Have you received a letter from HMRC or Concentrix? This is part 8 now. Have you had the dreaded letter demandeing evidence you live alone? Hopefully we can support each other and try and make sense of it all.

You are all a bunch of yaps! Seriously act like proper adults. I get that it's a stressful thing to go through but if you's didn't call up every few minutes things would get done quicker
I had a check before and I asked the person I knew who worked there
They advised me not to call at all
The more calls they have to take then the more time it takes to get decisions made. I didn't call and I'm sure that everyone else still called but it was one less call they had to take every day which meant that it was one more person free to work my case
It still took a few weeks because of the backlogs they had but it got solved in the end (btw mine was a check regarding my employment). So all I'm trying to say is if you lay off these people with calls etc then things will get done quicker
Call up if you need to but don't call up to check for updates cus it's just gonna delay everything

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 16/08/2016 11:45

So why do they advise people to call back in a few more days to see if their case has been looked at yet? And when your basically being accused of committing fraud and they will stop your money that your children and family depend on over something such as someone else's post coming to your address 4+ months is a long time to have it hanging over you while they sort their shit out!go away!

bloodyteenagers · 16/08/2016 13:18

If needs be I will phone them every single day until they resolve their screw up.
I have now written to them including the marriage certificate. I have also let them know that I will be taking this to tribunal because it's down to them to proof that I have committed an offence. Not for me to proof my innocence. And the claim should not have been stopped by them.
I sat last night and read though previous decisions and used them to cite mine.

I suggest anyone going through the TC hell read the link. There's a few shocking ones. One that sticks out, was a decision had been made in February by hmrc to stop a claim due to no response of a letter sent in april the same year.

Bibbidy · 17/08/2016 10:31

Good news guys, I've had my no change letter back this morning.
So for anyone thinking about timescales I had letter early June, sent all evidence by 27th June and letter dated 9th August stating no changes recieved today 17tg August along with final decision letter from hmrc and award notice for this year.
Hopefully you will all get resolved soon x

Loulabell09 · 17/08/2016 11:48

Bibbidy brilliant news, really pleased for u. Hope the letters keep arriving with good news x

Loulabell09 · 17/08/2016 12:01

Does anybody know if you are able to manage your tax credits online when your case is with Concentrix or are you locked out?

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 17/08/2016 12:06

I've been locked out since concentrix started

Loulabell09 · 17/08/2016 12:11

Thanks Shouldstartaprotest16 I registered today and was able to view next months payment so I take it Concentrix have notified HMRC my case is closed even though I have no letter yet x

Bibbidy · 17/08/2016 12:22

Yes loula I've been able to view in the last week so looks like it's a matter of waiting for letter now ... Yay!

michelle388 · 17/08/2016 13:15

Aww good news bibbay, im still waiting since April. Im starting to worry now as mine has been so long Sad

michelle388 · 17/08/2016 13:40

I've tried to call then again this morning but been on hold for 20 mins so hung up! My dd childcare js reducing in cost next week due to the 15 hours free and i need to let them know. Does anyone know, can i write to concentrix to let them know? I dont want an overpayment but really struggling to get through

michelle388 · 17/08/2016 13:42

Thats good news
Loulabel it sounds like your case has been closed. Im still unable to log in on line.

Loulabell09 · 17/08/2016 13:45

michelle388 you could write to them and send it signed for to make sure they get it or try phoning after 7 in the evening. That's when I always phoned and you get through pretty quick x

michelle388 · 17/08/2016 13:59

Thanks loula, im just starting to panic now as ive always got through ok in previous weeks. How long have you been waiting all together x

Loulabell09 · 17/08/2016 14:20

I got the letter last week in May, sent documents 7th June and received them back 13th June. I have phoned once a week for an update and finally last Friday evening the guy I spoke to checked my stuff and said he was going to close my case as it all looked fine to him but still waiting on the letter to confirm. My case would still be in a queue had I not phoned so in my opinion it really is worth ringing. Also a former Concentric employee posted on this thread the best time to ring is after 7 as it easier to get through. Hope you get some answers soon as you have been waiting a long time x

michelle388 · 17/08/2016 14:25

Thank you - i will try again at around. 7pm. Yes i received letter end of april and sent everything off that week, i received documents back beginning of may! Must be such a good feeling when it is all closed x

Loulabell09 · 17/08/2016 15:52

It is such a relief but still won't be content until I have the letter confirming. Hope u get through to someone who will take the time to assess your case when you are on the phone. Explain how long you are waiting because the guy I got on Friday said he would assess my case when I mentioned I had got the letter in May. Good luck and let us know how you get on x

howonearthdidigethere · 17/08/2016 16:42

Hi,

I've joined Mumsnet just to be able to join this thread (although I've been lurking since around 2008!)

I've been on wtc and tc for 18 months and am really hoping to be off them in September when I increase my hours in work. The system has saved my life and I'd defend it till the end of the earth. However, I was asked to send proof of childcare costs to Concentrix at the end of June and I did so within days. It took a fortnight to get my evidence back. I had been deducting my ex's childcare voucher from my total childcare costs so I had been underestimating my costs with HMRC. I had also underestimated my salary (part salary, part freelance) by around 1500 a year so I am expecting a small rebate. It's been around 15 weeks now, though and I haven't heard. I'm so broke and it's been such a tough summer holiday not being able to do anything really nice for the children. Is anyone able to advise me on any aspects of my situation. I'd be so grateful. I'm also really scared as there seem to be quite a few not-nice outcomes to this process as well.. fines etc. I have called Conxentrix around 3 times (over 100 attempts to get through on one occasion, the system has been down 3 times and the inevitable wait of around 30 minutes each time too.) Anyway. Thanks so much and I hope everyone else's cases are resolved soon.

michelle388 · 17/08/2016 17:12

Hi howonearth, i too am also waiting to hear about my childcare. Mine is a little different than you as i didn't let hmrc know that ex pays childcare vouhers as part of his maintenance, as i didnt think i had to, so i think i will owe them some money but i have still not heard from them. I received my first letter in April. I am going to try and ring them later when the lines are hopefully quieter

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 17/08/2016 17:18

I am also in panic mode as they told me a week and a half ago that my case had been assigned to Some one to look at and that part of the process is usually quick, but yet I've still had no letter and still can't sign into tax creds website. Surely it must of been looked through by now if it's actually in someone's pile to work through? Guess I will find out by Friday as that's wen my tax creds would go in

howonearthdidigethere · 17/08/2016 17:21

Thanks for your reply, Michelle. I've had conflicting information about the childcare vouchers, to be honest. The thread started by the former Concentrix employee says that if you claim a voucher, discount it, as you're not entitled (which is valid and fair) but, when I was first searching this, I found another post by an HMRC employee who says that an ex's voucher can be used as part payment for any outstanding amount after the wtc contribution - does that make sense? I figured that that was because we don't personally benefit from the tax reduction. I initially claimed the smaller amount, minus the voucher contribution, but I don't think that this was correct. I hope this doesn't sound incredibly grabby. As I said, the system has been a life-saver for me and I'm so grateful and am increasing my hours as the system has enabled me to get back to a place where I am well enough to do so.

howonearthdidigethere · 17/08/2016 17:23

Oh really good luck for Friday, Shoulda. What a messed up process...

Loulabell09 · 18/08/2016 10:51

So relieved, just got my letter from Concentrix no amendments needed. My case was another adult letter, timeline was
Letter dated 23rd May
Received letter 28th May
Sent documents 7th June
Received back 13th June
Case closed on phone12th August
Letter dated 12th August
Received letter 18th August
Whole thing took 12 weeks from start to finish and would be still not dealt with only I phoned. Hope everyone waiting gets their letter soon and can put this behind them x

Bibbidy · 18/08/2016 11:17

Excellent lula so happy for you!

michelle388 · 18/08/2016 11:59

Brilliant news lou, so pleased for you x
