Yes, Usbourne is an MLM. They sell in normal shops as well but they have an MLM part to the company. Have a look at uzziesuncensored.com for the lowdown in them.

I really want to type STATIONERY on yawnbot's post. She will only delete me though if I do that.
And how many photos can somebody take of their own face in a lifetime!

OhOhDearling · 10/10/2017 08:37

I've chatted online to someone who was a rep - it's also hard to make any money out of it - as the books are so often discounted by the Book People and Amazon and Supermarkets. And once you exclude expenses such as the delivery costs, petrol/stall costs etc .....

SSDGM · 10/10/2017 08:38

I can’t even at brokeflatbot’s attempt to become a one man MLM exposing machine.

Still, he seems to have shut up about getting paid for selling coffee that doesn’t arrive.

eitak22 · 10/10/2017 17:20

My friend's become a seller and has been posting on others about wanting to hear more so think its safe to say she has been sucked in. I always notice the 'thats not my..' books are half price in sainsburys.

Not sure if to say something or leave it... luckily i dont live local/have kids so not in her target i guess.

spanfan · 10/10/2017 18:03

PhD bot is flogging a book launch for "empowering women" are similar guff.

On the launch day you can listen from 8 "experts" who will tell you, amongst other things how to make 35k dollars in 35 days.

All for the bargain price of £97.00.

I thought the most you felt obligated to purchase at these things was a signed book!!

Would love to be a fly on the wall there though.

My Vida Bot claims she has lost 16lbs in 10 days. One of her downline is claiming a stone.

I can’t cope with the lies and stupidity any longer.

Apologies for the double posts. Not sure how that is happening.

Acti-Bot on Salon’s post saying she is going to lose her home by Xmas. Salon is going to message her... Acti bot changing her MLM in 5...4...3...2....

Ladiva1971 · 12/10/2017 23:47

Is there anybody here that maybe understands how the human brain works? Why can't people involved in NWM / MLM/ Inverted pyramid schemes get a (what I call a normal) job? What makes them just jump from ship to ship? Are they so insecure that they cannot deal with the public, for example working in retail? Is it a child care issue? Because that's what Tax credits are for? I really cannot understand why they do it.

Toobusytowee · 13/10/2017 09:15

Ladiva, I think people start with a bit of desperation or skeptical hope and very quickly it turns into a full blown cult trap. All the constant messages of positivity, the lies, the promise it will all work out. The 'training', late nights, follow the plan, invest in the scheme, block out anyone who opposes the scheme. Then the poor person loses money and tries to just make it back before leaving. Except they can't make it back. Then their friend moves to a different scheme and promises this one is better. Very soon the poor person is completely stuck.

CurlsandCurves · 13/10/2017 09:52

It's also the what ifs. What if your business was about to turn a massive corner and you'd be flying high, you can't give up now, can you? Wha if the next person you approach joins your business and it all takes off from there?

And it's the feeling part of something. An exclusive club where you're made to feel special, needed. Don't forget, you're doing something important and vital. What did Salons poster say, something about changing the world?

Those leaders that you watch with awe up on that stage at trainings. That could be you one day. Imagine yourself stood up there, telling people your story, how you did it and became a success.

It might start off being about money and starting a business, but it's what it does to your head that keeps you in and keeps you moving from one to another because this time it's gonna work, this is the right business for me, how could I have not seen it before?

Scary what it does to people.

graceadlerdesigns · 13/10/2017 09:56

I am a bit (secretly) obsessed with a MLM from younique.

She has recently used some very sad personal events to talk about her personal development/ improvement. I just can't seem to look away... It's quite horrid really.

fitgirl26 · 13/10/2017 09:59

@Ladiva1971 - to be fair I couldn’t work in retail and I take my hat off to those that do and have to cope with “people” all day (or night). But I couldn’t do MLM either...

Mielabel · 13/10/2017 11:07

Ladiva, I was in an MLM (three actually). At the time I joined the first one I had just graduated and it was the height of the recession. I couldn't get a job related to my field even after years of searching. My time was running out, I had no experience and loads of gaps in my CV in between min wage temp jobs. I was lost and depressed and desperate to have a career in anything by that stage, if someone would take a chance on me. If I was lucky to get a min wage retail job as a shop assistant the younger managers above me tried to prove themselves by bullying me, presuming I thought I was better than them because I'd gone to uni, no matter how friendly I tried to be, happened over and over again. I was absolutely desperate and wondered what on earth had happened to my hopes and dreams. I'd never heard of MLM so knew no different. When I got invited to an event I thought it sounded amazing. The women were so happy and supportive of each other, the products seemed right up my street, I was told all I would have to do was work hard- and I jumped at that as I was desperate to prove myself and get somewhere in life.

No matter how hard I worked and how many motivational trainings I watched I couldn't get anywhere. I did everything I could and worked every second including weekends, feeling guilty if I so much as had a bubble bath instead of working. I lost friends and annoyed family by posting about my MLM constantly. I thought maybe it was the company or the products so jumped ship, losing all the people I thought were friends in my old company instantly too. I had no idea what I was doing wrong but kept being told to believe more, change my mindset, do my dream boards and stick to the plan. Finally I found Timeless Vie and realised MLM wasn't just a normal 'job', it was set up to make most fail. I started my own business instead and have been successful at last. :)

darceybussell · 13/10/2017 12:44

Wow Mielabel what a story! How brilliant that you have finally found your niche and have been successful outside of shitty MLM. Flowers

TrippleFlappyDiamondSparrow · 13/10/2017 15:52

Had Judge Rinder on for some strange reason in the background of doing my work earlier. A woman was on there because her friend broke her £3,500 water filter which was from an MLM (guessing Kangen) the judges face when he realised what a crock a shite it was for that sort of money was hilarious. Worth a watch if you want a giggle 😂

SSDGM · 14/10/2017 00:48

Have Xerveo bots received their wonder coffee yet?

BSintolerant · 14/10/2017 15:35

Thank you for sharing your story Mielabel. Flowers

Do you still get pestered by bots trying to tell you that their 'amaaaayyyyyzzzzzing hopportunity' will make you far more money than working for yourself? I know the little fuckers don't give up that easily!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 15/10/2017 16:47

Just dipping in, feel a bit violated today as a FL bot tried to recruit me in my own home, while I was selling her something. She mentioned she had her own natural health business, stupid me thought maybe aromatherapist or similar but when the subject of my DH's cancer came up, out came the card, mentioned gel for scarring and general health and when I get bored of making candles would I like to join her or maybe we could work together.
