Lonelybutnice - If this is a payment that was automatically taken from your visa debit card ,it is a “continous authority” ,i would advise you contact your bank if so,and ask them to put a cancellation request up for FL ,so if they do take further payments again next month, you will have chargeback rights to charge any further payments taken , back to your account. In relation to the payment already taken ,i would advise u ask them about this too, u may be still able to dispute this transaction!

@Twentytwentyhindsight She was a childminder, I know because she says she is on facebook and she comes across to me as a truthful type of person.

For what you say to be true she would have to be a lying sack of crap, which is absurd. She would have to be the type of person who will happily use people for their money and then toss them aside when they are of no use to her, I just can't see her doing that. She would have to be the type of person who cares about nobody else but herself, but again, that's absurd to even think that way.

Most importantly, for what you are saying to be the truth she would have to have spent the first 4 months of the year hinting that she was travelling to Dallas to receive a cheque with many zeroes on, and then not get a cheque. As if that would happen, that is the most unlikely thing that i've ever heard.

Nope, she was definitely a childminder, definitely.

PMing intended victims just out of nowhere with the 'business oppurtunity' should now not take place.

If someone writes the words 'PM me Hun x' when you've posted something asking if anyone is interested in your business opportunity is likely okay.

PMing someone who has posted on their personal facebook or a friends facebook without them asking for one shouldn't be allowed.

Or at least I think that is how it works.

@Whiterangey - I beg to differ. She did get a sum made up of multiple zeroes in Dallas. So many zeroes that they couldn't fit them all on a cheque.

I truly can’t go out and sit in a cafe to work on my own genuine work at home business marketing plan (outside of my studio where I tend to be distracted by the parts of the job I enjoy more) without having to tune out some MLM sales pitch going on nearby. Today it’s Limitless Weight Loss and it’s a 3 on 1 pitch complete with recommendations that this enrollee either get her boyfriend on board or ditch him since clearly if he isn’t on board with her decision to do this weight loss plan then he is against her and doesn’t want the same things she does. INSIDEOUS!!!!

sshuga · 24/05/2018 19:53

Oh forgive me it’s 2 on 2 and they split off male/male, female/female for a bit then came back together to tag team them again. It’s been going on since before I walked in nearly an hour and a half ago.

Toobusytowee · 24/05/2018 20:33

PopPopRadio, I have duly amended the article.

BSintolerant · 24/05/2018 22:22

"If a little, unconfident childminder from Worcester can do it .... you can too"

Little? Hmm

Wait, is she saying she used to look after small children who weren't very confident?

And I had no idea that hailing from Worcester was such a handicap. Poor Yawn, my heart bleeds for her. Worcester might be a botspot (that's Botshite for a hotspot for botual activity) but it's got nothing on Birkenhead. Grin

Hi Everyone,

Been watching this forum avidly since the BBC Stories piece on MLM's a couple of months ago

I despise this industry for my own personal reasons that I won't go into, but I just want to say that this forum and also Botwatch, Elle Beau, Timeless Vie and Ethan Vanderbuilt are clearly striking massive blows to the MLM industry in the UK and long may it continue.

You all probably have saved a lot of people from getting involved in these companies and on behalf of myself and the other lurkers on here I say a huge thank you for your efforts.

I don’t understand how they try to down play “real jobs”.

So... I’m my real job I have a set salary. I know what I’ll earn every month.

I have paid annual leave.

I have a pension.

I have 6 months full pay sick leave followed but six months half paid sick leave (if something catastrophic happened)

I have flexibility time.

I have a right to time off for dependents.

My work is great, if my child is taken poorly, I’m allowed to leave work to go and rescue him.

I have weekends and bank holidays with no work.

Maybe I’m just lucky in my work place but surely most of these things are everyone’s rights?

Jonsey32 · 24/05/2018 22:45

*flexi time

Jonsey32 · 24/05/2018 22:46

But I guess, yes I do pay for child care. That won’t be forever though.

Paddy1234 · 24/05/2018 23:16

If I see another improve your mindset post and your business will fly, with my guidance, from another failed business person/mlm I will scream.

Paddy1234 · 24/05/2018 23:17

They are not qualified to deliver on the back of MLM ffs

Toobusytowee · 25/05/2018 00:14

9dartfinish, welcome and thank you.

I do wonder sometimes just how many people have been put off joining or managed to see the light and leave MLM due to the efforts of the #antiMLMmovement.

It would be interesting to hear from any lurkers that we have helped.

cozietoesie · 25/05/2018 00:34

One is enough, Toobusy. Wink

I truly believe, now, that 'forewarned is forearmed'. If anyone has left an MLM because of your sterling work, that would be a MASSIVE bonus. I'd always concentrate on preventing MLM incursions in the first place. Once you're in, they're VERY strong. (While you still have any assets.)

Whiterangey · 25/05/2018 02:06

It's all helping, the blogs, the facebook pages, everything.

Funnily enough the anti-mlm movement happens like this:

One person posts an article on a blog/facebook/whatever
Two people share it or gain knowledge from it
They each share their knowledge or the post where more people gain knowledge about how shit MLM's are.
Then those people will go out and share the information with even more people.
Then the even more people will share it with even more people.

Then you have exhausted all the people who don't know that MLM's are shit, so now everyone knows and there is nobody left to educate.

Then with everyone educated and nobody more to educate it's mission accomplished and you get a huge cheque at the global rally.

Or you pull a Yawn, no cheque, but you get the satisfaction that you were part of educating tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people about MLM's.

Two friends are talking, as friends tend to do. Friend A tells Friend B about how she has set up a meeting with some dickhead about this amazing new opportunity to make some cash and it's called Forever Living. Friend B urges cautions and says "I read something about them on a friends facebook about how they are going broke or something, let me find it".

Friend B pulls up facebook post and blog link, Friend A reads blog post and becomes one of the increasing number of couldhavebeenbots who fail to show up to their face to face meeting with bots. Bot posts on facebook how someone was stupid enough not to take up the opportunity.

Friend A is grateful to Friend B and they share a bottle of Prosecco and spend an enjoyable few hours having a bit of a laugh.

I don't have a single friend, or anyone on my facebook who doesn't hate MLM's, from those who know they are evil, to those who know that the most hated people on facebook are those trying to sell or recruit for MLM's. Amongst normal people MLMers are the most hated.

They are ridiculed, hated, and taken the piss out of, and not just by us.
