No No - it goes to show the Power of Parslaii! Grin

BSintolerant · 21/04/2016 23:21

melaw Grin you are The Bard!!

I wouldn't dream of posting Emma Freud's address, but I know where she hangs out. Wink

Twunk · 21/04/2016 23:23

Melaw you are a fucking legend

chuckingstones · 21/04/2016 23:28

Toobusy has pretty much summed it up perfectly. Emma said "We're talking about people selling products, not a religious cult!!" - unfortunately there are a few whereby religion is at the heart of the MLM.

Some of the main reasons to be anti-MLM:
Promises are made about income that aren't realised.
People are told "you obviously didn't work hard enough"
You're welcomed in with open arms, "friends" come out of nowhere.
Try to quit, these "friends" will disappear.
Move to another MLM, these "friends" will heavily criticise you behind your back.
You can earn pocket money, yes, but you won't have the earning potential you're promised on sign up. Chances are you'll probably lose money.
Oh, and the health claims - they come thick and fast don't they? I just hope that nobody is seriously affected by something they were told was good for them.

Yes there are "better" MLMs, ones where it's nearly all about the selling rather than recruiting and the prices aren't astronomical (just because xxx extract is in the product). Buying a Tupperware container set or a set of Usborne books has got to be better than trying to "cleanse" yourself with something you can't pronounce half the ingredients of, or wrapping yourself in clingfilm and bandages.

And Emma, you'll find via Timeless Vie (and through Bot Watch and here) that there are plenty of people who have suffered, who have lost money and have been bullied. That's who we stand up for, they have very little voice compared to the almost cultist nature of some MLMers (let's all chant "we are not a pyramid scheme, we are a member of the DSA"). So forgive us if we seem a little one sided, but that's why this thread exists, that's why Bot Watch and Timeless Vie exist. Three small havens where people can vent, rant, moan and feel some comfort from the many thousands of people all chanting the same thing. You only have to go to any "Jobs in XXX county" group on Facebook to see how many people are involved.

For all those that complain that we are "haterz" there are a million Facebook pages, "friends", blogs, Twitter feeds, "gurus" with the so-called other side to this argument.

We are a small band with a big voice, a voice that is getting louder and more resonant, against an incredibly rich multi-national racket of crappy MLM companies with big pockets and unscrupulous morals. And yet people come onto these threads and say we need to give the "other side"?

There is no other side.

They are big huge extremely clever frauds.

They take money from people who can ill-afford it.

They are all pyramid schemes.

They are raking it in whilst exploiting the unpaid labour of countless women (because it's mostly women), whilst lying about the likelihood of any real rewards.

thatoneindoors · 21/04/2016 23:50

The Johannesburg bot has put their bonus cheque is on my timeline. Dear God, you'd think they'd won the lottery.

The "so proud", "amazing", "you deserve it hun" is the generic comment response.

Nice picture for the tax man at least (20-40% off based on income band), minus the cost for travelling to JoBurg/trips/alcohol/food outside of what FL.

I'd say, they're out of pocket as a good guess. The endless hours of ploughing crap onto social media, driving to events, talks and general faff outside of full time work. I'd put the hourly rate at -£5.

I'm not trying to be holier than thou, but I earned more than the cheque displayed via a small rental by sitting on my backside after tax.

Their illusion of grandeur is incredible. My soul would be destroyed if I picked that amount up after the effort I've seen online.

DollyTwat · 21/04/2016 23:56

Melaw I do hope you're going to RECORD that song for YouTube. I think that type of thing goes down very well Grin

Melaw21 · 21/04/2016 23:57

Awwww.. Bless! Theres nothing better than a good 'hunning'! 😂

Re: your earlier post, I am one with a family member very heavily involved. Very concerned for her, actually. She talks about the law of attraction A LOT & shuts down anyone, including me, who she perceives as negative when it is genuine concern on my part. She is pregnant, due any day, & has already confirmed she's not eligible for maternity pay (obviously) but still spending every waking hour, pretty much, 'working her business'. She will (she says) continue to do this when DS arrives. I've given up, TBH.

BeckyMcDonald · 22/04/2016 00:05

I'm with Melaw on this. I mean, FFS athere are EIGHTEEN THREADS of people explaining why all MLMs are scams. Surely Emma, you don't expect us to go through the whole lot again? Just bloody read them for yourself. If you don't agree, fine. Whatever. But don't come here, all head tilty, saying you just don't understand why we are tarring all MLMs with the same brush, and that they're harmless, and just a chance for the little housewives to earn some extra pennies.

It just doesn't wash here,

DollyTwat · 22/04/2016 00:17

Can't we all pack up and go home now Emna says it's ok? Let's not worry our pretty heads about it, we could chat about fluffy kittens or cheese instead

BSintolerant · 22/04/2016 03:12

Caption: "I'll be fluffy again if I drink cactus jizz, even if it does taste like something I did in my litter this morning. Now feed me cheese, you nasty, middle-aged bot-bashing bitches!"

It's no coincidence that there don't seem to be any photos of the hotel the FL bots are staying in in SA - on account of the fact they are staying at a 1960's holiday camp.

More bullshit about this being a FREE trip though.

Are they really so stupid that they don't realise the FL qualification criteria are publicly available so when they also state the number of cc's they qualified with you can very easily work out what they did or didn't get for free- idiots.

I'm guessing my bot has forked out over £20k to make this 'free' jolly look like they are living the dream- quite a chunk from any potential plastic cheque they get tonight.

Just dropping this in here! Trying to keep up but real life job is full on at the moment!

stopfaffing · 22/04/2016 06:56

Bear, I agree it is significant what is not being photographed or eeked about. I wonder how they are really feeling about their accommodation? (I've been in tripadvisor Wink).

How many are starting to see the predicament they are in? That it is all smoke and mirrors? That the bottom line is the struggle ahead to recoup expenses continues when they return home. That they will have to spin the truth to others about their own 'success' in order to recruit them. How long can they continue to live a lie?

stopfaffing · 22/04/2016 07:20

Here's an interesting screenshot showing someone questioning the practicality of having to place orders for all these products every month which won't be suitable for feeding the family. Another bot reassures her by explaining that it doesn't matter what the order contains as it is an 'investment' purchase Grin. Well, who knew!

All MLM companies have products which are irrelevant and massively overpriced, and this is such a good example of why.

orangefizzypop75 · 22/04/2016 07:22

The bot couples I know have both taken their children to SA and numerous other events. They should be in school learning - what effect is all this having on their schooling? Being surrounded by this surely is educating them that it's OK to go and do this for a living instead of a proper career - it's very obviously not!

stopfaffing · 22/04/2016 07:27

And here's an article on Herbalife www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2014-07-07/retiree-says-herbalife-shakes-cost-him-30-000-in-savings

bestegg · 22/04/2016 07:55

Last night i decided to read through the Forever Living 'manual' which is available on their website. I was struck by how much it shows the need to recruit to reach the manager level positions, the focus is entirely on how many Managers you have in your downline not product sales. The number of Managers you must have under you to reach the level of a gem manager surely means the number of adherants in the particular downline must be huge?

I know this has been discussed numerous times on these threads, but reading it really struck me how much the push is on recruitment and not produce sales.

chuckingstones · 22/04/2016 08:01

Week! HMRC will have a field day with that. I still can't see how they'll do fresh fruit delivered in a cardboard box in 3-5 days. Anything will pretty much be at the end of its freshness by then!
And these 20000 products, I'm guessing they won't be in stock, they'll be picked up at the local wholesalers and forwarded on as necessary (I'm also wondering if this will be 19000 different versions of toilet roll and maybe 1000 new products!).
