Anyone up for an earn £10 a day challenge this year?

Otterses · 02/01/2019 08:06

I was wondering if anyone would like to join me Smile truth be told I really need the support!

Having DS has reduced my savings, and ability to save now that I'm paying for childcare. So my aim this year is to make £3650, or £10 a day which sounds far less terrifying.

I just thought this would be a great idea to share ideas for earning extra money and cheering each other on. Way better than just staring at a spreadsheet.

Soooooo here it goes.

Day One - £33.37/3650

£22.87 matched betting, and £10.61 Leapforce.

P. S. If anyone is interested in buying things on Google play then Google play rewards is a good app. Each survey takes seconds and earns usually between 6p and 20p credit.

I keep doing it even though I have no idea what I would like to buy from Google Play!

MyShinyThing · 13/01/2019 17:23

Can I dip my toe in please? Match betting scares me but I used to do a lot of the survey & shopping scan things. I've fallen out of the habit but am trying to get back into it.

BetterPoints is a good one if you live in the right area. www.betterpoints.uk

It uses the activity tracker on your phone & basically pays you to walk! In my area it's backed by the local council to try to get people fitter. It pays pennies and its vouchers only but it all adds up. Can I be cheeky & add my referral code if anyone wants it. VXTT-XGVM

I'm so glad this thread is inspiring so many people! Hopefully we can spur each other on this year. I really think there are some amazing opportunities out there (and ones we haven't discovered yet).

I won into the exchange Grin which is always a relief. Makes everything less annoying with withdrawing and depositing.

£38 MB today, and £10.61 LF - so a really good day today Smile going to have a look at my router in a minute to see if I can make use of the U-Test thing.

Thanks for this. It has inspired me to get out and make a bit of extra money.

Otterses · 13/01/2019 19:52

Anyone who's just starting out with MB, Paddypower have a great deal on at the moment via Quidco, you get £10 cash back for wagering £10, plus a £20 refund if your bet loses.

Just a friendly reminder to always check for cash back.

Glad you're feeling inspired @NetballHoop

Bloody hell otter I'd have to work a whole a day in my old NHS job to earn just less than that!

Mummabear2212 · 14/01/2019 06:03

Not sure I'm brave enough to dip my toe into MB. Seems to work for some people though.

CaitlinsYellowSocks · 14/01/2019 06:26

Well done @Otterses!

Mummabear2212 · 14/01/2019 06:30

@Otterses great work. You must be making real headway into your target as well.

startingafresh1 · 14/01/2019 07:30

Wow well done Otter. I don't use cashback. I'm stupid not to have sorted it. I'll investigate.

IntentsAndPorpoises · 14/01/2019 08:21

I don't have the head space for matched betting. I put the milk in the washing machine the other day.

Otterses · 14/01/2019 08:40

@Mummabear2212 I think I'm about 8-9% of the way there! Although I'm very aware Leapforce could end for me at any time.

@startingafresh1 You're not stupid, I forget quite often which I kick myself for as it's free money.

@thenightsky I don't know if it's exciting or depressing that MB'ing earns more in an hour than we get at work in a day.

I signed up to the U-Test Academy, planning to do it tonight or Thursday, the woman who earned $20,000 on there really made me think twice about getting on there.

Hope everyone has a productive day Smile

Joining today! I am on the last 3 months of mat leave so have no income. I’m on prolific already, but need to get going with it again. I’ve used your code tentative3 for shoppix. I use VYPR as well, even though it’s a slow burn.

Otterses · 14/01/2019 09:43

Hi there @hiptobeasquare Smile

I wish I'd done what you're doing while on Mat leave, I probably could have had a few more months off!

treaclesoda · 14/01/2019 09:46

I'd love to join in. I've done those survey sites in the past, when I was a sahm but it used to really piss me because sometimes I would spend ages filling in a really long survey, pages and pages of questions and then I'd submit it and it would say 'sorry, you don't match our requirements'. Wouldn't be so bad if it did that up front, but to tell you that after you've done the survey was just Angry

margaritasbythesea · 14/01/2019 10:31

Good morning everyone.

I contacted Prolific Academic about the problem I was having (being asked to do the initial test - survey again). They got back to me (really quickly!) to tell me that it is a known bug and that the request to do the survey should disappear in a couple of days and new surveys appear.

A question: do you have to login to Prolific Academic to find surveys, or do they email you. like Populus Live?

I signed up for the uTest academy just now. It looks a bit daunting! Maybe that is just to put people off who aren´t serious (crosses fingers).

thenightsky · 14/01/2019 10:45

I joined Prolific on Friday night and my initial test survey is still showing too. I did do it again on Saturday to see if it would disappear, but no, its still there.

They don't email you when a new survey pops up. You have to look on the survey page yourself. I've done 6 since Friday night. Nothing all day Sunday.

Otterses · 14/01/2019 10:45

@margaritasbythesea I find it a bit bit and miss! I don't often get emails, but if I sign in there's often surveys. Best to check every so often I think.

UTest looks terrifying Grin but I'm sure if we read the guidelines, and take our time, we'll be fine. Apparently it's key to getting invited to other projects.

I cashed out through PayPal on prolific but I have seen nothing in my paypal account! Has anyone e had this with a first payment does it take awhile??
Thanks

Mummabear2212 · 14/01/2019 10:52

@CourageCalls Prolific pay out on a Tuesday or Saturday so regardless of when you cash out you will only be paid on these days. Once, I wasn't paid, emailed and they dealt with it straight away and put my £20 straight into my Circle account.

CourageCalls · 14/01/2019 10:59

Ok thanks I cashed out on Saturday so hopefully will hit the next pay round
Cheers
