intriguingly, their product range seems to consist of the same products that you can buy cheap in poundland/ 99p stores etc........................

(I know its not about the wampum really. and clearly they do too!)

cozietoesie · 11/04/2016 10:45

Yes - don't be distracted by the wampum too much. Keep your eye on the system.

Toobusytowee · 11/04/2016 11:30

Is the wampum relevant if we can show it is crap/ too expensive? Surely that would be a factor to not get involved, as well as the fact that you won't make money.

cozietoesie · 11/04/2016 12:04

My own - and very personal - view is that 'Yes. It's relevant' - if only because that's what attracts people into a scheme and that's where they may well fall down immediately in direct public estimation or breaches of eg advertising codes. I'm just saying - 'Don't take your eyes off the ball'. That's all. Smile

Toobusytowee · 11/04/2016 12:15

Here's someone else's opinion on the matter.

I've just been looking at the MN thread, and in any 'MLM' racket, it's the reason why the victims hand over their money, which is important.

No matter what 'MLM' propagandists might keep repeating about 'distributors buying and selling products', 'MLM' victims really make unlawful losing-investment payments, because these transactions are based on the false-expectation of future reward. The wampum is only there to launder these unlawful losing-investment payments and make these transactions appear to have been 'lawful purchases' based on value and demand. Absolutely anything can be used as wampum in an MLM racket. The more banal the 'MLM' wampum appears: the more unthinkable the truth becomes.

MrGrumpy01 · 11/04/2016 12:19

50k a month? Count me in.

The figures in this make even less sense than in FL (at least I can see where some of that money comes from) it is hurting my head to work out where the figures come from.

Twunk · 11/04/2016 13:20

TooBusy* nope no idea who that is. They sound wise though...

throwingpebbles · 11/04/2016 14:12

Thanks toobusy missed those insights

#teameyes

stopfaffing · 11/04/2016 14:26

Grin Wink

BeckyMcDonald · 11/04/2016 14:56

That's really interesting eyes toobusy

Thanks Grin

smiinky · 11/04/2016 15:02

Lifetree world, sounds amazing, lose money from home around the kids whilst developing IBS and diabetes from having to live on sugary wampum.
Lifetree World - Amway for the Poundland Generation.

n0taBotfan · 11/04/2016 15:03

Thanks toobusy - always good to get a fresh set of eyes on the situation Wink

throwingpebbles · 11/04/2016 15:12

"Amway for the poundland generation" 😂

cozietoesie · 11/04/2016 15:49

Or simply 'Ampound' ? Wink

prettyusefulsometimes · 11/04/2016 16:46

Thank you for bringing that excellent summation Toobusytowee - I've missed those!!

This: the false-expectation of future reward just sums up what all those fuzzy recruitment posts, FaceBragging and VagueBooking status updates, pretend business acumen and spurious life coaching claims give.

Toobusytowee · 11/04/2016 16:48

That phrase- "false expectation of future reward". I used to just gloss over phrases like that, it didn't really mean anything. Now, it makes perfect sense and reallyuseful is right, it really sums MLMs up.

Toobusytowee · 11/04/2016 16:49

Sorry, I meant 'prettyuseful', not reallyuseful!

Toobusytowee · 11/04/2016 16:53

People are contacting Bot Watch about their experiences with LTW. If anyone reading this is involved and it is going wrong we would be interested to hear from you. Likewise, if you are doing very well, contact Bot Watch as well. You will need to prove how well you are doing and how you are doing it though.

throwingpebbles · 11/04/2016 16:55

And that "false expectation of future reward" is what fools people into spending money they don't have /can't afford on training / subscriptions/ hampers of 99p store cast offs

That's what will mean there are garages stocked to the roof with bottles of yazoo.....

cozietoesie · 11/04/2016 16:58

Unless you're signing people up of course.......Wink

cozietoesie · 11/04/2016 17:01

Sorry. I meant 'referrals' of course.

gottaloveascamhun · 11/04/2016 18:04

Lol smiinky!
It's so sinister isn't it. It preys on those who can't do the maths, have zero business accumen and are vulnerable in so many different ways. Depressing.

gottaloveascamhun · 11/04/2016 18:07

I've nearly finished Merchants of Deception. Free downliad- just Google. False expectation of future reward- oh yes- the author was taken in by Amway, hardly saw his family for 10 years and ended on the brink of bankruptcy, remortgaged 3 times, had to rely on good parcels to feed his family. Not to mention the cult scary mind changing stuff.

BSintolerant · 11/04/2016 18:14

I've had a very polite letter from the ASA apologising for their delay in responding to my complaint and promising to be in touch when they've decided what to do next.

Who is responsible for keeping them busy, I ask myself? Wink

Merchants of Deception should be required reading for recovering bots, or anyone considering getting involved in a multi level marketing scheme. Disturbing stuff, isn't it?

lastuseraccount123 · 11/04/2016 18:14

it's just another freaking MLM, even they admit it.

I downloaded a LTW vid, it's got some similar aspects to Ariix's payment plan, but whatever they call it and however they spin it, it's still all about recruiting and 'building a team'.
