's hard, the majority of people seem to fail, even ones who study seriously hard for it.

There Grin someone who too, works in IT, builds and tests websites, who also failed first time.

Thanks to all who replied for the info on ebay selling etc. Smile

gonegnome · 05/02/2019 20:30

I never seem to sell stuff on ebay, I don't know if I' starting too high with the price but I'm reluctant to sell something like a coast dress for 99p. I do decent pictures and a full description so i don't know where I'm going wrong!

mamaslave18 · 05/02/2019 20:30

Did Appen take forever to get approved for for anyone else, or just me?!

Bumblebeewine · 05/02/2019 20:38

Would anyone mind talking me through Leapforce or Appen?

Mummabear2212 · 05/02/2019 21:15

Frustrated! Finally got set up for the Truckee project for Appen and the ad rating doesn't work. I can rate but not type any feedback. Have reported so hopefully gets sorted soon!

CourageCalls · 05/02/2019 21:22

Somewhere I failed the test also but they just emailed me asking if I would give it another try?? Confused

I tried really hard as well so not sure what else I can do I just said ok will give it another go Smile

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 05/02/2019 21:25

I heard from Appen almost immediately in the form of something written in German!
I redid my Lionbridge application this morning as I never heard anything, not even an acknowledgement of receipt. I used a different email address as it kept telling me mine was already registered.

Frenchdoors1 · 05/02/2019 21:35

Has anyone tried 'Opinion hive' surveys?

Bbub · 05/02/2019 22:02

Hello all hope everyone is keeping up the momentum (is that the right word/spelling..?)

I finally sorted my trading account and the free share plopped in after a day or 2! If any one wants to follow my referral link it's below :)

Do you want to get a free stock share worth up to £ 100?

Create a Trading212Invest account using this link www.trading212.com/ref/4AoyyPu and we both get a free share!

Bbub · 05/02/2019 22:07

Here is the Cleo link as well for the free £5 that we both get once you set up. I've found it really good so far.

Just popping on to tell you about a great survey site that I joined at weekend. It is called Prizerebel.com

I earned $5 dollars doing surveys on my first day and it was paid into my Paypal account the day after (you can convert it to GBP on Paypal so the amount I earned was £3.74).

I also completed an eye recognition task on Twitter that should earn me $15 dollars if approved (ie I did it right!).

You can complete surveys, do tasks, accept offers, and watch videos. Once you have 500 points (which is equivalent to $5) you can cash out via Paypal or Amazon gift card amongst other rewards.

If you wish to join, I would be very grateful if you could use my referral link. Once you join, you will get your own link. Cheers everyone!

I just posted on the Jan thread but again here is my post for referral link, I find this makes the most money lott.co/go?code=QFTB2 if anyone wants to share theirs I will gladly repay the favour.
Sorry if it's not allowed!

BlockRockinBeats · 06/02/2019 01:36

A few updates from me...

LionBridge

My online application has been accepted. I now need to read the docs they have sent me and complete a T&C questionnaire. After that I will be invited to do the test...arrrgh!

In the info they sent me, they said that many people find the test difficult and so they recommend @ 10 hours preparation. Yikes!

@reddA Good luck in your LionBridge test tomorrow! Hope you will pass on some tips afterwards. I really hope you pass as so many have failed.

@SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock was it you that passed the LionBridge tests? If so, please can you offer any advice or tips to help any newbies. It sounds very difficult to pass so we need all the help we can get. Do you think people are failing on IT ability or English grammar / spelling?

Trading212

@Otterses I have tried to sell me shares on the phone too, but it didn't work ☹️. I have also sent two emails and both have been ignored. Has anyone got a phone number for them?

My theory about not being able to sell your shares if they have lost money does not appear to be true. My Deutsche Telekom shares are now 0.59 in profit yet it still tells me I must buy them in order to sell. Eh?!? One is still showing in the 'pending' box though.

Earlier, I read this in their T&Cs:

3.9. All market sell orders for Referral Shares will be accepted and executed as an aggregated market order at the close of the relevant market by default. We are taking this approach in order to avoid multiple market sell orders for 1 share each as this can be considered as market abuse by the stock exchanges. Limit orders will not be aggregated and will be executed at the price specified by You.

Does this mean that they wait to sell shares in batches as opposed to one at at time? Ie they wait until they have a few to sell? That is my understanding. That might be why they are not yet able to sell mine, ie they haven't got enough yet.

Nielson

I tried to register but they said they don't need anyone else just yet for mobile tracking.

MobileXpression

I signed up for this mobile data tracking service today. After two weeks, they say they will pay you a £10 Amazon voucher. After that, if you continue to allow them to track your data use, they will continue to pay in £10 Amazon vouchers. No idea how good it is or if they even pay out! Has anyone had any success with it?

Postcode Lottery

Thankyou to a PP for the link. I will join. You've gotta be in it to win it!

Twitterlicious

Thank you @Otterses For the link. I have entered 70 comps! Mine are like yours...either gin, whiskey, prosecco prizes, stuff to flog (eg designer perfume and make up) or cold hard cash vouchers! We must tell each other if we win to see if is worthwhile.

BlockRockinBeats · 06/02/2019 01:37

Sorry for all the bold text. I tried to bold my subject headings and buggered it up big style whoops!

BlockRockinBeats · 06/02/2019 02:55

i cannot recommend OhMyDosh! enough.

My total earnings are almost £80 in just two weeks. i cashed out £37.50 to my paypal just a week after joining.

A lot of the paid for tasks ask you to sign up for free trial offers at places such as Amazon Prime and NowTV. If you no longer wish to carry out your membership once joined, you can cancel as soon as you have been paid for most things. Some, you have to be a member for more then 48 hours or up to 4 weeks.

Just be sure to make a list of who you have subscribed to and the date by which you must cancel to avoid fees. I have successfully joined the following, got paid by OMD!, then successfully cancelled my subscription:

which? magazine
SocialLotto
Readly app

I have lots of other free subscriptions such as:

NowTV
Amazon Music
Amazon Prime
GoHenry

The family are actually using them but I need to make sure I cancel the subscription before the free trial ends. i have it all logged in a notebook to make sure.

If you haven't already joined OMD!, you must if you want to earn easy cash just by joining and subscribing to things.

My referral code is below. if you use it, you will get a £1.00 welcome bonus. You can cash out when you reach £10, which is really easy.

Attached is a screenshot to show you how much I have earned and the type of tasks I have completed since 24 Jan 19 for cash rewards

Just joined the free postcode lottery site. The main daily prize starts at £500.

No need to pay upfront, it's FREE.

My referral link is below. You will get your own once registered.

Please can people share their news if they win.

pickmypostcode.com/?ref=2286728k

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 06/02/2019 06:11

Don't know what I am doing wrong with OMD but every single thing I have clicked on opens a new window which says "this is not available" or variations thereof!
Might try it on my phone because the PC "just says no" continuously.

Bumble- I haven't really started (or been accepted) by Appen or Lionbridge but despite how complicated the sites look (esp LB) you just fill in the bumpf and then (after a test) may get accepted to do website monitoring, translating of web stuff if you have languages etc. You have to actually apply for the "jobs" on the pages.

2ellenor2 · 06/02/2019 07:12

Just popping my cleo link on here as it’s due to end this week (Free £5 withdrawable immediately)

pickmypostcode.com/?ref=2286772

Fingers crossed!!

Otterses · 06/02/2019 07:35

@BlockRockinBeats I've been using MobileXpression for a year Grin over £100 in amazon vouchers now. Never had any issues at all. Do Nielson too. Same thing but they pay quarterly.

I'm addicted to comping now 😂 I'm going to make an instagram today and do those too.

Yes! I want to be green with envy over everyone's winnings.

And YES!

Otterses · 06/02/2019 09:12

I accidentally entered to win a meat hamper.

This is clearly what I'm going to win, bring a vegetarian 😂
