peaheadz I have sausage fingers. No doubt Forever Fibbing has a cure for that!

It's not you, you're not a failure. Forever Living and its shills at the top have failed and conned you into lining their pockets very much at your expense. Anyone can get drawn into schemes like this - it makes me bloody angry.

When is the government going to wake up and ban network marketing schemes?

You're very wise to have realised it's a crock of shit. You're not the only one - I've noticed some FL bots (including managers) have removed all references, subtle hints, and links to business pages on their social media accounts. In some cases they've deleted their business page accounts. Good for them!

Thank you for telling your story. 😊

Peaheadz · 17/11/2017 10:30

I was involved for 7 years. I had just graduated from uni and was looking for a job. It seemed like the ideal solution to my money worries. But outside people weren’t interested. My friends were wondering why all the top reps were making money and I wasn’t.

I thought that I was not explaining the benefits of the products well enough, or I was not engaging with people in order to buy from me.

I never bought my 4ccs in. I could not afford to do that.

I also saw people come and go and wondered why they left. I saw people who had achieved promotions and then they left. I was surprised because l thought they were earning lots of money.
I mean why would you leave if the money was good. I now know that they probably weren’t earning very much at all.

Spongebobette · 17/11/2017 10:34

FL won't disclose their average income details
I wonder why?
Arbonne does, and if makes grim reading.

BSintolerant · 17/11/2017 10:37

janicebattersby Have the photos of gurning bots with oversized cheques disappeared because they could be seen as making exaggerated claims about income?

They're probably worried that the MLM Resistance will make unfavourable comparisons with last year's cheques.

Perhaps they're worried by the Inland Revenue - sudden audits must cause a lot of unnecessary discomfort - especially if the income claims don't quite add up. Wink

BSintolerant · 17/11/2017 10:41

peaheadz You're very brave to have got out after seven years. Was it mindset training that kept you going?

How much are you expected to spend every month on products to keep your status?

Peaheadz · 17/11/2017 11:03

It was all the mindset training. Plus I had a boyfriend that kept saying it was rubbish and I wanted to prove him wrong. I didn’t spend any more than I needed to. I don’t think that you had to do a minimum spend to keep your status, but I never went above the lowest level.

Spongebobette · 17/11/2017 11:07

I'm glad you didn't get into debt Peas, you must have resisted the pressure to 'be your own best customer'

The mindset training, mindset blueprints etc etc are so culty.

DoratheExplorer17 · 17/11/2017 11:57

@Peaheadz

I was in FL for four years. I kept plugging away. Did ok for myself and was convinced that my success was merely just round the corner. It made me ill, my income dropped and I ended up in loads of debt. I got out before I lost my house and I'm now happily back at work and love my weekends and evenings doing what I want. I don't care about earning millions or materialistic items. I just want to enjoy my family and friends.

Since I've got out, I've realised just how manipulative the whole industry is and FL are one of the best at making you stay. Just because you didn't become a top bot...it is NOT your fault. You obviously put your heart and soul into it and kept your business going. Honestly I have zero regrets and you will see that you have made the right decision to walk away.

If you want to PM me I'm happy to talk in private if you'd prefer. Jut in case you don't want to be 'outed' on these threads x

Well said, Dora. Smile

Peaheadz · 17/11/2017 14:54

Thanks everyone.

We all had to attend every training even if you had been to it before. The message was that you will pick something else up. Everyone had to attend all the success days or you were seen as not taking your business seriously. I only went to a few and dragged my partner to one. To be fair he liked the products and enjoyed that part of the training.

They make it look so easy and all the top bots get a rock stars welcome at these events. It was mostly them showing pics of there holidays and homes and how wonderful their lives were.

I always felt like I had to tell people about it. I am now glad I don’t and can just relax.

Peaheadz · 17/11/2017 14:56

It all makes you think that you can achieve that if you try hard enough.

Just getting it all out.

cozietoesie · 17/11/2017 15:34

Ha. Just take a look at the MLM income figures - where available! (They aren’t available for many.)

cozietoesie · 17/11/2017 16:06

Pea

If you ever feel yourself weakening, just have a watch of this. (It’s maybe not so fresh but it’s still good.)

DoratheExplorer17 · 17/11/2017 18:24

Pea absolutely. You can't go anywhere without trying to get people's phone numbers or adding people on Facebook. You will love the fact that you can go out and just have a conversation with people. No ulterior motive, just a genuinely lovely conversation. And if you do swap details it's because you want to keep in touch for a genuine reason. Not so that you can sell them a product or try and convince them to join your team. It's a new found sense of freedom. It's very liberating!

Some of the new Organo Gold (ex-LTW/Valentus/Vida Divina/Xerveo) bots are off to Milan for their "conference", so cue ear-splitting eeeeeeeeeeking FB Live videos and hair-straiteners at the ready.

It's misleading how many of them are touting this as some kind of free ride, because obviously it really isn't. The tickets for the conference average at around £200, and the tickets for the "Gala Dinner" are available only for the top tier tickets (£275 approx.) On top of this is the cost for hotels, flights, clothes, spending money etc. So, perhaps a conservative guess for the cost of the weekend would be maybe around £500-£600?

I'm not on the world's best salary, I'm not very ambitious (I definitely would not make Hun material, I guess), and I'm not totally skinny flat broke either, but there's just no way I could afford five hundred quid for a weekend at a MLM conference when Christmas is just around the corner. That this company is happy to take this kind of money from people is just one more thing which makes MLM immoral and corrupt to me. That Organo Gold seems to have brainwashed these folks into believing that they are doing them a favour, as the Bots hand over 200+ quid on a conference ticket, is not only really startling, it's depressing, too.

cozietoesie · 17/11/2017 19:19

I’ve always had .......just a feeling that the heavy expenditure for MLM activity is put on plastic. (So people can feel that they’re succeeding if they have a jar stuffed with smaller currency. Nice and tangible.) And then the plastic maxes......?

Spongebobette · 17/11/2017 19:35

I would be outraged if my employer charged me to go to conferences or for training

cozietoesie · 17/11/2017 22:33

That’s a drawback of the John Oliver piece. They don’t touch on costs of/profits from ......various materials and events, if I recall?

SSDGM · 18/11/2017 08:15

I’ve been to 2 conferences over seas in the last two months and didn’t even pay for my G&T on the flight.

BSintolerant · 18/11/2017 08:38

Speaking of flights, do you remember those Facebook posts where a bot had photoshopped a plane with a Forever Living logo? Dear me! Grin

Spongebobette · 18/11/2017 09:48

Oh yes that was hilarious! And so many bots put it on their pages, even if they hadn't gone to the event

Peaheadz · 18/11/2017 11:47

Oh yeah. I saw that as well. Talk about making it look like a group trip.

SSDGM · 18/11/2017 12:00

THANGbot has gone a bit mental. She’s gone from slagging off Lipbot and Porschebot et al to a full, rambling public apology while they were present at the airport and now at some huge convention hall in Milan saying “if your job isn’t like this then you need to change your job!” Because other people are getting awards.
A few posts on Facebook can change your children’s lives, apparently. It can also screw up your chances of ever working in legitimate business too when recruiters get a look at your social media profile.

Poor old Brokebot is still at home, copying and pasting posts from his upline. Crying into his Gano hot chocolate.

Spongebobette · 18/11/2017 12:04

I do think that threads such as this one, and Botwatch, Timeless Vie and MLM Lies have had some impact; I used to see claims such as ‘willable/ residual income’ or ‘work hard for 3-5 years then retire’ or ‘6 figure income’ or implying that you could replace a full time salary in a couple of hours work a day. These seem to have disappeared.
Now it's all about how wonderful it is working in a team, empowering other women, building an 'additional' income/ pot of money

SSDGM · 18/11/2017 12:10

Can someone tell Brokebot that “Rapport” isn’t pronounced “report”, please?

Count Arthur Strong would be proud of some of his malapropisms.
