Thanks all - that's put my mind at ease. I'll just have to wait and see what happens at 16:50!

twinkledag · 26/09/2018 16:45

Good luck @RhubarbCrumbled!!

I've just used my 4 x £5 free bets at William Hill. I'm still looking at odds around the 4 mark. Is that right?

Underworld345 · 27/09/2018 07:26

@twinkle for your free bet as high odds as your bank will allow to cover liability at the closest match. Have you got oddsmonkey?

twinkledag · 27/09/2018 09:03

@Underworld345 - ah now I keep taking out my winnings and then making bets with the odds around 4! I think I'm scared there'll take my winnings off me 😂

I only started on Sunday so I think I need to be cautious until I really know what I'm doing

What odds do you usually go for?

gttia · 27/09/2018 09:22

I'm going to start this today, off work recovering from surgery so can use the time to make money!

They can't take winnings off you 😊. The most they can do is close your account but legally they will always have to return all funds to do. Provided you haven't breached the terms or not completed any wagering

twinkledag · 27/09/2018 10:18

Thanks @mamahanji! I won nearly £50 on free spins the other night and withdrew the money straightaway 😂

You're much more experience than I am - what odds do you go for and what sort of profit can you make from those odds?

NewYoiker · 27/09/2018 10:56

We're up to £267!! Since Sunday 16th September!

mamahanji · 27/09/2018 11:03

I aim for 80% bet retention. So from a £10 free bet, I want at least £8.

I would want odds of around 8+ with close back and lay odds.

RhubarbCrumbled · 27/09/2018 11:41

Thanks for all the advice! It all went to plan and I returned £4.53 from a £5 free bet. Happy with that! So far I'm up to £53 since Sunday and I haven't been going mad. Only up to WH on the opening offers on Profit Accumulator and a couple of extras from Coral and BFred.

Just for the record (and because it helped me know what to expect) I started with £250.

HilaryBriss · 27/09/2018 12:46

Do any of the experienced MB's do casino offers? I signed up to one with Betway last night but bet 50p then chickened out!

It was for live casino and the guide said to use blackjack. Fine, I know how to play blackjack but I have only ever played the computer graphics based ones, this live one is a whole new ballgame to me!!

There were 5 spaces around the table, should my user name appear next to one of them? I wagered 50p and clicked one of the places but my 50p then appeared to be backing another player and I didn't have to stand/hit or anything, I just watched the play. Is that how live casino works or should I be playing as usual?

Thanks!

twinkledag · 27/09/2018 13:02

Thanks @mamahanji

mamahanji · 27/09/2018 13:05

Hilary

I do a lot of casino offers. They are great but only if you have a bankroll to support the swings of variance.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to do them without a bankroll of £2k pure profit. And nothing more than 1% of their bank in low risk offers.

Also blackjack is 99.5% rtp when using the perfect blackjack strategy guide.

HilaryBriss · 27/09/2018 13:33

Thanks, I think I will chalk my -50p up to experience and not bother with the rest just yet!

mamahanji · 27/09/2018 14:04

Hilary

There are free offers that are worth doing if you are interested. Where they offer you a small amount of spins for nothing.

cheesemongery · 27/09/2018 14:42

Hi Hilary, I've done a couple of free spin offers and a bingo one but didn't win much - certainly nowhere near enough to wager the high odds to withdraw. I find that part too addictive too.

Haven't been doing much this week as have not felt well. Have just done a reload for Betvictor. £10 for £5 free. Still have loads of the free offers to sign up to still - I just don't like to do it when feel like crap and can't think straight!

cheesemongery · 27/09/2018 14:47

*too addictive though.

Yep, couldn't possibly be trusted with a bet at the moment!

I have enough in the exchange to go for the Bet £100 get £100, but I am waiting because a mistake on that would be disastrous.

gttia · 27/09/2018 15:57

My betting slips on bet fair aren't showing. I'm so upset. It's messed up on the first go

mamahanji · 27/09/2018 16:09

Make sure you are checking 'matched bets' and are on the exchange not the sports book

cheesemongery · 27/09/2018 16:21

As mamahanji said make sure when you click my bets you choose matched bets as the default is unmatched - gave me a panic too!

gttia · 27/09/2018 16:45

It worked, thank you so much! And I'm up £23!!!

twinkledag · 28/09/2018 07:53

Grrr I lost a tenner on the Games at William Hill. Didn't read the wagering requirements properly! Lesson learned. Back to the football where I know what I'm doing!

TiaMariaAndCoke · 28/09/2018 07:59

Hilary - I do primarily casino offers. Up 150 this morning on low-risk and haven't placed a single sports bet yet.

Sounds like you've placed a "bet behind" which means you're just on the coat-tails of the other person. If they twist on 18 they're a numpty.

cheesemongery · 28/09/2018 09:05

Hi Tia, can I ask what you consider low risk? I'm not very up on the casino side of things, I have tried Roulette and slots but have always lost any freebie

TiaMariaAndCoke · 28/09/2018 14:03

Almost anything from the major bookies. This morning I did the William hill offers, Ladbrokes and coral. Betfair and paddy are currently doing a very good deal on a risk-free side bet on blackjack between 8 and 10 pm. My method is to open the "low 6" table, place a £5 bet and the the £5 on the side. If you win the hand you get £10 and also the £5 back the day after. If you lose you still get £5 back - but if you get BJ or win the side bet (I have twice this week) then you're quids in. I consider that deal low-risk.
