Screenshot on the MLM lies FB page. A bot was creaming her designer knickers at Dodgy Dave and how they are all going to PREVAIL or some crap.

Jonsey32 · 30/10/2017 15:53

What does the fact that they’re going live actually mean?
Does it simply mean that they can resell it which they’ve all been doing all along anyway? And they can recruit, which they’ve all been doing all along anyway?
If they’ve all had it on auto ship for months and they haven’t been able to resell, what happens to all the illegal stock that they’ve acquired?

cozietoesie · 30/10/2017 15:58

Their plastic will take a hit.

msgyouhuns · 30/10/2017 20:49

So after brokeflatbot said he won't go back to mlm...him and his teamies are mind blown by some #legal (cos being legal is something to brag about these days) company their joining. Anyone know which coffee company this could be? Are any of them actually legal?

ProseccoPoppy · 30/10/2017 21:27

My lovely secretary seems to be getting really hooked in to Herbalife, and I'm worried about her. It seems both pushy and expensive and from what I've read online (which I realise I have to take with a pinch of salt!) the company sounds iffy. Am I overreacting? What (if anything) can I say to warn her - or is it none of my business? It's just I know she has money worries and is anxious about her weight (she told me on both counts), I'm concerned she is vulnerable here.

fitgirl26 · 30/10/2017 21:28

@Teenageromance - it looks to me like it’s more Direct Selling than MLM? Some of their stuff looks lovely!

cozietoesie · 30/10/2017 21:54

Prosecco

Watch Mr Oliver’s piece. It’s mainly about that company.

TheMightyPigsbum · 30/10/2017 21:58

The guy running the networking event I was at this evening was wearing a ‘I ❤️ Herbalife’ badge earlier - they’re everywhere!

Toobusytowee · 30/10/2017 22:42

Proseccopoppy, there is a film called 'Betting on zero' that you can get on iPlayer for a few pounds. It is a really good documentary on how dreadful Herbalife is. It's quite an eye opener.

cozietoesie · 30/10/2017 22:48

I think that it’s now also on Netflix if you have access to that.

Toobusytowee · 31/10/2017 09:38

Teenageromance, Templespa is an MLM. At first they look ok, but dig a little deeper and you find claims of bullying uplines, monthly targets and people realising you can only make money if you have a big team.

fitgirl26 · 31/10/2017 09:45

@Toobusytowee - I obviously didn’t dig deep enough!
Is Flatbot off to Organo Gold? A Bot mentioned it on the anti MLM Facebook page (usual crap - Valentus was shit but my new company is amaaaaazing). Did some googling and it looks well dodgy.

teainbed · 31/10/2017 13:35

Hello Botwatch. I've lurked occasionally, excellent work!

I'm on a local women's networking FB group (that doesn't allow MLM plugs!!) where members have been encouraged to buy 'packs' by a Bot to be distributed amongst the patients at a cancer hospital. They contain a small bar of chocolate but a couple of crap looking products and a leaflet about their particular MLM.

Has anyone come across this before? Using a thinly veiled charity request to pedal this junk? I'm not sure whether to report it or tell the hospital?

SpecialAgentDaleCooper · 31/10/2017 13:51

teainbed - Forever Living were doing these packs - several bots peddling them including the UK No.1. I think they were asking for £20 "sponsorship" per pack (in other words asking people to buy the crappy FL products that went into the packs.)

Must be great for shifting the products you've got piled high in your garage , products you've bought to keep your position.

Toobusytowee · 31/10/2017 14:40

Those packs are dreadful. They are taking the whole snake oil thing to a new level. So many scammy things all in one go. Guilting by charity mention, false health claims for the product, trying to recruit ill people, using the hospital to imply credibility, it makes me so angry. Please can people send me screenshots of examples of this type of marketing?

I will draft a letter that can be sent to hospitals where this is going on.

teainbed · 31/10/2017 15:33

Thanks for replying, I share all of those concerns. I've got screenshots. Should I PM them or post them on here? Remove names?

I even wondered if the stuff doesn't even make it to the hospitals. Confused

GoldenKelpie · 31/10/2017 16:31

teainbed if you post anything her just remove any identifying bits. Thanks for bringing up this particularly nasty and exploitative business, there are no depths that these MLM companies will sink to Sad Angry.

teainbed · 31/10/2017 18:07

Here they are. Hope this works.

Is everyone excited for tomorrow? Valentus will be 100% legal in the UK. They will probably take the word 'legal' out of the dictionary and replace it with the Valentus logo as it will be the most legal thing that there has ever been in the history of things.

ProseccoPoppy · 31/10/2017 22:51

Ohh tea that's really low!

Thanks all for the Herbalife stuff - the John Oliver video made particularly interesting (if concerning) viewing.

TrippleFlappyDiamondSparrow · 01/11/2017 11:33

Hi guys,

Not been on in a while as had loads of things going on.
Not sure if its been mentioned but Tash has come off MN for a bit. She is setting up something at the minute which is an alternative to MLM - for a lot of the reps that got burned by Valentus I Think. Home based retail reps with the team building from what I can fathom. Retailing products from small businesses etc... looks interesting.

TrippleFlappyDiamondSparrow · 01/11/2017 11:34

oh yea!! HAPPY VALENTUS LAUNCH DAY... AGAIN!!!!

TrippleFlappyDiamondSparrow · 01/11/2017 11:35

Without the team building that should of said x

Mielabel · 01/11/2017 11:44

Really looking forward to seeing what Tash is up to. There's so much demand for flexible working, in surprised only MLMs have been the ones to exploit this need so far. If legit businesses joined in it would be perfect.

Eddierussett · 01/11/2017 12:06

Has anyone seen a certain prolific FL bot who has posted their profits from sales only for two months? It is a bit underwhelming - though I am sure will be spun sure being the part theme only profits (and therefore pretty good alongside a job).

Also the image claim that FL is good if you have no head for normal 'business' stuff like figures and sales stats. Well, yes, because if you did, you would see the numbers don't add up. And being proud of being in business and not being good at those things is not a good thing! It's like the casual way people laugh about being bad at maths - this is a life skill people (and yes I know some people find it harder than others and that is fair enough it's the pride in it that grates with me)
