Have you received a letter from HMRC or Concentrix? This is part 8 now. Have you had the dreaded letter demandeing evidence you live alone? Hopefully we can support each other and try and make sense of it all.

So my tax credits went in today but I'm still unable to use tax creds website, so obviously it still hasn't been looked at despite being allocated to someone 2 weeks ago now!

michelle388 · 19/08/2016 10:56

Shouldstart, same here; i received normal amount today but was told on 8th july it had been allocated to a worker to look at! Is yours about childcare?

Michelle no mine was another adult letter, do you call for updates or have you just left them to it? My case has been goin on now since June 7th, fed up of worrying over this

michelle388 · 19/08/2016 12:34

I have been calling for an update but not called since i was told case was allocated to the decision team, i tried calling yesterday and constantly on hold so give up - i might try again later. My case has been ongoing since April

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 19/08/2016 13:26

I have phoned today and was just about to b passed over to someone to deal with my case today and the line went dead so am on hold again now. I would keep trying as it will probs get don today for u too as you have been waitin a long time too

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 19/08/2016 13:56

Just off the phone again n told it will have been dealt with by tmoz latest so il call back then for the verdict

michelle388 · 19/08/2016 14:09

I'll try again today - was you on hold long today

Allgoodnamesaretaken1 · 19/08/2016 14:16

Just called them and been told there's no changes to my claim! So relieved it's all done! Will be glad when I get the letter confirming it though. I called the day before yesterday and the woman I spoke to said she'd try her best to look at it the following day (yesterday) because it had been with decisions for a few weeks.

Mine was for having another adult at my address. But it was just because my virgin media account was still in my ex's name and they wouldn't change the name.

michelle388 · 19/08/2016 14:21

Aww thats great news - i am currently on hold. Did it take you long to get through today?

Allgoodnamesaretaken1 · 19/08/2016 14:24

Yeah I was on hold for about 30 minutes before they answered. Thank god for unlimited minutes! I just put my phone on loud speaker and got on with stuff until they answered.

michelle388 · 19/08/2016 14:27

Only been on hold 15 mins. Sad put phone on loud speak! Hopefully not too long

michelle388 · 19/08/2016 14:53

Well i'm no better off after being on hold for 35 mins, spoke to a really nice lady, was told my case still with decision makers, she said it all looks ok but cant say when it will be ready and to just keep waiting. I also mentioned childcare costs will be going down next week and they are unable to update whilst case with decision makers so i wil be getting over paid until case is closed! Its absolutely ridiculous!!!

I received a letter on Saturday of Concentrix as they had reason to believe I may not be a single parent. I rang them and they told me the mans name and I have nver heard of him! They also told my child's tax and housing benefit has been stopped and I now have 30 days to do a mandotry reconsideration. Spoke to my landlord who has confirmed the man they have mentioned used to live at this address around 10 years ago but he dosent have the tenancy agreement anymore. I'm so stressed do t no how they expect me to live now

Allgoodnamesaretaken1 · 23/08/2016 17:16

Elc92 is that the first letter you've had from them? That's terrible they stopped your money already before you've even had chance to send them anything.

Elc92 · 23/08/2016 17:55

Yes iits the first letter. I'm fuming how can they think I'm with the person when I don't even no them. I asked them how am I supposed to live now and there response was because we have reason to believe there is somebody else at the property that they can help you. I sent all the documents they asked for today 1st class recorded and it cost me £7.25. They said once it's been dealt with I will get everything back dated x

2016Blyton · 23/08/2016 19:04

It would be worth in a letter also telling them who that person is - tenant from 10 years ago as if they are getting that kind of reason to send these letters somethingi s very wrong. Surely he can't still be on the electoral register still, ten years on?

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 23/08/2016 19:15

Strange that they just instantly stopped your money without giving you the chance to send ur docs in, never in all the threads heard of that

Elc92 · 23/08/2016 19:22

I have sent a letter in of my landlord and the mans new address with the documents I sent. They wanted bank statements, tenancy agreement, council tax and some other bills X

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 23/08/2016 19:57

You should if had 4 weeks to get all that stuff into them and if you don't send it by that time then they stop your money. Yours is the first case I've heard if this happening you should call and complain to a manager, they haven't dealt with you properly

Loulabell09 · 24/08/2016 13:58

Elc92 if you have not been given 30 days to provide your documents they have not followed proper procedure. If I was you I would go to Citizen's Advice as soon as possible and get them to contact them on your behalf. They cannot stop your tax credits and other benefits without giving you opportunity to provide documents etc. Hope you get this sorted asap x

notmrscookie · 27/08/2016 05:32

I renewed on line and lucky took a screen shot because I got a letter a few weeks back saying you failed to renew .We stopped your money .you need to pay bacvk etc. Rang them up ..lady sorted it . still no paperwork and earliest money 4 to 6 weeks. .. The whole thing is a shambles .

Elc92 · 27/08/2016 08:00

I was told both my housing benefit and Childs tax would top. Checked my bank on Thursday when I am supposed to receive them both and my housing benefit had gone in but my child's tax never. I've spoke to Concentrix who have told me they have until 5th October to make a decision! X

SoulSista85 · 28/08/2016 20:54

I've had absolutely no communication from Concentrix whatsoever. Yet, I still have to get in touch with them. That puts us £165 down a week for the foreseeable future and I can't think of one reason why. 😞 Any advice - from the start of the process onwards?
What a load of absolute bullshit. I get it for fraudsters - that does happen.
But seriously?! Why the hell are the vast majority of single parents here getting compliance checks for working our bollocks off and being totally honest?! 😠😠
