OMG Five Shock. They really don't have any boundaries do they? I'm sorry you were put through this. I hoped you kicked her arse out the door!

cozietoesie · 15/10/2017 23:08

Great story, Mielabel. Smile

JellyfishPieForTea · 16/10/2017 09:14

I've posted on this thread a few times before but I'm back under a different name.

I was wondering if anyone else had noticed a change of tactic in how bots lure new victims in. My bots seem to have a new policy of staying silent about what they are actually selling. Instead of banging on about their amazing products, they are trying to get as many facebook followers as possible posting on their page. So they might ask a pointless question like "what's your favourite cake? Answer in the comments below with a gif". Then every few days the bot will post something about how free or happy or successful they are. I think the idea is that people become so interested in the bots life, they want in on whatever they are doing.

One bot has even said she's really embarrassed that she used to spam her friends, and now she has had proper business coaching (she's given a life coach £100s) she is making more money from her business than she ever did before... all without spamming her friends. She reckons she's involved in two MLM but I have no idea what they are cos she never mentions them!

But this has to be bullshit? Does this tactic really work? Who falls for it? Answer with a gif below Wink

Whiterangey · 16/10/2017 11:36

I've noticed recently that bots are starting to do more than one MLM at a time. Mostly with Valentus bots, but i've seen others. Doesn't really give the impression that any of the MLM's they are pushing are making them a lot of money if they need to do more than one.

We know that those with Valentus have seen their income drop substantially, but I get the impression that most MLM's have had a huge income drop as well.

I've just complained to British Gymnastics about a head coach/owner of a gymnastics club pushing Herbalife products onto children. I am bloody fuming!
Not sure it will get anywhere tho as one of Great Britains top gymnasts gets away with advocating it. (Not sure if I could mention his name or not so didn't)!

SSDGM · 16/10/2017 13:47

My Vida Bot is now claiming 17lbs lost in 13 days and has posted pics of herself in her underwear saying she has gone from a 14/16 to a 12. You are not a size 12 if you weigh 14 stone 10. Let's just be real about this, shall we?

What she hasn't mentioned is she is actually on the divorce diet as her husband has had enough and left. And she's cleaned out the bank accounts to go to away to Brighton for "training".

A completely unrelated question. Is the personal trainer military fitness top Vida bot have a partner?

Norma27 · 16/10/2017 15:02

British gymnastics organisation are looking into it do let's see what they say.
The club will know it was me tho if anything is said as I have torn a strip off them about it!

Norma27 · 16/10/2017 15:35

Well I should not have bothered. Apparently peddling this crap to children is acceptable!

7Seas · 16/10/2017 15:47

Im just wondering how many people will be given jizz plus or forever crap as christmas presents. They have to get rid of all the shit that they are forced to buy to stay in the game.

cozietoesie · 16/10/2017 15:55

I’m amazed that someone in a position of .......influence is allowed to market anything in any case - so well tried.

Have you seen this John Oliver piece? It’s not real new but it’s still relevant, I think.

cozietoesie · 16/10/2017 15:57

A great many, I fear, 7. Sad

cozietoesie · 16/10/2017 16:03

You have to remember that just because nothing seems to happen on the surface, it doesn’t mean that nobody has noticed. Protests are always going to be useful.

Norma27 · 16/10/2017 16:27

That is true cozie. At least I tried. I have actually pulled my children out of the club now and that played a role in my final decision. I saw that they are targeting one of their coaches who is about to have a baby and presumably won't want to go back to her full time 'proper job'.

rayofhope2 · 16/10/2017 19:16

Cozie - just watched the video and now I’m about to watch ‘Betting in Zero’

Barnbot - don’t like calling you that, Natasha, you’ve been very quiet on here, is everything ok? I worry that you’ve been told to be quiet?

Norma27 · 16/10/2017 19:44

I managed to watch half that video earlier. It is hilarious and will watch rest later.
I have watched betting on zero. I put a link to it on my Facebook wall hoping some people might look and realise what a crock of shit Herbalife is.
Have already had the gym and it's owned unfriend me! Although that is probably more to do with another row we had too!

cozietoesie · 16/10/2017 20:08

Unfriended ? Well done. Grin

Norma27 · 16/10/2017 20:50

I know I'm devastated! I would have been prime material for them to prospect too. Obviously would have told them where to go but I'm worried others won't. Tossers!!

CotonouMLM · 17/10/2017 08:26

Hi all,

I've seen your threads before but never thought I would be asking if you could help me?

My sister is on fieldwork in west Africa and has just called me and told me that a lot of the people she's surrounded by are all signing up to sell a certain magical cure ( shes send me a photo of a leaflet... this thing cures aids and polio!!!). It is, of course, an MLM scheme.

I was wondering if you knew of any "easy access" documents or leaflets I can send for her to give out about the dangers of MLM.

I've found a few things but am looking for really really simple documents or short films she could show.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou

CotonouMLM · 17/10/2017 08:29

P.S. If you have anything in French... that would be even better

Toobusytowee · 17/10/2017 08:49

I wrote this post that explains why network marketing is a bad thing - botwatch.blog/2017/09/21/why-network-marketing-is-a-bad-thing/

Is that what you are after? Would a shorter version be better?

On that blog, I have put a load of useful videos you can watch or pass on (on the right hand side on a computer, at the bottom on your phone).

CotonouMLM · 17/10/2017 09:00

@Toobusytowee

Thankyou, I'll have a look.

I'm looking ( and I'm trying not to sound condescending) for very very simple and preferably something printable.

For example, my sisters' driver who can just about read and write is involved.

Most of the people out there don't really have access to computers, some of them have smartphones.

Anything with simple graphics or graphs would be good and I could translate the text into French.

Toobusytowee · 17/10/2017 13:25

Ok, leave it with me. I'll see what I can come up with tonight.

cozietoesie · 17/10/2017 16:40

Does your sister have any access to the ‘elders’? It might come better from them.

FuckYouDailyMail · 17/10/2017 18:12

I've name changed many times since I first posted on these threads (waves to Eyes) and I'm pleased to report that the friend of mine who became totally aloe botted has finally come out the other side. She's clearly embarrassed about what she believed and I hate to think how much debt she has run up in the 2 years she was in FL but at least she's out. Now just need to help her appreciate it is the MLM system that is wrong and not her that has failed. Don't want her jumping straight into another one.

Spongebobette · 17/10/2017 18:33

Oh I am so pleased to hear that someone has escaped

If only Forever Living would publish an income disclosure. Then people would see how many people make almost no money
