Anyone up for an earn £10 a day challenge this year?

Otterses · 02/01/2019 08:06

I was wondering if anyone would like to join me Smile truth be told I really need the support!

Having DS has reduced my savings, and ability to save now that I'm paying for childcare. So my aim this year is to make £3650, or £10 a day which sounds far less terrifying.

I just thought this would be a great idea to share ideas for earning extra money and cheering each other on. Way better than just staring at a spreadsheet.

Soooooo here it goes.

Day One - £33.37/3650

£22.87 matched betting, and £10.61 Leapforce.

@stopitandtidyupp apart from Yukon, I promise the exams aren't all that bad. There are a few you don't even take exams for.

@lannister ohhh!? I'll go have a nosey over there for some inspiration.

@thenightsky 6 is awesome! And YES Leapforce is worth it it's relatively easy (project depending) extra income. I sit on my arse and watch TV when I do my LF work, t'is marvellous. And reliable. If you get on a project that's even just an hour a week, that's about £45 a month you're likely to get for at least six months (more if you get renewed for the project).

@CaitlinsYellowSocks It would be a fantastic passive income though once you get it up and running, sounds well worth it.

I feel a bit lost. I've tied up all bar £2 in the exchange (will win £38 from MB) but the match isn't till tomorrow 😂 so I'm twiddling my thumbs a bit.

I'm not sure LB is for me. I've had a closer look, and the assign jobs did tasks based on accessing your email account - which I'm not comfortable with. I'm also a bit scared of getting booted off LF Blush

Oh Grin AND MY MEETING.

Technically yesterday I made £100.

A service user was so happy with me, they wanted to gift me some money via my manager. Obviously I can't accept it, so we agreed it would go towards a bit of a leaving 'do' when we start wrapping everything up.

But still. Technically I made £100! And it was nice to actually get some praise for a change.

Nothing to report yet 😔 not heard anything from them. Is lionbridge a similar thing?

Otterses · 13/01/2019 06:40

@OnNaturesCourse it took Leapforce about three weeks to get back to me. Lionbridge is similar, and contacted me within 48 hours Smile

Sent a PA survey this morning. Endless maths questions for £2.48 ... I lost enthusiasm after the 6th set of 10 problems to solve.

Had a really weird email, from a company saying they'd pay you £8 a month to test your router and monitor connection speeds. Sounds quite dodgy, googling led me to whatusersdo and usertesting, so I'm going to do some more research on this one.

Hmmm ... what do you guys think of this? So assuming the value of the pound doesn't plummet after Brexit, I guess around £100 a year from this one.

Marking place :)

Welcome @AspieT Smile

The utest thing sounds good, @Otterses - we don't have the right connection speed, unfortunately.

Finally got a Prolific survey in the middle of the night - £1.10 for answering questions on Brexit...

thenightsky · 13/01/2019 10:03

Otterses That internet speed test thing is bone fide according to DH who works in telecommunications. It has Israeli money behind the company and they are legit. I do have the right criteria to join (BT and a speed of 76). I might do it.

thenightsky · 13/01/2019 10:04

CaitlinsYellowSocks I got that Brexit one too! I got really bogged down ranting about the downside and what a dreadful cock up it all was. I wrote far too much Blush

Otterses · 13/01/2019 10:25

Ohhh thank you @thenightsky ! I'll have a check of our internet speed and see if we're eligible hopefully they'll be a good one for a few of us to do on here. Let me know if you join and send me your referral link so you can get that extra €50.

If you could all distract me from my terrifying MB this afternoon with £120ish up as liability, that would be fab Grin it's the biggest one I've ever done. I know it'll be fine, I've checked and double checked 40 odd times, but I feel a bit sick!

Following this with interest. Already do prolific. Also answered the Brexit one and the maths one this morning! Far too much for my brain on a Sunday.

Looked at Leapforce, but only seem to have web evaluation vacancies at the minute, not sure if it will be too difficult/time consuming.

Happy to do some market research, if anyone has any links they get credit for?

thenightsky · 13/01/2019 10:57

Otterses I'm sure you MB will be fine. You've been doing it a while haven't you? DS is really into it to try and make enough for his airfare so he can visit Japan in the summer. He's doing Accas and everything now, but he is VERY maths savvy (unlike me). I've had him sit beside me to try and teach me, but I don't really get it. Plus I worry that two accounts coming from the same IP address might increase the risk of him getting gubbed.

Otterses · 13/01/2019 10:59

@Mummabear2212 you did better than me by persevering with the Maths one!

Apply for LF anyway. How it works is you register as an agent, you aren't assigned to web search evaluation or anything straight away. Once you're accepted you have to apply for projects once they come up if that makes sense Smile so it changes day to day if things are available to apply for.

OP posts:
Otterses · 13/01/2019 11:02

@thenightsky thank you, and I know I'm being a bit silly Grin it's been checked by a couple of people on PA, so I know it's all fine. I think it's just the first time I've staled that much on one bet!

I'd imagine it would increase his risk of being gubbed. I've seen a fair few sites saying things like only one account per household. How's your DS getting on with it?

OP posts:
Mummabear2212 · 13/01/2019 11:09

@WarmHugs could you pm me your referral link please.

thenightsky · 13/01/2019 11:12

Otterses DS is getting on fine. He is aspie though and tends to make things like this into obsessions. He's making around £10 a day.

Otterses · 13/01/2019 11:48

I think that's amazing @thenightsky! I wish I'd had his focus and determination at his age rather than fannying around.

I've opened up a Halifax account for all my extra earnings. I'm really excited to put my first deposit in there as soon as I get the online accounting stuff through the post.

DS has kindly bothered to get up from his nap now so hopefully he can distract me Grin he's trying his best to learn to walk bless him.

I've been lurking since this started, I did MB a few years ago so have done the sign up bonuses but am trying to get the will/bravery to rejoin one of the guide sites and start looking at reloads/accas etc. We ebayed a load of stuff pre-Christmas but will have a look around and see what else we can find.

I can do overtime at work which would earn more than any of my other little efforts but the hours are antisocial and frankly I don't want to, I'd rather look at things I can do from my sofa!

I got a referral to Shoppix from another thread off here and have signed up to that. You take pictures of your receipts and earn tokens which can be exchanged for cash or vouchers. It's not exactly a get rich quick option I don't think but I decided it was worth it as a little extra because it takes no time at all. If anyone is interested my referral code is 9WWJ1T4J and we'd both get some tokens from it.

Otterses · 13/01/2019 15:07

I've been brave, put on my big girl pants, and emailed LB to ask if they think it's alright if I work for leapforce too, considering it's an unrelated project and not a conflict of interest. I'm sure they'll tell me to go do one :) but it's worth a go, and I don't want to risk losing both accounts if I pass the LB exam.

@tentative3 I totally get that, we'd all like to stay indoors and be cosy and comfy on the sofa! I think it's possible too. We just need to find something that works.

Just applied for various consumer research thingies on People For Research. They advertise for face to face and online research projects (your banking, holidays etc)
Lots of the face to face ones are in Bristol and London (obvs) if any of you are, I've applied for some remote ones. Pay is around £50 for each session you do. Either bank transfer or Amazon vouchers etc.
Am off work tomorrow so am dedicating the day to signing up for all the things on the thread so far!

margaritasbythesea · 13/01/2019 15:24

Hello all, I found this thread yesterday and it has been very interesting. Thank you.

May I ask a question please?

I signed up for prolific Academic and did the introduction, but when I logged in today, it asked me to do it again as if I hadn't done it. Has anyone else had thus problem?

I do populous live surveys. They are well paid at between one and five pounds a time and they never take more than 15-20 minutes. They are infrequent though.

Great thread. Thanks again.

Badgerthebodger · 13/01/2019 15:28

This is really interesting! Can I be a late joiner as well please? I had to give up my job as I’ve become disabled, so little jobs from the sofa are perfect! You’ve inspired me to crack on, so I’ll be having a look at LF and some of the other survey sites. I also like to make things so I might have a look at Etsy - I got a linocut set for Christmas that I haven’t broken out yet but no reason why I couldn’t try and sell prints
