Have you received a letter from HMRC or Concentrix? This is part 8 now. Have you had the dreaded letter demandeing evidence you live alone? Hopefully we can support each other and try and make sense of it all.

Before the 15th of July! Lovelyname I was feeling positive after the call until I decided to google the company after requesting to speak with a manager when the call handler said 'call back in 20mins as our call volume is high and we have to keep it down!!' How a government department can associate themselves with this joke of a 'company' is beyond me! I've already paid back my overpayment (everything i claimed in 7 months paid back in full!) and not claiming again but someone at HMRC thinks I am owed a refund (which let's face it will never happen) and can't decide for themselves so I am now left with these people!! So frustrating it's beyond me how they haven't been shut down or their contract renewed with HMRC as they must be missing all their KPI's. At least weren't are alone in this mayhem 🙁

Bibbidy · 10/08/2016 21:31

Hi I've not posted before....
I had another adult letter Early June, sent all info in by the end of June and only called to confirm they had received.
I'm due to go back to work soon after maternity so unsure if hmrc would let me do this via them so thought stuff it I'm going to call hmrc. I asked if Concentrix were still dealing with my case she went quiet and explained she was reading my notes....was really evasive on weather Concentrix were still involved she said they sent somethings over to complience team yesterday to see if they had made the right decision and then I would know what that decision was which could be about 2 weeks but she couldn't say.
What the hell does this mean?? Does anyone know??
She said I could log online to see any paperwork. I did try earlier but can't see anything ... I don't know what I'm looking for. Feel more stressed now.
She said I had to check with Concentrix on what changes they could make for me regarding work and childcare claim then call back.
Anyone else spoke to hmrc and had similar? X

Gemclippo1 · 10/08/2016 22:35

I am dumbfounded that the women at HMRC couldn't give you an answer. Considering they outsource this to Concentrix and I got told today by William that once they make a decision a letter will be sent to me and the case closed as it is handed back to HMRC they have no further dealings once decision made. Seems like HMRC did yet another fob off. I hope you get somewhere soon as from all these posts I've only read one positive x

Bibbidy · 10/08/2016 22:55

Thanks gemclip, I just don't know what to make of it all. I'm getting increasingly anxious as if they decide to stop payment etc I won't be able to afford childcare to go back to work. Hope you get to hear something soon too x

Overtiredbackagain · 11/08/2016 10:39

My signed for letter (which the postman just posted through my letterbox!) was my returned documents with a letter "we will be in touch shortly"! It's taken them 12 weeks to return, I was told they were scanned on the system at the end of May!! I'm so over this now, I'm not going to stress about it, I know I will probably have quite a substantial overpayment, I will have to work out how much I can afford to pay back each month, but it won't be more than £100 a month, as much as I would love to pay it off quicker, with crazy childcare fees, that's never going to happen Sad

Bibbidy · 11/08/2016 20:47

Hope it's not too long now overtired. I had a childcare inquiry a few years ago, thought I'd have a big over payment but they said was only 400 pounds... You never know with these jokers x

Overtiredbackagain · 11/08/2016 23:13

Fed up with it now, do they not realise that 99% of people claim it because the NEED it!? Sad

LisaMarieLovesSummer2000 · 12/08/2016 02:28

well....I had the letter about 6 weeks ago saying that they had reason believe someone else was living with me. I've just cone out of a domestically abusive relationship where a restraining order was granted in my favour. I have 2 children aged 3 and 7 I don't work so have no childcare costs.
I just ignored the letter they can do the required checks them self's if needed. I called them and told them all they needed to know and mentioned the restraining order as they told me it was my ex they suspected. haven't heard anything since my money hasn't stopped. haven't heard anything from them or had any other letters. X

Loulabell09 · 12/08/2016 21:51

Phoned Concentrix tonight at 7 and finally got through to a lovely guy after 45 mins on hold. He put me through security questions and then looked through my documents. He asked me a few questions regarding my ex and said everything looked fine and as he was working overtime tonight he would be happy to go through my case and close it as it all looked in order. I could not believe he was not giving me same old story about decisions team and asked him again did that mean my case was now closed and he said yes he would be closing it and I would receive a letter in the next week stating no amendments needed and my payments would continue as normal. Cannot believe this is finally over after the worst 3 months I have ever had. At the same time I won't be happy until that letter is in my hand but I think I might get a good night's sleep tonight after stressing for so long. So glad I phoned tonight as I wasn't going to as I have been so down this past 2 weeks with stress. Really hope everyone else on here gets their good news soon. This thread has really helped me through this awful time and I appreciate the support I have got from u all. I will keep u updated when I get letter through and timeline which will hopefully help others. Going to spend the last 2 weeks of the summer spoiling my little girl before she starts school xx

Manwithnoface · 13/08/2016 01:38

I know people who work in concentrix and by it's not fair all the abuse you give them. At the end of the day they are just doing their jobs! So give them some slack as they are trying to help you's and if you's don't like it then you's can always get off the tax credit system and get a job

Bibbidy · 13/08/2016 07:04

Manwithnoface: I think you will find the vast majority of tax credit claimants do indeed have a job! It is that they are low paid and need the tax credit to be able to manage.
You obviously don't need tax credits for now, so I'm not sure why you would want to be on this thread. Perhaps "yous" should educate yourself a bit.
Given the sheer number of people on here who can give their awful personal experiences of this company, it would indicate that actually, something is going wrong! Maybe with the staff (Who I'm sure are low paid workers who also would be likely to claim tax credit) or the management who should be seeing that there are fair and consistent systems in place to avoid such backlogs of work.

Manwithnoface · 13/08/2016 14:36

I am educated thank you I have more education behind me than most of the people on here
And the staff who work in concentrix are doing a good job
They sit and work relentlessly to get everyone their money who deserve it
They also get abuse daily from everyone who calls up! It's not fair that they are getting hassled for doing their job
Their protocol is just the same as HMRC and when HMRC do these checks everyone is happy to comply because they know they will get away with it but when concentrix come in to do their job and stop people defrauding the system that people like myself work to pay for then all hell breaks lose. I get that people depend on the money but not everyone needs it, most people just want something for nothing!

Loulabell09 · 13/08/2016 21:44

Having read this thread from part 1 and following people's stories and experiences, it has achieved in my view what it is here for. To support and help people going through difficult situations with HMRC and Concentrix investigations. There are people that do cheat the system but for the ones that don't and rely on these tax credits to survive, these investigations are so stressful and worrying. When you hear how others have been left with no way of feeding themselves and their children due to mistakes being made in the decision process of course you will worry. I personally have never abused any member of staff in Concentrix or HMRC and never would as I do not hold individual people responsible for this investigation. I hope everyone that has been on this thread continues to use it as a lifeline of support as I have done and does not feel they can't because certain individuals think it is ok to come on here and kick people when they are down with their views and opinions when they couldn't possibly know how worrying and alone this can make you feel unless they have been through a similar situation. Hope you all are well and get answers soon x

Overtiredbackagain · 14/08/2016 09:58

I found myself needing financial support when I left my emotionally abusive exhusband, and whilst my job in an internationally renowned law firm paid a good wage, it was not enough to help me scrape through paying extortionate childcare fees, whilst the DCs dad decided not to contribute. I am grateful for the tax credits we receive, I applied for them out of necessity. I left school with Grade A and B GCSEs at 16 and I have worked every day of my career since then, I am now 42. So I feel justified in asking Manwithnoface to fuck off and stop trying to make people who are looking for support on this thread, like they have no rights!!

Bibbidy · 14/08/2016 15:53

Well said loula and over. I hope that this thread continues to support those going through the Concentrix issue.

I'm not sure why manwithnoface is so judgmental of others. They obviously think of themselves as important, given they appear to judge who is deserving or not of tax credit. You may well be educated, but not in this subject matter. which is why I was implying you educate yourself about it. May your bubble never burst!

2016Blyton · 14/08/2016 17:13

It is the disorganisation and delay people are complaining about on here and "man" gives no answers on that. C needs to be a lot more efficient as do HMRC who are also very very slow indeed.

Manwithnoface · 14/08/2016 20:35

Overtiredandbackagain I have no need to "fuck off". This is a public post and I am entitled to state my opinion the same as everyone on this thread and the several others who bitches and moans about hard working people doing their job. And also they are trained to the highest degree the same as hmrc officers and other civil service workers. These posts are just another way to belittle people and like I said in my previous post if you don't like it get off tax credits and go get a better job with a better wage. People can live on basic wage and pay for childcare etc without using tax credits. Not everyone claiming needs them and those people should be ashamed Angry

Overtiredbackagain · 14/08/2016 21:08

And on that lovely note from Manwithnoface I am leaving this thread. I have found a lot of support from people on here that have found themselves in the same position as me. I have worked for nearly 30 years, I work as an EA for a U.S. Law firm, I do not need to be told I am not doing well enough to support my children, whilst their dad decides he dies not need to support anything financially.

I wish those well on this thread, until the poster on here decides He has something better to do than slagging off and trying to belittle those that are trying to do better for their children, I will not be returning Sad

Bibbidy · 14/08/2016 22:00

That's a shame overtired I hope you get an end to this soon.
Man with no name you are very ignorant. Do the maths! People do need the help.
Do you know how much a full time nursery place costs for 1 child? £250 per week on average, higher depending where you live! There's £1000 + per month before even taking into account rent (£650 a month for me) now take in to account all household bills eg gas, electricity, tv license, water council tax, internet, food shopping costs, school meals, petrol and car maintenance, clothing and so on you need to be earning a very, very good wage to be able to do that without any help.
I have a full time job that pays a good wage:£24000 but without tax credits wouldn't even cover basics. Even with tax credits I by no means have an extravagant lifestyle I don't take my children abroad, we don't have trips to the cinema, I shop in aldi, I don't get haircuts or nails done etc. And this is on a good wage compared to others who earn even less. I've done my best to achieve this, been to college been to uni and at the moment this is what I'm able to earn.
Did you know, more children live in poverty where a parent is actually in work?
Did you know almost 65% of single parents are in employment?
Get in the real world or as overtired said : Fuck Off!

bloodyteenagers · 15/08/2016 12:04

Seems I have just entered the contrix hell.
Received a letter from hmrc my claim has been stopped. And I owe them for this year and last year. I had a change of circumstances last year which I informed them about.
Phoned up confused because I do qualify.
Aparantly contrix have sent compliance letter which I haven't received. I have a partner aparantly. Said but I don't there's me adult dd and eligible ds.
Called contrix explained everything and I had no letter. Their system is down so cannot tell me a thing, which would have been nice to know rather than waiting over 30 minutes, never mind the 30 minutes of engaged.
Dreading it especially as some of you guys have waited 10 weeks.

Stormtreader · 15/08/2016 12:30

"These posts are just another way to belittle people and like I said in my previous post if you don't like it get off tax credits and go get a better job with a better wage. And if they have that attitude, its no wonder that they feel they can swear and blatantly lie to people, after all they probably "dont need it" anyway, right?
The government have decided that tax credits will be provided to everyone fitting the criteria, and its the job of C staff to provide and facilitate that. Theyre being paid to provide a service, no matter how much training that requires, and if they cant do that without an uppity and judgy attitude then they should find another job.

NordicNoirRocks · 15/08/2016 13:01

Ive had a 'line busy' dial tone when I've tried to call Concentrix over the last few days. Has anyone else noticed this?

bloodyteenagers · 15/08/2016 15:31

Yes this morning and now.

bloodyteenagers · 15/08/2016 16:31

This is fucking ridiculous. And I really wish I was making this up.
Finally got back in touch.
They sent out a letter back in June and acknowledge that there is a note on my account that lots of mail get mis-delivered, and this is backed up by documentation from Royal Mail. Because there's 4 addresses on my road that are very, very similar. 1 of the properties is short term private rentals and lots of mail either gets binned or sent back. RM and us have requested the lettings agent stop doing this but no (whole different debate). So anyway, important stuff is usually sent via recorded and I get a text notification. This wasn't done. Other companies are mainly all online, or they email me.
So lady on the phone said, yes there's two people associated on your address not mentioned on your claim
. Do you get mail for other people (explained the above) and also my adult dd who has left still has her bank account registered here, but lives elsewhere which can be proven, it's not her.
Said the only other person is my other adult dd who lives here and until recently I was claiming for but no longer eligible. Oh for Gods sake, said the lady. She can obviously see it's her.
Tells me the name of the other person. Says to her, it's probably on your system thats my maiden name. Any company that allows me to use my maiden without divorce I have changed over. Cos every time I get enough together to start it, something like this happens and I have to spend my little bit of savings.
So now I have to send off my marriage certificate. Which actually doesn't proof a thing really, and my daughters BC who lives here.
How long it will take to do the mandatory reconsideration to reopen my case who knows..
All because a system just sends out thousands of letters a week and no-one physically checks anything. Had a check been put in place, I would never have been sent out a letter.
The only good this I suppose is that it will all get back dated. But still not a good day to wake up to letters saying you owe HMRC 1,000's.
