Anyone up for an earn £10 a day challenge this year?

Otterses · 02/01/2019 08:06

I was wondering if anyone would like to join me Smile truth be told I really need the support!

Having DS has reduced my savings, and ability to save now that I'm paying for childcare. So my aim this year is to make £3650, or £10 a day which sounds far less terrifying.

I just thought this would be a great idea to share ideas for earning extra money and cheering each other on. Way better than just staring at a spreadsheet.

Soooooo here it goes.

Day One - £33.37/3650

£22.87 matched betting, and £10.61 Leapforce.

I'm excited to see so many people on here, it makes me feel a bit less crazy with this goal Grin

I'm calling it a day at £21.61.

I heard from a colleague that a fair few people were let go today. I'm due in tomorrow, and I feel quite sick and can't get it out of my head that tomorrow I may be unemployed so I can't really concentrate. I've refreshed my CV, and applied for the grand total of one job within a two hour commute, so I'm going to sit and do some hand wringing instead.

Sorry to read this. I hope it is good news for you tomorrow xxxx

Otterses · 09/01/2019 17:49

Thank you stopit Smile I'm trying not to get too stressed about it. It's silly to when I was planning on leaving at the end of March anyway! All it would do i make the two months in-between a bit tricky financially, but I'm sure we would manage somehow.

It would certainly give me more time to explore money making!

Love this thread and making a list to investigate all these sites!

Otterses · 09/01/2019 18:06

I'm not sure if this'll be any good for anyone, but on workingmums.com they're advertising for CV writers for purplecv - looks like a work from home gig and they pay per piece.

@WarmHugs I would like some more info on the mystery shopping could you PM please and I will give you my email.

Thanks Smile

This thread is great I'm just lurking around picking up all your tips!!

stayathomegardener · 09/01/2019 19:23

Thanks for the pm @WarmHugs.

Looking forward to seeing what's available.

Nothing generated today but it was a NSD (no spend day) so feel in the spirt of things generally.

I'm waiting for planning permission for a new project which should it go ahead will need lots of investment but it's hard to be focused when you don't know what's happening so this thread is perfect to fill time and keep me motivated.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow @ListenLinda

stayathomegardener · 09/01/2019 19:26

Sorry that should have been to @Otterses
Not sure why Linda popped up as the OP.

Long day.

Otterses · 09/01/2019 19:42

I'm sure @ListenLinda would love some luck for tomorrow anyway @stayathomegardener

Exciting update! Lionbridge have emailed some things over for me to sign ... looks like an exam (or three) may be heading my way! Hopefully I'll be able to have a better look into this and feedback on it all.

I'm glad you're finding it useful @CourageCalls

stayathomegardener · 09/01/2019 20:55

Warm hugs you didn't mention the spelling and grammar testsConfused
Dyslexic here so was sweating a bit but passed! Yay.

WarmHugs · 09/01/2019 21:03

Sorry! You all seemed so articulate, I didn’t think it’d be a problem :)

Well done for passing, hopefully you’ll get something interesting soon.

It’s usually tickbox style when you enter your findings, and when they ask you to expand on certain questions, it gives you squiggly lines under any spelling mistakes.

OP, good luck for tomorrow.

namechangedforanon · 09/01/2019 21:18

Hello! Loving this thread . Keen to loosely follow ( have a plateful atm ).

I’ve dabbed in a bit of MB , started with £200 and I’ll be up 380 ish when my cashback clears so have a bank of £580 to play with . Lots more offers to do for me . I use Team Profit , their facebook group is super helpful too .

Also done a bit of online work previously for McCormick and other surveys but need to get in gear ! Xxx

namechangedforanon · 09/01/2019 21:19

Ps I’ve got my fingers crossed for you that everything with your job works out xx

TheABC · 09/01/2019 21:25

Can I join in? Another MB (on oddsmonkey) and fellow leapforce contractor. @Warmhugs, could you PM the mystery shopper details?

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 09/01/2019 21:30

I'm going to join you too.
I have been researching MB for a while and will plunge soon- problem is I'm abroad so reading up on it in English but will have to apply it to Italian sites. Hmm.
Will give the other websites etc a look as well.

startingafresh1 · 09/01/2019 22:25

Thanks for your kind words otter I am sorry that you are going through job worries too. I hope tomorrow doesn't bring bad news for you.

Sadly I've worked for my family for 20 years and we can no longer make ends meet. It's an awful situation, and I am really struggling with the thought of what is to some- all these penny making ideas are helping take my mind off it though.

I need to catch up on the thread and then get stuck into a few more sites.

Otterses · 10/01/2019 07:14

Thank you @startingafresh1, I really can't imagine how difficult that must be after 20 years. I spent the night worrying about it quite a bit to be honest. I'm retraining. But volunteering is a crucial part to it, and if I don't work, I can't afford to commute to my volunteering job, pay for childcare etc. So I would end up pretty stuck career wise. But it's focused me a bit too on building up more money in savings for eventualities like this - if I had £3.5k, I wouldn't have been up worrying!

@BookMeOnTheSudExpress Ohhh! That'll be interesting doing MB from another country. Let us know how you get on.

@TheABC YAY! Another Leapforce person to make me look less like a crazy scammer how long have you been with them?

@namechangedforanon I think I'm going to take a look at
Team Profit, everyone seems to do so well using it!

Well done @stayathomegardener Smile hopefully passing will put some more cash your way.

CaitlinsYellowSocks · 10/01/2019 08:52

Hope everything is ok today @Otterses

My Gumtree listing hasn't gone well so far - the only person who has contacted me looks like a scammer (the wording of their message was identical to a Gumtree scam which has been going for years, so assuming it's the same thing).

And apparently my edited photos aren't high res enough for the stock websites - I have to go back to the RAW files and re-edit.

Will try to register with Leapforce and Lionbridge today.

Otterses · 10/01/2019 14:08

Thank you @CaitlinsYellowSocks . I'm being summoned to a meeting at some point today/tomorrow as and when my manager has time to talk with me. Lots of big head office people in today, and the office is really quiet...

It's a real shame about Gumtree. I'd look at LB and LF though. I'm going to try to have a look at all the LB stuff tonight ... not sure if I should mention that I'm a LF contractor as well. It's a totally irrelevant project to what I've applied to do.

OP posts:
Otterses · 10/01/2019 16:28

I live to work another day! Meeting rescheduled for tomorrow, but my manager says it's all fine and nothing to worry about Confused really getting fed up of living like this. Wish they'd just give us formal notice of redundancy, a date, and stick to it.

Hope everyone has had a successful money making day!

OP posts:
namechangedforanon · 10/01/2019 17:05

I've done a MB casino cashback today won £33 and hopefully will get the £25 cashback but not guarenteed .

The Team Profit FB group is honestly so so helpful, they probably think I am a noob haha.

Otterses · 10/01/2019 17:09

Oh! Well done @namechangedforanon. Who was that with?

OP posts:
CourageCalls · 10/01/2019 18:17

I have signed up for prolific today and done £6.68 worth of studies. Only 50p has cleared though. Does anyone who uses this site know if the money always clears or is the money dependant on how good your answers are?

Thanks

SoftlyCatchyMonkey1 · 10/01/2019 18:55

Following!
Have signed up with profit accumulator but haven’t started yet

Namechangedzzz · 10/01/2019 19:09

couragecalls it always clears. as long as you answer all the questions it doesn't matter how you answer them. It just relies on the researcher to log on and authorise it. Sometimes they take a day or two
