Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook
www.lazymanandmoney.com/is-every-mlm-a-scam
We have our own regularly returning bots.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work. Flogging the amazing skinny lard and now carbonated lard. The arsenic is not the evil Victorian stuff. #TeamDannii #gettingalardon

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

A pandora bangle?? Where do I sign? ??

BSintolerant · 04/03/2017 22:13

Sponge Grin

I wonder if Pandora washed her box with Beever shampoo?

BSintolerant · 04/03/2017 22:15

The thought of a Beever hair clip troubles me. Centre partings *snigger!

EndoplasmicReticulum · 04/03/2017 22:41

Yes, thankyou. That's very useful.

Toobusytowee · 05/03/2017 01:17

BS, 'beever hair clip' was not an entirely unintentional choice of words.

BSintolerant · 05/03/2017 06:52

toobusy Grin you're very naughty. You could have called it the losing money shot.

Toobusytowee · 05/03/2017 09:04

What can I say? I wrote it on a quim. I mean whim.

BSintolerant · 05/03/2017 14:07

Grin These beaver jokes have gone too far toobusy - a muff is a muff!

acatcalledjohn · 05/03/2017 17:12

I need to watch vid 2 still, but so far I am enjoying the eejits that run Beever. The first video, from 0:14, states how horrible we are to our hair with heat, colouring, diet and excessive product use.

Now I don't claim to be a Sherlock, but I am intelligent cynical enough to wonder why anyone would be against tackling the root of the problem rather than find an overpriced quick fix, unless they have a vested interest money in selling this shite.

Perhaps it reduces the risk of razor burn 'down there'?

Well, I haven't found out much about teamEZ except that they are probably Isagenix, like botwatcher84 says, and also that their supposed founders are terrifying californians.

However, I am in southern Africa at the moment and look what I spotted in an upmarket shopping mall..

They're trying to get into 'less developed' markets.

ZuluWarrior · 05/03/2017 20:17

Eurgh

cozietoesie · 05/03/2017 20:46

Sadly, the amount of money some of these poor people in 'less developed markets' are losing is astronomical when compared to the average salary. Sad

HollyJollyDillydolly · 05/03/2017 20:55

An old school friend has just added me to a fb group. Looks like she's on her 3rd mlm 'opportunity'.

Toobusytowee · 05/03/2017 21:03

Has anyone done any digging regarding MLM and the New Enterprise Allowance? Did someone here do a freedom of information request about it? I'm doing a little probing for a botwatchblog piece. It would be handy to find out if anyone has any information already.

catcatcatcat · 05/03/2017 22:00

Longtime reader & I need some help please. I've expressed dislike at a particular MLM - not in a confrontational or rude way - (don't want to out myself here) & now am having lots of people say I'm wrong and am quashing someone's business/opportunity etc.
Anyone got anything good to say in response?! I've just got that I don't agree with MLM's particularly praying on women & feel I'm allowed to air my views so long as they're not said in an offensive way.
Think I'm going to lose friends over this. How do so many intelligent women not see these schemes for what they are? It's beyond me.

cozietoesie · 05/03/2017 22:07

I'm afraid that you may well lose friends even if only temporarily. Have you read the botwatch pieces on this very thing?

cozietoesie · 05/03/2017 22:11

Here's the link if you haven't come across it before.

botwatchblog

Scroll down to the 'DIRECTORY OF MLM INFORMATION' and you'll find some very useful links for further reading. You're absolutely not alone, here.

Anyone else feel a bit nauseous at the exploitation of women in the Middle East?

catcatcatcat · 05/03/2017 22:53

Thanks for the links. Interesting reading. It's such a feminist issue, praying on vulnerable women, turning them against friends & family. I know sometimes men are involved but very rarely. I'll probably end up being quiet about it to keep the peace - although I think I'll forever be known as an unsupportive bitch now! Oh well.

Toobusytowee · 05/03/2017 23:05

catcat you will be seen as a dream stealer and a victim of negative thinking. You have been conned by the scam of having a JOB and not believing in yourself. You are still in contact with reality though, whereas your friends have undergone some pretty manipulative techniques to get them where they are. There is a bit on botwatchblog about how to help friends who are stuck in these schemes. Might be worth a read so you can protect yourself and your friends as much as possible.

cozietoesie · 05/03/2017 23:11

The trouble - for me - cat, is that it largely depends on the dynamics of the particular group. I'd be thinking about that if I were you? Maybe you're not best suited to them?

BSintolerant · 05/03/2017 23:12

sponge one of those women in the photo is holding a rabbit. Is that part of the marketing plan?

"Here's my friend who's going to take you down his rabbit role to show you how to multiply sales and grow your downline huns! Eeeeeek!"

Joking apart, getting into debt in the Middle East can land you in prison. I fear for the low paid workers in that part of the world who are likely to get sucked into this nonsense.

cozietoesie · 05/03/2017 23:13

Dear CAM used to talk a lot about that, Sponge. It's a serious issue indeed.

Spongebobette · 06/03/2017 13:19

Yes it made me think of CAM too. 😢
