Inlovewithastrictmachine You claim that what you do is not sinister but are purposely vague on what it is you actually do, why is that exactly? I agree with Eyespying as we have learned from these threads no one is making any net profit from mlm so you are most likely propping up this venture using funds from the other company.

The real question is why would anyone want to commit financial suicide and jeopardise their company. Was there any correlation to all the time you have invested in this mlm and your subsequent redunancy?

Inlovewithastrictmachine · 19/02/2016 00:45

I joined the MLM to buy stuff cheaper, stuff I liked. I didn't get made redundant because of my shopping choices!

lastuseraccount123 · 19/02/2016 00:49

can we stop accusing people of trollhunting. please.

I think inlove has had some questions and they're perfectly fair. He/she won't say what MLM she/he allegedly belongs to. I think it's fair to be suspicious no? Esp. when he/she is asking us to take his/her word for it that it's all legit? ????????

Or we can just ignore bots posting on this thread. Whatever works for everyone. Grin BUt I think, and I'm talking to all of you, lurking bots and shills, if you come on this thread don't be surprised if you get a lot of questions and a high expecation that you'll be able to back up your position with facts, screenshots, payment plans, etc from your NAMED MLM. And being called out on bs does not = trollhunting in my book.

Patzy85 · 19/02/2016 00:50

Inlove - no hostility at all, but a genuine question while you're here. How many people have you personally recruited and how many have managed to make a profit in your downline?

lastuseraccount123 · 19/02/2016 00:51

Inlove can you name the products you liked so we can price compare? ta.

OP posts:
Patzy85 · 19/02/2016 00:51

Also how many have left your downline?

BSintolerant · 19/02/2016 00:52

These threads are on fire and the smoke's attracting a lot of bot attention.

Good job folks!

lastuseraccount123 · 19/02/2016 00:52

can we see the payment plan for your MLM? you can just linky it if you like.

OP posts:
lastuseraccount123 · 19/02/2016 00:54

inlove how many hours a day do you spend on your 'business'?

OP posts:
Toobusytowee · 19/02/2016 01:06

Sorry, I don't think I explained myself well there. I didn't mean we should just leave the bot to it and believe them. I meant that we should challenge them with questions (which will reveal their lies), but to also carry on with bot watching. Don't let the whole thread be just about saying someone is a plant and allowing them to look like a victim we are ganging up on. That is what they want to happen. They want us to get distracted and look like bullies. We can be polite and factual and ask for facts from them.

I don't think anyone has posted anything wrong at all, it just seems like they are trying to provoke us into looking mean. Don't be provoked, that's all.

lastuseraccount123 · 19/02/2016 01:11

no worries toobusy and you are 100% right :) everyone check out botwatch btw, she's got an update on the false medical claims thing

Patzy totally agree I am currently watching half a dozen of my friends do the MLM dance and they constantly do the "You're either with us or against us" type memes and messages.

I'm not against them I'm just against them being ripped off, trying (in my opinion) to rip me off and then telling me I'm essentially stupid and have no 'vision' or 'motivation for success' because I won't be taken in Hmm

As a salesperson myself for numerous years I never once sold a telly that didn't work and then blamed the customer for not looking at it hard enough. Nor did I pester said customer to then tell everyone how his telly had changed his life and to start selling not just tellies but selling tellies to all their friends and family so I could have a cut of all the tellies sold and get a bonus for every new salesperson.

I genuinely do not understand the desire to turn your friends and relatives into customers and/or employees off whom you earn money. Perhaps a bot/ex bot might enlighten me?

Nor do I understand the "We're all beaUUUUUUUtiful people" vibe which travels hand in hand with the MLM bandwagon. Is this actively encouraged? Do they turn 'uglies' away? Friends have suddenly become photo-shopped phonies of themselves and every photo is an advert for their 'lifestyle' Confused

I mean, don't get me wrong, everyone's very pretty dressed head to toe in Top Shop 'success' but you do realise that, I, as your friend have got a braincell or two to rub together am aware that £100 or so for a whizzy loo brush/tub of magical milkshake/small crate of green gloop/fat dissolving drops/luxurious lash lotion/fabulous fingernails 'starter kit' (you know, so I get the full benefit) is a flipping diddle don't you?

Inlovewithastrictmachine · 19/02/2016 01:13

There's no 'high up' bot in my company telling me what to do. There's no conspiracy theory, or inner circles.

It's not some bonkers Masonic lodge. I don't really think that anything I say will convince you all otherwise. You clearly love your thread and have a mission to bring down all MLMs. I'm bowing out now.

anklebitersmum · 19/02/2016 01:23

Apologies for my post if that's considered mean..went for a brew mid post, ended up washing up, finished and pressed send and we'd moved on significantly. Blush

I am genuinely confused though as to how right-minded, middle-aged people with good careers don't just see mlm for what it is from the outset. I mean it seems pretty obvious to me but is that just because I'm a cantankerous old boot?

Patzy85 · 19/02/2016 01:25

Inlove - I don't ask the questions to try and trip you up, just merely to gain a better understanding. It just seems that these are the questions that bots never answer for some reason.

I see so much about "helping others better themselves" and how this opportunity brings wealth/happiness/friendship/balance/success/freedom but naturally wonder how many are only ever left it of pocket and feeling like a failure. These threads have shown that evidently the vast majority lose out in these schemes. No one has yet proved otherwise.

Toobusytowee · 19/02/2016 01:28

Anklebitersmum, I'm going to do a blog post one day soon on why people get sucked into these things. Based on books I've read and qualifications I have. And people's experiences on these threads and TV.

lastuseraccount123 · 19/02/2016 01:29

inlove unfortunately you're right, nothing you say will make us change our minds.

Evidence will change our minds though - real evidence, hard facts. So far none of the people who claim to be in MLMs have been able to provide us with any evidence to prove we are wrong.

OP posts:
Inlovewithastrictmachine · 19/02/2016 01:40

I'm not prepared to share all of my financial info on an Internet forum.

I don't use profits from my other company to 'prop up' the MLM - that would make no sense?

I'm not going to share my team numbers either but about 20% of them will either buy stuff for themselves or sell in any one month. You don't have to buy stuff every month with this company.

Of my team, some of them sell just to get their own stuff free, and a few are like me - taking it more seriously and making some money.

Some people joined to make friends. Some people joined and did nothing.

I will leave this thread now. Just to reiterate - I'm a human, not a bot or adherent. Thanks to the folk who have chosen to treat me like one on this thread.

lastuseraccount123 · 19/02/2016 01:48

we don't need your financial info, but nice strawman argument there inlove

a link to the payment plan? the name of the MLM?

Gimlet1984 · 19/02/2016 02:01

Same story every time on this thread. A member of an Mlm company comes on here and makes lots of claims but when we ask them for some clarity or truth to what it is they are saying they feel they have to 'bow out' and leave the thread completely. Do you not like being challenged because the truth hurts?

lastuseraccount123 · 19/02/2016 02:19

in other news, nearly 23,000 views of TV.

in also other news, welcome to lurkers and ex-bots who need support. We are here to support YOU. We all know anyone can be sucked into an MLM and it's no reflection on you, or your intelligence, or integrity.

Morning! Already new thread has more than 70 posts Grin. I bet it will be full by next Tuesday, say 6pm. Anyone want to top that? slightly derails thread

Oh hi inlove, sorry I missed you. It is unfortunate that you haven't stuck around a bit longer. We are not getting at you personally, just wanting evidence and facts backed up cos' we don't believe any MLM adherent who claims anything, without evidence. Evidence has shown us it is all lies and smoke and mirrors, Sad.

Inlovewithastrictmachine · 19/02/2016 08:05

If I was friends with you in RL, I'd happily show you all the information you've asked for. I don't believe though, that it would make any difference. This is a public forum - and I don't have to do anything. You don't have to believe me either - it won't make any real difference to my life.

There's a world of difference between someone who was coerced into something because they were promised unlimited income and dreams come true, and someone that's signed up to something because they like what they're buying / selling and the company.

Someone asked me how much time I put into it. It's about 3 days a week on average, sometimes more, sometimes less. It deoends on what's going on with the other business - I have to juggle it with family life (just the same as with my orevious job).

We don't all need saving. I do hope that you are pointing the people who have been hurt and damaged in the right direction though as you don't seem like an awfully sympathetic /empathic group to me. The only point of view you are interested in is one which matches your polemic - not any shades of grey .

I haven't been sucked into an MLM. I chose one, and I'll stick with it as it suits me at the moment. If it stops being something I want to do, I'll leave. It really is that simple. Nobody will give me a hard time.

I don't want to stop folk from having somewhere to find solace as I think there is value in what you do, I just wanted to share my experiences. I've done that now - and have gone as far as I'm prepared to go on an anonymous national forum with a bunch of strangers.

Kanga59 · 19/02/2016 08:32

It's a shame in love can't back up anything he's saying. and is now leaving cos we won't believe his un backed up "my MLM is a nice one" claims.

I can only deduce that he doesn't properly understand how the financials work, where the money flows, and he's overlooking lots of his own expenses in favour of turnover.

shall we have a sweepstake on when the next one will be along? I bet a tub of Parslaii puree that within 24th we will see

  • new poster claiming their MLM is lovely and they are just a normal person making it within that MLM
  • They won't answer specific questions about earnings, recruiting, or name the MLM
  • They won't stay for long and will leave on the 'I'm bowing out now cos you're all mean" hence tying to make us look like bullies but actually we are wanting to know the detail of how their "good" MLM works because so far, as shown on TV and BOT WATCH, the only evidence we have found is of people losing money, losing friends, be your own best customer, get rid of the kids.so.whatever you have to do
I could go on.

so to repeat to our newest #BotBabe

  • which MLM
  • what's your typical monthly net profit
  • how many do you typically recruit pm
  • how big is your down line

you are totally anonymous here. that's the joy of an Internet forum. so share away. You are among friends and supporters. We wish you all the best, we actually do
