Hello everyone Grin a new month, and a new thread, and a £280 target to hit!

There aren't song rules, as long as you've made some extra cash. So from eBay to remote jobs to saving money by switching your house insurance provider - it all counts.

There's a list below of the sites mentioned in the previous thread, hopefully I haven't missed too many, but add anything else you think of.

I’ve finally hit £5 on Prolifica!
I’ve still only been paid for 7 out of 11 studies that I’ve completed. I presume the ones who didn’t pay didn’t accept my submission but I wish they’d say.

2ellenor2 · 04/02/2019 05:58

Oh no... this has come up on my newsfeed on fb for trading212

@2ellenor2 that is worrying. I contacted T212 by email last week to close my account but haven't had a response so just emailed again. Anyone had any luck cancelling?

@Otterses I have been Twitter competitioning this morning as I couldn't sleep. Hoping for a holiday win!!

Otterses · 04/02/2019 06:33

@2ellenor2 I think they are referring to the clause about them reserving the right to claim negative balances? Which means yes, if your stock falls into a negative balance, yes they CAN take money from your account. I'd be interested in knowing what the 'value' of their portfolio is, and if it's fallen into a minus figure at any point.

If you balance I'd at 0, and your account cancelled, you should be fine.

I’m not sure, I know they charge if your account is inactive. Just looked them up on trustpilot and a few people are saying it’s a scam

Otterses · 04/02/2019 07:00

I've had a good look @2ellenor2 - 6.2 is the only clause in there other than the one about inactivity that specifics they can withdraw funds from your account. With stock being so erratic, it's bound to happen at some point. I'd guess the novelty of checking your free stock wears off quite quickly, and you'd easily fall into a negative number without realising.

I'd imagine a lot of people who cry 'scam' are people who either can't withdraw (seems to account for a lot of bad reviews), or were charged after forgetting they had a stock then being charged for inactivity.

I'd still cancel, leave your balance at 0, and email them. Keep a close eye on your account. I emailed just now. Made sure to reference the agreement so they can see I did read it and they shouldn't take the piss 😂 if I don't hear anything, I'll try their life chat on the website.

@GruffalosOldTrousers it's great isn't it? It's so bloody easy it's a bit scary 😂 how many are you on now?

I'm on 82. I figure I'm clearly going to win the worst prize of them all ... the one with two months worth of free vegetables Grin

OP posts:
ChakiraChakra · 04/02/2019 08:23

@Otters I have just received my cancellation notice from T212. Took me forwarding my cancellation request to them again once but it's there. In junk, so check in there too.

Even though I made £11.09 out of it, it took a lot of time effort and concern, and I'm wary of giving so much of my personal data to companies I haven't heard of again. It's one thing giving it to Coral or Ladbrokes, but some of the random offers people are posting I do worry about and am avoiding.

Otterses · 04/02/2019 08:25

@ChakiraChakra totally fair to feel that way! I'm feeling a bit wary too now.

It's worth adding on that note, RedWigWam SO ask for your NI number for Right to Work purposes - in case anyone is put off.

Morning everyone :) This thread moves so fast!

With regards to competitions, the easiest way to do them is to use the MSE thread on their forum 'competitions time', go to the bottom of the page and there is a light grey title called 'display options', change it to 'thread title' 'descending' and 'beginning'.

Then go to a random page, say, 117 and work forwards/backwards until you find tomorrows date (these are all comps ending tomorrow).

Right click on the link to the competition and open in new window, enter the competition (set up your computer to autofill your name/address as it makes things quicker), then close the window, go back to the post on MSE and tick thank you and entered then go back again to the page listings.

If you don't want to enter a particular competition just click on the red X next to the post, once you refresh your page you'll see ticks and crosses so you always know which competitions you have done.

It takes a while in the beginning as you need to register with some websites but once you've been doing it a while it gets a lot quicker, I don't enter FB, Instagram or Twitter comps but there are still plenty of others.

namechangedforanon · 04/02/2019 13:09

I'm going to start comping too let me know how you get on :)

I'm still plugging on Trade212 - one of my shares increased by a few pounds and another dropped by a few pounds. Not sure if I will withdraw as yet!

I'd be quite interested to let them sit and see if I can grow them more but not sure if that is too risky?

My Trade212 Link :
Do you want to get a free stock share worth up to £100?
www.trading212.com/ref/3ikPmfj and we both get a free share!

Re Cashback / Casino offers - which ones have you done? I've done well out of Dunder and Royal Wins! I'd like to do a few more of these but I am not sure if they all payout as mixed reviews on Trustpilot despite good reviews on TCB

namechangedforanon · 04/02/2019 13:23

Also if you are not already putting your entire life through Topcashback / Quidco why not?! Grin Make sure to check who has the best rates.

I ordered my own valentines present through it with 10% cash back plus free shipping and free gift ..... I'm now also on a mission to convert every one of my colleagues into joining us.

Has anyone tried this?

Mummabear2212 · 04/02/2019 13:40

I'm trying to withdraw my Trading 212, but seem completely unable to do so. I've had my shares for a week, so out of the initial 3 day period. When I try and withdraw it says it exceeds the amount available. Its only £23.16 but still...! Help!

Mummabear2212 · 04/02/2019 13:52

Actually, looking at it on Trading 212 £22.16 (value of my shares) is showing as blocked funds. Any ideas?

reddA · 04/02/2019 14:19

I just clicked the X next to mine and it seems to have worked, says they will be sold in the next 24 hours but still showing as blocked funds, I'll let you know.
Got an invite to a well paid online group this morning through populous and I have my lion bridge exam starting Wednesday.
Matched betting is going well, £386 (+ £55 TCB) since I started on 22nd Jan but I have been putting a lot of money into it and signed up to 30+ bookies

I am more confused an frustrated than ever with Trading212. I have three free shares. It has let me sell the most recent one and the money is now available to withdraw.

However, my first two, which are with Deutsche Telekom, are stuck. It says I cannot sell them because I have to buy them first. Eh?!?!?!

I THINK what the issue here is that these two Telekom ones have made a loss. Only by about 26p but I think this is what is the barrier to me being able to sell them and close them. The share I managed to sell quickly and easily had made a whopping 6p profit. I think this is what allowed me to sell it.

Does anyone think my theory might be right? Anyone else who is struggling to sell have shares that have made a loss so far? Wondering if we have to wait until they are in profit before they will let us sell them?

I have emailed and tried live chat. No response. I will resend my email.

Otterses · 04/02/2019 15:42

@BlockRockinBeats I really struggled selling my DTE share. I clicked the sell button on the iPhone version of the site on the left hand side, and it said it would be sold within 24 hours. No idea why it was suddenly working!
