Paddy Powers 2Up offer is also a good one

FreckledLeopard · 29/11/2017 16:30

Lay in sequential ACCAs are guaranteed a profit (unless the lay odds drastically change from the time you start the ACCA until the time it finishes. For example, if the lay odds for the 4th leg of the ACCA were. 1.21 and they then drift, over several days, to 1.35, then your profitability will be reduced. Having said that, the odds can improve too, increasing your profit. You can also use the odds boost on Ladbrokes (unless you're gubbed like me) to boost the overall profitability of the ACCA which is good if all teams win.

Karcheer · 29/11/2017 17:28

How long after you started did you start doing more complex things? I've pretty much got my head round a basic you bet x we give you a y free bet. But everything else sounds so much more complicated, guess I need to watch the videos! Do you think I should work through all the starter deals first, I'm getting emails from bookies now for offers I don't really understand yet :/...

mamahanji · 29/11/2017 17:57

I'm 29 days in and this week I've started the not bet x get y ones.

I've done a few in play bets and bet x and if you lose get y or bet x and we give x to make xx.

I joined oddsmonkey with their 50% off first month offer. I think it's still valid. They also offer and 1-1 training session about anything you like. I might book one of those so I can speak to someone and ask questions about the more complex stuff I'm not getting.

I'm feeling the waters for accas as that's my next step I think.

Canadianviews · 29/11/2017 18:33

I feel exactly like you Karcheer!

I am getting so many offers daily now but haven’t quite worked my way through the sign up offers yet and when I do which should be by the end of the week, I honestly have no idea what to do. It all sounds so complicated to me Confused

FreckledLeopard · 29/11/2017 19:49

I'd definitely recommend signing up to oddsmonkey if you haven't already. I think I did their initial offer of a £1 membership for first month (from a team profit link - they're also brilliant and super helpful if you haven't already found them!). There are so many guides and there's also almost immediate help if you raise a query. Their daily offer calendar is second to none. My profits have gone up a lot since I joined.

Canadianviews · 29/11/2017 20:25

I’m with Oddsmonkey and am just going through the guides now on the reloads...but they’re pretty crap? It’s not like the initial offer guides where it is literally a step by step guide...the reload guides seem to have skipped about 5 weeks worth of MB, assume you’re a ‘pro’ and read quite technical? If you’ve never bet before (or at least anything other than horses) then going into casino offers etc is hard, I honestly have no idea where to start or what I’m doing and I naively thought that Oddsmonkey would walk through/ hand hold through the reloads like they did the sign up offers... but no, unless I’ve missed something Sad

SharonNE · 29/11/2017 21:48

Matchedbets.com have been good with me. They have live chat support so you can pop on whenever you have a question. Big help! Especially in my early days. I think there's a £1 Premium offer kicking around somewhere

ItsNachoCheese · 29/11/2017 22:20

I posted upthread a day or so ago as im interested in matched betting. I already have a betfair and coral account. Does matched betting only work when its a new account opening and are you better having a decent sized pot (perhaps £30ish own £) to start with?

Canadianviews · 29/11/2017 23:02

It’s Nachos, there are plenty of bookies to sign up with so don’t let having a Betfair or Coral account put you off.

Ideally you’ll need at least £100 to start as the liability amounts in your Betfair account may be large if you have odds of 5 or over.

ItsNachoCheese · 29/11/2017 23:05

Perhaps ill hold off til xmas is out the way that way i can save a wee bit of cash for my pot

FreckledLeopard · 30/11/2017 12:57

Canadianviews - what are you struggling with? Have you looked at Team Profit too? Let me know - I'll see if I might be able to help!

Shnazzyshot · 30/11/2017 18:45

I'm struggling with accas too. I've read the guides on iddsmonkey which I get.... but I just can't get my head round them properly.

Karcheer · 30/11/2017 19:40

I have a question...

I have a bet on Saturday with odds of 5.25 at the bookies (this is a £20 free bet).
I matched it at the exchange with odds of 5.6. With liability of £70.47 (this amount keeps changing -why?)

Anyway, the odds at the exchange are now 5.3, which obviously would be a better match for me.

If I cash out my 5.6 bet it gives me amounts of £69.26 (profit -£1.21)

If I put 5.3 odds into my calculator I get liability £69.62.

Does this mean I'm better I'm better sticking where I am? I think it does but I'm not sure why?!?!?

If the odds reduce further should I jump? Or is this just another lesson learnt?

Karcheer · 30/11/2017 19:46

Ok think I've worked it out.

If I stick I'll make £14.53

If I move I'll pay £1.21 for cashing out.
I'll make £15.38 from the better odds, but I need to subtract £1.21, therefore profit = £14.17 so not worth it.

Karcheer · 02/12/2017 18:55

Hi All,

Think I killed the thread Blush

All my money has ended up in the exchange, so transferring some back so I can do some more new bets next week...

mamahanji · 02/12/2017 20:44

Hiya

I'm really feeling the monotony of this now. It's like a bloody job. I did 6 qualifying bets today and with 2 small children it felt like it took 5 hours! It probably did.

Ugh. I know it will get easier and quicker the more I do it. I'm still bricking it about accas but know I have to start sometime.

I don't think I'll make able to do the lay sequentially method, as I can't guarantee I will be free to do it with a baby and a preschooler!

My money is now all spread out over 2 exchanges and about 8 different bookies and in now spending ages withdrawing it all and putting it back into my dedicated bank and the exchanges. Blergh

MissFitton · 03/12/2017 14:42

mama - it will get quicker but, yes, after a while it's a bit like a job. I'm treating it as such though and starting to think about hours put in and profit made. If I'm aiming to make £500 a month from it then it would seem I will have to put some hours in. Paying off my mortgage early is worth it to me though!

mamahanji · 03/12/2017 16:57

I've already had to explain to my partner that it isn't as simple as betting £100 and making £80. I showed him a break down of it and he was shocked by the profits. I'm £350 up and the last few weeks have been £3 Profit £4 Profit.

He was annoyed that yesterday I spent hours on my tablet placing loads of qualifying bets. And I told him I would make about £7 Profit. Which seems crazy for the amount of hours it took me. But the whole point is...I can do it around the children! I have a 3 and a 1 year old. Me doing a few hours in the day and a few hours in the evening will be the same or more than me working 1 whole day a week.

This means we can pay off his debts twice as fast AND possibly afford a holiday!

It's going to be the same as a job. And will require hours or work. He thought it was going to be quick and easy 😂

MissFitton · 03/12/2017 19:10

Just looking at my spreadsheet - last month I made a total of 228 separate bets and came out just under £200 profit. I know if I concentrate on reducing my QL and increasing my free bet profits that will be more. It's just a case of plowing through the bets and getting as quick at it as possible!

OP posts:
Karcheer · 03/12/2017 19:29

I was surprised how long it takes and at the moment how much waiting between bets because of cash flow.
I'm definitely going to treat it as a job in the new year.

DottyDotAgain · 03/12/2017 22:22

HI - yes I agree it's like a job - but I think that's a good way of looking at it - rather than something exciting or thrilling - for me, that would make it too scary or tempting to start gambling, rather than MBing. Each bet only makes small amounts for me now, but I'm starting to do the weekly free bets and am still trundling through some of the welcome offers. The tricky bit is remembering each day what I've got to do!

Haven't tried anything other than straightforward MB on football matches yet, but I've booked a 1:1 session with Odds Monkey for December 13th, which I'm very excited about Grin. Am going to start drawing up a list of questions about ACCAs and multiples and horse racing, as I have no clue..!

Really like the Oddsmonkey MB tool - automatically gives you the best matches to bet on and you can save different versions for different bookmakers - I can see that it's going to make the weekly offers much quicker now I've got a few set up - to start this week.

Am about £300 up after a month - feels slow, but I wouldn't have had it otherwise and we desperately need a new boiler, so I'm keeping going..!

therealposieparker · 04/12/2017 14:21

Do you just keep your money in the betting sites or take it out?

I messed up by using 3 of my free bets with Coral on bets that I didn't match because I didn't have enough in Betfair.

Am I just rushing?

I've put in £67 worth of deposits and have withdrawn or have in the sites £71.90.... so do I now bet that money or wait for another round of free bets?

mamahanji · 04/12/2017 15:20

Anyone else seen that paddy power offer 2 lots of free bets? £10 if I bet £50 and £5 if I bet £25

I think I triggered both over the weekend and I've just used both free bets now. They're in my pending bonus again...

titchy · 04/12/2017 15:45

Thereal... only use that money on qualifying bets, i.e. Ones that will trigger a free bet..
