Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook
www.lazymanandmoney.com/is-every-mlm-a-scam
We have our own regularly returning bots.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work. Flogging the amazing skinny lard and now carbonated lard. The arsenic is not the evil Victorian stuff. #TeamDannii #gettingalardon

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

I've been informed by my family member FL bot,who I brought 2 items from when she first started it about 2 years ago, that they are not allowed to sell the products that are left on the skin because they contain a substance that can cause allergies. I can remember this coming to light a couple of months ago and I had completely forgotten about it. Thats quite a lot of products when you think about it, so is a coincidence that a certain shillbot who has got over bullying has posted on fb that the company is still going strong. Strange thing to say methinks.Wink

Annie65 · 16/02/2017 21:48

Oh wow !!!

To be crowned number 3 top business for the whole year was amazing .... but to be crowned number 2 for January is even better

It shows business is up

Forever Living is a company that isn't going anywhere - there's so much more growth possible ... the time is now to join us & create the life you want

Annie65 · 16/02/2017 21:50

Not very good at copy and paste but its workedGrin This is what she wrote

Littlemissindependent · 16/02/2017 21:53

Anyone know anything about ACN? My delightful exh is trying to get me to 'help' him with this and when I told him I have no interest in mlm schemes he went off on one at me. Apparently I should look at the bigger picture and think of dd. I think he's been brainwashed...

CheekySmile · 16/02/2017 22:41

ACN is the MLM scheme Donald Trump promoted.

DomesticAnarchist · 16/02/2017 23:50

Hi folks, hope you don't mind me asking a question.

My nuskin rep-bot is posting all about the "free" trips, including the summit in Marbella. I've established it's actually €240, but can you tell me if (or give me searching tips) that includes flights & hotels? I can't imagine it would...

TinselTwins · 17/02/2017 00:29

some actually do include flights, but you KNOW if your bots company pays the flights too as they will make sure they never shut-up about it. Otherwise, no.

the paid for element lasts 2 or 3 days and is just intense dusk till dawn "mindset" brainwashing. If you want to do any sight seeing/holiday while there, that's on you. Transfers are on you. flights are on you (unless your bot is shouting it from the roof top). And things like hotel airports etc etc, all on you.

Most of them are only paying the accomodation for 1 person and rooms are shared usually, plus you are expected to stay in the designated accomodation in close quarters wiith the other bots (to enhance the brainwashing) so even if you wanna make a holiday of it with hubby& kids - you'll probably be sleeping elsewhere from them for 2/3 nights.

There'll usually be some sort of flash selfie worthy event like a ball type thing or a boat trip so you can post about your AMAZING time.. but it'll mostly be sitting on cheap conference seats being told by people making money off you to order more and make them more richer so you can come back next year and worship their richness again.

Forever Living is a company that isn't going anywhere...

Is that one of those Freudian slips Annie65? Wink

Pearl necklaces? Ooer! My granny loved Pearl necklaces - grandad used to give her loads. Grin She had one which matched her Freudian slip. Wink

Annie65 · 17/02/2017 08:37

BS, Grin

fitgirl26 · 17/02/2017 09:09

Giggedy over the pearl necklaces! Grin
Several top Lifetree World Bots were ACN prior to LTW e.g. the one that was previously jailed for fraud (and his brother).

DomesticAnarchist · 17/02/2017 09:22

That Tinsel, I suspected as much. Brainwashing is the word. It really is a cult, isn't it?

She says she's selling product at 'warehouse' or 'cost' price now. I'm worried this is a sign she's starting to lose the game. But I can't say as much. She could never admit it's going wrong.

Still... that pearl thing is entertaining.

DomesticAnarchist · 17/02/2017 09:23

*Thanks

MyCatsHateMLMtoo · 17/02/2017 16:52

DoratheExplorer17 · 18/02/2017 12:41

Don't forget to be watching your bots at the 'incredibly amazingly inspiring awesome success weekend'

yawn!!!!

NoSleepSinceSpring · 18/02/2017 13:33

My bot reckons she's about to quit her job, take her kids out of school, and island hop in the Caribbean for a year. She reckons she's making so much money from her 'business' and all she needs to keep the money coming in is an internet connection. I don't think she is making that much money, she doesn't have one of the fancy cars yet. Actually her car keeps breaking down and she's not replaced it. Even if she was making loads, could she run the 'business' from abroad? It just sounds so strange to me.

cozietoesie · 18/02/2017 14:06

Poor woman.

BSintolerant · 18/02/2017 15:01

I was catching up with the daily podcasts on Chris Guillebeau's Side Hustle School website earlier. On one of the weekly catch-up episodes he responded to a caller who left a typically vague question about a network marketing idea. Chris G couldn't give a personalised response because the caller's message was so vague and didn't give much away. Instead he told his listeners not to waste their time on multi level marketing because very few make any real money out of such schemes (apart from the person who set up the scheme and a few who got involved very early on) and the majority of people spend too much time for little financial reward.

He said it was better to explore your own ideas - and there are lots of side business ideas on his podcast which are successful. My favourite podcasts include someone who makes saddles for chickens (yes, you read that right - it's not as crazy as it sounds!) and someone else who drop-ships live crickets. There are lots of more mainstream business ideas too. It's worth a listen.

DoratheExplorer17 · 18/02/2017 15:02

You can run it from anywhere but I think it's a massive risk at the moment. People are leaving in big numbers. I feel bad for her. It's a massive mistake but people won't be told.

BSintolerant · 18/02/2017 15:23

Does anyone know if there's an average time that people stay in MLMs before they see the light and quit?

Spongebobette · 18/02/2017 17:57

Dora that's interesting ? The top bots seem to be recruiting still, the one I look at seems constantly to be welcoming new 'business partners' which I find amazing. I don't know where they get the energy!

cozietoesie · 18/02/2017 18:07

I just don't know, BS. Sadly though, it seems that people come to believe that they are the ones who are failing because they 'couldn't make it work for them' and then fall prey to the siren songs of new MLMs who promise them ..........Oh, better support, family atmosphere etc etc. All those love buzz things.

You do find people who have given up one MLM only to move to another......then another......and so on. Sad

fitgirl26 · 18/02/2017 20:10

I see some of the coffee Bots are now promoting yet another cryptocurrency scam business. I wonder if they are going to run this alongside Valentus or is this the Next Big Thing?

cozietoesie · 18/02/2017 20:18

I don't know - but it's terrifically difficult to admit to yourself that you were taken. By anything or anybody. Especially if you've lost £££££ doing it - and/or friends and acquaintances. Far easier to listen to the '.Oh I know - they're dreadful!' blandishments of a new person and move over to something else.

That's part of why I feel such respect for those people who have finally seen the light and left - it's a sign of strength and not weakness
