Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook

We have our own regularly returning bots.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work. Flogging the amazing skinny lard and now carbonated lard. The arsenic is not the evil Victorian stuff. #TeamDannii #gettingalardon

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

I miss my friend from before all the confidence and empowerment and validation bollocks. Everything is about her y sisters - and think it's sad she even mentions it on her kids birthdays and stuff.

cozietoesie · 08/03/2017 17:41

Here's the link to that specific Botwatch piece I mentioned - to save you looking it up.

There's loads more useful stuff on the site though. It would likely do you good to read it.

cozietoesie · 08/03/2017 17:43

Anyway - good luck. And let us know how you get on. Smile

fruityb · 08/03/2017 19:00

Thank you - sorry I don't mean to sound ambivalent. I find the whole thing weirdly fascinating, but it has also stolen my friend away. I suppose in a little detached now. Plus I haven't read the whole thread as it's been hard to lol

cozietoesie · 08/03/2017 19:06

Goodness - no problem there. It's a very real dilemma for people - in real life - who have a friend or family member who has fallen in with an MLM. You'd probably benefit from reading botwatchblog or Timeless Vie a bit.

Here is the link to botwatchblog in general. Smile

fruityb · 08/03/2017 19:51

I love timeless vie - will take a look at the other there 😊

Toobusytowee · 09/03/2017 03:22

I just put up a video I had sitting in my emails that a concerned person sent me. I only just realised how to share it.

It's about LTW

DoratheExplorer17 · 09/03/2017 07:03

Poor woman. That's awful. But she's just going to join another MLM!!! 😔

fitgirl26 · 09/03/2017 10:21

She's a Coffee Bot now. Still probably believes that the sun shines out of Salon Bot's arse.

CurlsandCurves · 09/03/2017 11:25

Poor woman, has she not learned? How can she not see from this experience what these companies are like?

What is LTW, by the way? Can't work it out...

HollyJollyDillydolly · 09/03/2017 11:53

LTW...life tree world?

BSintolerant · 09/03/2017 12:16

Is Salon Bot dabbling in renewable energy? If the sun shines out of her arse that tanning / ronseal salon of hers must be quite a novelty. Wink

Perhaps she's airbrushing her clients with coffee too.

DoratheExplorer17 · 09/03/2017 12:54

I've heard from a reliable source that salon bot has definitely joined Ariix. Surely if the coffee MLM is so good then she wouldn't have joined them as well?

fitgirl26 · 09/03/2017 13:13

Mmm interesting! There was an Ariix Bot posting on the Juice Plus Lies page a couple of weeks ago - she was trying to claim that Ariix is different and was created because the founders wanted an MLM that didn't rip people off. Ok then....

cozietoesie · 09/03/2017 15:00

An interesting argument to put forward at this stage. Smile

fitgirl26 · 09/03/2017 17:35

Another interesting fact - Salon Bot's fiancé is involved with Coinspace which is the MLM that many of the LTW Bots moved into. I wonder if they sit in bed at night and divvy up their downlines.

Toobusytowee · 10/03/2017 00:47

Does anyone here live in Giggleswick? BBC Radio 4 are doing a political programme called 'Any Questions' and they are having the opposition MP for the DWP on. I wonder if anyone can get there and ask about the MLM and New Enterprise Allowance? I would help with the wording of questions and write a brief for you.

cozietoesie · 10/03/2017 00:53

Afraid not, Toobusy - nowhere near it - but I just wanted to say Thanks for that excellent new piece that's been written for botwatchblog on the issue.

Toobusytowee · 10/03/2017 01:09

That's nice Cozie, thanks

MadisonAvenue · 10/03/2017 13:17

Kyani has started appearing on my Facebook recently. Looks like another MLM but it's a new one on me. Just one friend is pushing it but she's gone to Texas this week to meet the team or whatever...

She just posted about it being huge in the US and Australia and should be the same here in the UK soon.

fitgirl26 · 10/03/2017 13:57

TINA wrote a strong letter to Kyani last year. Looks like it's the same as Juice Plus, FL, Herbalife etc with false medical claims being made by Bots.

cozietoesie · 10/03/2017 14:17

Some interesting stuff related to them on YouTube. Have a look for yourselves. Smile

WhenLoveAndCakeCollide · 10/03/2017 14:40

I've lost a friend to Younique. I think she's beyond help. I've tried everything. Sent her a link to Timeless Vie, and other anti-MLM websites, but she dismisses it all. Anyone who has 'escaped' Younique and other MLM schemes, she says are 'bitter' as 'they weren't able to be successful'.

She's so blinded by it, I'm one of several friends she sent a message to on Facebook, urging us to 'treat your mum for Mother's Day'. Well a bit early for me, as here in the States (friend is in UK, where I'm originally from), Mother's Day is in May. However, and even more pertinently, my mom died four months ago.

When I replied to said message, clearly angry, (I think, soon-to-be-ex) friend said, "oops sorry, got carried away. Well why not pick out items your mom would have liked, and buy them for yourself!"

Like I said, beyond help, she's a Younique robot.

cozietoesie · 10/03/2017 14:50

It's a real sadness.

Just in case she's still there deep down - or at any rate, a sliver of her - be there, guardedly at first, if she ever decides to leave. She'll likely need people to talk to then.

It's awful, though. I'm sorry.

fruityb · 10/03/2017 15:02

If I see "she believed she could and she did" for other women joining younique I'll scream. What she believed she could spend £70 on a kit so she did?
