Stop the thread!!!

I need to know about pancakes in the toaster too.

cozietoesie · 12/03/2016 23:22

I've seen it being played in London, Eye. The punters seemed to be lining up! Wink

NameChangeIe · 12/03/2016 23:22

Yes please Worcester, marrow chutney.bow bad do I want baked Brie and freshly baked bread now.

Surely that's the undiscovered secret to a cure for everything, marrow! Wrinkles, eczema, eternal life, world peace. Marrow!

Good post timeless vie. Its good to educate the public about all of the MLMs, not just the obvious ones.

NameChangeIe · 12/03/2016 23:23

I'm am trying not to order a sandwich toaster after reading the pancakes in a toaster thread, has been nominated for classics.

cozietoesie · 12/03/2016 23:25

Goodness, you're surely not deserting parslaii for marrow?

Eyespying · 12/03/2016 23:27

Various people have described 'MLM' as a giant version of the shell game.

cozietoesie · 12/03/2016 23:30

Interesting.

I mentioned that the punters seemed to be lining up. From listening to their conversations, I received the impression that they all thought that they would be the one to break the run. Didn't realise that they were dealing with seasoned pros I guess. Smile

Twunk · 12/03/2016 23:39

Oh so now the counter-attack is you are all nasty bullies

Right, I would agree that satire has sometimes strayed over to personal attacks. We are individuals and as such cannot control what each person posts. This has turned into a diversionary tactic for what is in fact an exercise in raising awareness about the damaging consequences of MLMs.

Some people just lose £200-£300
Some lose a lot more in monetary terms
Many lose the respect or friendship of others
Many lose self-respect
Some are victims of bullying from their up line - proper, personal bullying, many lose their new "friends" the second they are of no use to them.
It's cut-throat and pretending that it isn't just doesn't cut it.

It's not a business you have chimps - it's just not. You are not a business owner, and you don't recruit other business owners. You line the pockets of others (mostly multi-millionaire Mormons) by exploiting other women.

Go find something real to do.

Toobusytowee · 12/03/2016 23:47

Why MLMs are not a business. www.lazymanandmoney.com/why-mlm-is-not-a-business/

cozietoesie · 12/03/2016 23:51

That thread is evil, Dolly. Grin

Namechangedemon · 12/03/2016 23:56

Just delurking again as I noticed Ariix have "patent-pending" compensation schemes. This type of guff would never be patentable in the UK/Europe so any patent claim has no relevance here.
They might get one in the U.S. though, as rules are different. Here's one of their U.S. Patent applications if anyone has trouble sleeping Smile www.google.com/patents/US20140074625

cozietoesie · 13/03/2016 00:04

I seem to recall that that patent has been 'pending' for at least a couple of years now. It's not that straightforward getting it passed. (Hence they have to use the 'pending' word when I'm sure they'd rather say simply 'patented' or 'unique'. (Or both of course. Grin))

worcestersauce29 · 13/03/2016 00:08

can we do an acronym for the new MLM?? I know there are many very clever people here, here's my (very poor) starter for 10

Against Reality It Is Xcellent??

Namechangedemon · 13/03/2016 00:09

Yea patents tend to rumble on for years. Not that it makes Ariix any more respectable if it does get granted anyway!!

cozietoesie · 13/03/2016 00:15

It would allow them to trumpet a bit - for what that is worth given their prospective audience.

how about - Arrse

Bananasmel · 13/03/2016 01:19

The person who tried to recruit me into FL had lots of laminated pictures of expensive cars and things to try and suck me in. I was wondering if all FLbots have these tools or it's just her.
She was the other half of someone who comes into my work. I know him quite well but had never met her until she tried to recruit me.

CheekySmile · 13/03/2016 06:42

Damn, I knew I went to bed too early

lazycoo · 13/03/2016 06:48

I know! Loved the cheese discussion. Thought everything the troll had to say was incoherent and useless as usual. Don't feed the troll!

cozietoesie · 13/03/2016 06:49

What is this thing with white cars? I had a big(ish) white car once and as far as I remember it drove well - as decent cars do - but was a pig to keep clean and acted as some kind of a magnet for the traffic police.

Why do they seem to aspire to one?

CheekySmile · 13/03/2016 06:54

OMG! Right I'm sorry TV but I'm defecting and starting my own MLM selling pancake toasters. There's clearly an appetite (ha!) for them!
Pancakes At Home aka PAH!

I'll be a multiple 6 figure earner in no time Grin
Waits for the first 'don't defect to PAH' video from TV...

cozietoesie · 13/03/2016 07:13

I'm just waiting for 'aloe pancakes'. Someone has clearly missed a trick there! Grin

Eyespying · 13/03/2016 08:08

Would it be possible for us to get together and patent the essential modus operandi which has been employed by all gangs of 'income opportunity' cultic racketeers? Self-evidently, they couldn't claim it as their intellectual property without admitting what they were really doing. We could then sue anyone using our patent formula for running, and dissimulating, a pyramid scheme and related advance fee frauds, in conjunction with a totalistic thought reform program.

BTW I'm half joking and half serious, or am I being tragicomical?
