hello,

I hate feeling ignorant so I thought i would pop back on to say thank you for your comments. I never expected encouragement or anything positive so I just wanted to say it means a lot.

I also agree I need a thicker skin, its a massive problem with one that I deal with as best I can. I just didn't want my company labled as something it wasn't thats all.

I wish i had a care free attitude where i don't let things bother me but i haven't, I guess we are all wired differently. My 16 year old sister is as hard as nails:) Hope its a trait she keeps.

We have finally got rid of the bug so there is another positive as well:)

Hope your weekends have been better than mine and those of you at home have a nice last week of the school holidays, and those of you at work get some peace and quiet away from the chaos of the holidays lol. 3 dogs and a 4 years old is hard work, not sure how well I would have coped with more than one anyway.

Abi xx

cozietoesie · 29/08/2016 20:41

Well good luck with the new company.

It's good to see someone who was such a prominent MLMer starting something different - and non MLM. Smile

Seenthelight21 · 29/08/2016 23:34

Having previously been in Forever Abigail as a manager I did follow your journey.

I never met you personally but I can see what a genuine and honest person you are by the responses on this thread.
I really wish you success in your new business
I'm sure your Grandad and son will be very proud of you.

Xxx

forevercrass · 30/08/2016 07:35

I was a manager in Forever too and the reason I left was because I felt I couldn't keep the fake persona up constantly. I suffer with anxiety and depression and when things were bad in my head I was simply told not to show that outwardly and to tell people with depression not to express themselves and to keep it quiet is...well it's awful and goes against what my therapists were advising.
Life isn't all positive but in forever i felt so alone and unable to speak about negatives honestly and it almost tipped me over the edge. I know I'm not alone in feeling like this. When I did leave I was outcast as a failure who was unprepared to work by the GLT sapphire manager above me.

Annie65 · 30/08/2016 07:51

Forevercrass, that must have been awful. I really hope you are ok now, at least feeling better. My heart goes out to you.Smile

cozietoesie · 30/08/2016 09:12

It must have taken a great deal of courage to leave.

Toobusytowee · 30/08/2016 10:02

I guess that's part of the problem with MLMs when you compare them to normal jobs. There isn't an HR department to advise on employment rights, maternity benefits, sick pay. There is no occupational health provision to give health advice, obtain screening and advise on health problems as well as providing time off for health reasons. And there is no finance department to help with claiming expenses. No administrative support for arranging hotels and travel expenses and ensuring it is paid for. No mangers trained in leadership and other associated skills.

In MLM you just get any old person who has bought a starter kit who has been told they should just get on with it and start straight away.

There is a lot of opportunity for it to all go wrong.

smiinky · 30/08/2016 11:56

forevercrass, that's why I absolutely despise the cod philosophy The Secret that the bots are taught. I think it teaches the exact opposite to what the world religious teachings do. Instead of embracing, loving and respecting people who are suffering, it teaches you to shun, ignore and supress. Incase you 'catch' their bad vibes. Its psychopathic and evil. If you ignore suffering it doesn't vanish, it gets worse. How can you have community and friendship if you apply this philosophy? Its unrealistic to try to create a world with no negativity. You cannot do it. The bitching and threats behind the scenes at Forever just show us exactly how unrealistic it is.

forevercrass · 30/08/2016 17:57

Thanks for your replies. Yes Annie I feel much better. An immense weight has been lifted and I'm free once more to be ME! I complain (and that's ok!), I share my worries, open my heart to people. My family and non MLM friends are so relieved.

I do cringe at the posts I see from people now that I once admired. It is a lot of smoke and mirrors and I know most of the things they post are hugely exaggerated or twisted versions of the truth. I can't even really blame them as I think it has been so ingrained in some that they simply cannot help themselves.

Yes it did take courage and as I said I have been the source of bullying and whispers since but I discovered who my true friends are.

Toobusy - you hit the nail on the head. There is no safety or rights and all it takes is for one jumped up manager on a power trip to make your life hell. It's not your own business at all. I hate to see the high up managers post in their manager groups berating their managers "I do my 4cc in tone first week of the month despite X, Y & Z so what's the problem? Why haven't you done yours?" They know that people are slowly seeing the light and they are afraid of more dropping off soon which is inevitable!

cozietoesie · 30/08/2016 18:00

And your true friends are still there? Smile

Spongebobette · 30/08/2016 18:09

Ooh just saw TV on Twitter re Mäëllë's change in compensation scheme.... Where can I find the details?

EauDeParslaii · 30/08/2016 23:13

Spongebobette I found it while investigating earlier, it really seems to have kicked off. I sent it on to TV so she could see it all!
Ï'll pm ü hün Wink x

Teddy1970 · 30/08/2016 23:47

Oh no, another FB friend has posted a cryptic message about her new "business", why do they follow the same bloody script? "I'll pm you hun" and of course she's got the usual people who are intrigued...it gives me the rage. On the other hand, another FB friend has launched a genuine business and I'm so thrilled for her, I'm sharing and liking her page because she's thought of an original concept and it's been a over a year in the planning (unlike a pyramid scheme in disguise) it's so good to see real enterprise sometimes!

crumpetsfortea37 · 31/08/2016 08:03

Intriguing new development among top bots .- starting "real" new businesses.. MLM "is an incredible vehicle for you to be able to pursue your dreams .... It's not about how much money you make, it's doors of opportunities it can open"
So not so much :multiple six figure income/residual income for life, more rush for the exit but keep smiling as we go and no one will notice.

keeptheaspidistra · 31/08/2016 10:27

crumpets, 2 things:

  1. You're spot on.
  2. I'm now heading out to by crumpets for brunch Grin
Spongebobette · 31/08/2016 11:17

I cannot take much more positivity and excitement from these top bots. I need to stop looking at their pages. I can't imagine what it must be like actually being them and having to manufacture postitivity all day every day.

keeptheaspidistra · 31/08/2016 11:34

It's the attributing normal every day things to network marketing that irritates me. How small must your world be if you are unaware that having your nails done, going out for a meal, going on holiday etc are all activities readily and easily available to people NOT in network marketing.

cozietoesie · 31/08/2016 11:42

It must be exhausting - the unrelenting nature of it. I wonder whether adherents actually feel bone-weary or whether the stumbling from task to task doesn't even allow that?

Spongebobette · 31/08/2016 11:51

They are always in their cars
Or at an evening/ weekend get together where they manafacture more excitement
And always going on about lifelong friendships they've made thru the MLM
It's the blurring of lines between personal and professional life I find particularly weird

forevercrass · 31/08/2016 12:18

When in a MLM you are ALWAYS working. Everything is an opportunity. You are told to go about your daily business but not like "normal" people. You will be constantly trying to drop in about your products / business "opportunity" on the playground, in the nail salon ", while getting your hair done, at parties, community events EVERYWHERE You go. No one is safe. It is exhausting and then you have to fit in time to mentor your team, time to attend training events, business presentations etc. It's 24/7. You are told to stop watching TV and speaking to non prospects (like your family) and if a friend isn't interested then you will no longer see them. They go to the bottom of your list. Oh and housework....get a cleaner (you can try to recruit her and it'll look good on your social media)

Spongebobette · 31/08/2016 12:20

How exhausting!

cozietoesie · 31/08/2016 12:27

I was going to query whether you could recruit your cleaner. Wink

How does it feel, now, being able to meet people without any other agenda? Smile

forevercrass · 31/08/2016 12:27

And boring! No life at all. It's just like being a robot! Now I have gone back to my old hermit ways. I can be non social. I can stick to the same hairdresser. I can meet with friends and bring my kids and find out about THEM not just talk about me! I can watch TV with my hubby and ok so we don't have a much money BUT we are happy

NorbertDentressangle · 31/08/2016 13:14

Re: the exhausting relentless positivity of the top bots fb pages....have you noticed a trend of asking for recommendations for people or places, but always something that alludes to them having money to burn and an exciting lifestyle?

eg. Can anyone recommend a hot tub installation company?
Can anyone recommend a 5* Hotel in ?
Can anyone recommend an architect who deals with multi-million pound conversions on Grade 1 listed mansions?
Can anyone recommend a purveyor of fine yachts?

Funny how it's never ... can anyone recommend a cheap plumber as the bog is blocked again/a nit shampoo as the kids are crawling again/somewhere I can still get a wing mirror for a 1998 Honda Accord as it's rusted and fallen off again? Grin

cozietoesie · 31/08/2016 13:23

Well you wouldn't want to respond with something like 'Gosh - if only I could afford that! ' Wink
