Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

We have our own regularly returning bots.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work. Flogging the amazing skinny lard and now carbonated lard. The arsenic is not the evil Victorian stuff. #TeamDannii #gettingalardon

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

1.5k qualifiers
2016: 140
2017:80 (46 not getting cheque)

Under 1.5k qualifiers
2017: 29

cozietoesie · 07/03/2017 20:19

Thanks Whats. Dare you say how authoritative those figures are? Smile

Very interesting.

DoratheExplorer17 · 07/03/2017 20:21

I spotted that too. And so many names who had a cheque last year but not this year.

And I know for a fact that one of the 15k qualifiers from 2016 was only a cats whisker off getting 20k, so to go down to 12.5k is a huge drop. Well it will could be anywhere between 12.5k - 15k but still a big drop.

Whatsaldigottodowithit · 07/03/2017 20:30

Yes they are some very big drops from some big names, some down 2 levels I can see

cozietoesie · 07/03/2017 20:34

I wonder what that will do to the much-vaunted 'income' claims? Wink

Botwatcher84 · 07/03/2017 22:44

Where do you find this info??

DoratheExplorer17 · 07/03/2017 23:27

It's all available in their magazine

DomesticAnarchist · 07/03/2017 23:45

What's the duration over which that money is made?

In a month? that's more impressive than I gave mlm's credit for.

Whatsaldigottodowithit · 08/03/2017 10:55

That's not k actual money, that's how many "case credits" they have qualified by.

DoratheExplorer17 · 08/03/2017 13:05

Yes those are the total CCs over the whole of 2016.

DoratheExplorer17 · 08/03/2017 13:10

As a rough average guide. 50CCs = £1k

cozietoesie · 08/03/2017 13:10

So it's over 12 months and not 1 month?

DoratheExplorer17 · 08/03/2017 13:24

Yes those are the totals over 12 months. And it could be any number from the bottom of the level to the top. So someone who has qualified at 2.5k CCs pups have done anywhere between 2.5k & 5k

Spongebobette · 08/03/2017 13:27

Wow that's a lot of gloop to shift

DoratheExplorer17 · 08/03/2017 13:29

And when I say 50CCs is equal to £1k I mean for their monthly bonus. That won't be the case for CB because it depends what level they have qualified at. It's really hard to work out

BSintolerant · 08/03/2017 13:48

sponge It's a lot of gloop to shit!

cozietoesie · 08/03/2017 13:48

....It's really hard to work out....

Well of course it is! Grin

Spongebobette · 08/03/2017 14:03

BS 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

JoolsSchmools · 08/03/2017 15:00

Quick question, are bots allowed to do raffles on Fb? My bot (who also manages a gym so has her stock in there as I found out when I forgot my water bottle rage) is holding one and I can't remember if they're legitimate or not.

fruityb · 08/03/2017 15:26

I'd be interested to know about raffles as my bot has them all the time. I won an item two and a bit weeks ago (I know I know I decided I should be more supportive as a New Years resolution and then realised...) and I haven't received it yet. It was drawn more than two weeks ago, then she ordered them and allegedly they're posted out. Not here yet 😡 She's also getting people to sell five items so they can get themselves a free one - jog on.

screwthepyramids · 08/03/2017 17:04

Raffles are illegal as the bots will not hold a gambling license. I reported one who said she was doing a charity raffle (product worth £23 raffle raised £100 with the remaining money going to charity) now the problem was, raffles can be held for charity without a license as long as no profit is made anywhere down the line, bit made a profit (commission) from the sale of the £23 product. The charity was not impressed at all either

fruityb · 08/03/2017 17:09

Good lord! What to do about it then?

cozietoesie · 08/03/2017 17:15

Are you in a position to say something to her directly?

fruityb · 08/03/2017 17:18

I am yes I'll let her know - I don't want her to end up with issues.

cozietoesie · 08/03/2017 17:31

You might be as well to read first the botwatchblog piece on 'People who care about you are worried' - or similar wording. It's difficult with former friend or relatives who are in thrall to an MLM and you sound more than a little ambivalent about the whole thing?
