Have you received a letter from HMRC or Concentrix? This is part 8 now. Have you had the dreaded letter demandeing evidence you live alone? Hopefully we can support each other and try and make sense of it all.

Do you have confirmation that you completed it online?

Blabla85 · 06/07/2016 14:00

Na don't worry about renewing I had already done mine on the Internet and they asked me as well on my letter , it just a standard letter they send I think so don't worry Hun x

Myusernameis2016 · 06/07/2016 14:09

So I've sent off all my original documents almost 6 weeks ago an now they have told me (after weeks of telling me there's a backlog) that all paperwork is scanned within a few days? So now they say that all my documents are lost? I'm so angry!!!! Is anyone else waiting for their documents to be scanned onto their computers? I have wasted so much of my time and money on this!!!

mouseymummy · 06/07/2016 22:21

I didn't get any confirmation?!? I didn't realise you did, I did mine last year online and never received anything, just the usual documentation you get after completing your renewal!!

My housing officer didn't call back today so I'm going to chase that. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do it today as I had an issue with my daughter walking out of school just after lunch. It's been a fun day 😫

user1465562572 · 07/07/2016 08:18

Hmrc received my renewal form - I got a text message saying it will take up to 8 weeks to renew! As u know stupid Concentrix stopped my payments I think it's a way of forcing me to go to the IUC !

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 07/07/2016 15:32

Ok so I tryed to log into my account for ctc on the gov site and it Wundt let me see when my payments are scheduled so rang tax creds who then told me I need to respond to any more info letters from concentrix, I said I haven't received one and she told me to call them which I did and systems are being updated so told to wait an hour and half so will let u no wat happens, if they wer gonna send me a more info letter would they not have don that before sending my docs back with a cover letter saying they'd write to me shortly about my tax creds claim?

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 07/07/2016 15:33

P.s first time I've rang concentrix so wish me luck lol

Allgoodnamesaretaken1 · 07/07/2016 16:12

Yeah I've not been able to use the online service since this whole concentrix thing started. Hope it all goes ok when you call them! Let us know how you get on. They where fine on the 2 occasions I've spoken to them and didn't have long to wait to get through either.

Blabla85 · 07/07/2016 16:13

I've not been able to check my tax credits online since Concentrix started sending me letters not tried to log in since , how ever when it first stopped letting me check online hrmc couldn't answer me why just said some people have issues! X

TheOnlyColditz · 07/07/2016 16:21

Re Concentrix and paperwork - I sent them 3 KILOS of paperwork by recorded delivery. There were probably takeaway menus in there, 5 years of bank statements, doctor's appointment letters etc - and it cost a fortune to post but it was worth it to chuckle to myself, imagining them having to keep it and pick through it because it was recorded delivery and they oculdn't just 'lose' it!!!! Tee hee

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 07/07/2016 17:45

So rang them they said my case is with the decision makers, they also told me it's my ex,s name linked to my address, until recently he was havin payslips delivered to mine as he hadn't bothered to change it to his own address and wud pick them up wen he came to see the kids. Wish I hadn't phoned cos just feel stressed over it again

Loulabell09 · 07/07/2016 18:09

Shouldstartaprotest16 if your ex's payslips were being delivered to your address that probably means that his work has his tax and national insurance registered at your address also. This is were they have probably got info from as I don't think they would have access to work records for every company. If this is the case tell your ex to update his address with work asap and at least you can explain it was an oversight and he just had not got around to changing it with work x

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 07/07/2016 18:27

The company he works for use an accountants to sort every ones wages and send out payslips. He has recently changed the address to his own with accountants so hopefully that's enough. Not gonna call concentrix again just gonna wait it out and see wat they decide to do. My ex is on my bank statements because he pays me maintenance fortnightly but I explained all that in a letter. Just hopin the payslip thing isn't enough for them to stop my money :(

Allgoodnamesaretaken1 · 07/07/2016 18:32

I haven't called them since I called to check they received my stuff as the tracking wasn't updated. That's why I'm not calling them though, I think it'd just get me stressed out! Im trying not to worry as I know I'm not doing anything wrong, I've sent everything they asked for, my bank statements show I pay the bills, including the virgin media bill which is in ex's name. So they can't say I'm not financially independent.

Loulabell09 · 07/07/2016 18:58

Shouldstartaprotest16 that's good that he changed the address with accountants. Hopefully u will hear from them sooner rather than later and as u say u have explained everything they might question so try not to stress u have done nothing wrong. Surely they have to understand with couples splitting that it isn't black and white and were children are concerned there are going to be ties there until they become adults. Also all dads are not dead beats and want to be involved in their kids lives. It's hard to resist calling but after concentrix101 explained the process I have decided to just wait for the decision letter even though it's awful. It will be 6 weeks now since I received the letter from them and I will let it go to 9 or 10 until I tell them they are taking the piss and i want a response. They are bound to have deadlines to have cases finalised by x

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 07/07/2016 19:20

What worry a is some of the other old threads from last year that I've read about people's money being stopped all because they haven't changed a name on a bill or hav certain post being delivered not in their name ect, I no i haven't don anything wrong but seems they will get people for the silliest things regardless of if they are innocent. It's all such a worry and feels like thers a shadow cast over me since all this. Think I read some were they hav to finish all cases by end of august

Allgoodnamesaretaken1 · 07/07/2016 19:36

That's what worries me too, they get paid on results apparently. So they don't care about messing up people's lives and making them wait months for a reply. I sent them proof I tried to get a virgin media account in my name but they emailed back saying the there was already an account at the address. It's a perfectly simple explanation yet they need a years worth of documents to make a decision. It doesn't really prove anything though because although the Virgin account is in ex's name, it's been paid from my bank account the entire time!

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 07/07/2016 20:02

This is it, there whole procedure is ridiculous. Why do they not just randomly visit people's houses to check if they live alone. Surely it's much quicker easier than all this drawn out crap that actually doesn't prove a thing

Lovelyname · 07/07/2016 20:59

I have been waiting 11 weeks now for a reply from them. I have rang so many times just to be told they have a backlog and not enough staff. I am not ringing them anymore as long as they dont stop my money!

user1467019044 · 07/07/2016 21:50

If they haven't made a decision before the end of this mth then what happens with r renewals?do they just continue on as they were for the previous award period?

Myusernameis2016 · 08/07/2016 11:11

I have been waiting 6 weeks an told about a backlog, yet when I spoke with a manager they told me that items are scanned into the system with days, so told me my item must be lost, are they saying ur documents haven't been scanned yet or that they just haven't made a decision yet?

Myusernameis2016 · 08/07/2016 11:13

I have had a provisional renewal through, so assume they will just go with that until all of this is sorted?

Allgoodnamesaretaken1 · 08/07/2016 11:46

My understanding is that documents are scanned within a few days and I think the place we send our stuff literally just scans the documents. Then once they're on the system, someone else looks at them and that's where the backlog is, getting them looked at.

Mumzyknowsbest · 12/07/2016 17:16

Well, my moneys been stopped Confused When i got the letter back in June, I had not long before that had a meeting with the compliance officer at the jobcentre (which was really weird since I only claim working tax/child tax and a tinsy bit of housing benefit). It was to do with my ex using my address for various things in the past. I'd already had this issue before and had asked him to change the address over to which I believed he had. (I don't get letters anymore). So I went to the first interview armed with evidence he'd given me, like his tenancy, utility bills etc and the officer closed the case immediately.

So when I got the concentrix letter, I was like oh I know what this is about, so just whacked all that info I'd shown the jbc in an envelope and sent it off. Fast forward to today and I get aletter saying my award has been amended (suspended) because I didn't reply to their first letter. I did, ok I didn't send all that info they asked for because I thought it could be nipped in the bud just like with the jbc. Also, I read one of these threads on here and saw that lots of people who knew what the situation was about, just addressed that issue with them and had their cases closed. Well nope, my money has been stopped :/ I didn't even get a request for more evidence, when it was all well in time before the deadline...

They said I have until the 31st july to get in all the info they requested the first time around - but my award is still going to be suspended until ... well look how long its taking for everyone else. A long azz time. I'm beside myself really. No clue how we are going to get through summer. I'm scraping together all I can right now.

My advise would definitely be to just send everything they ask. No beating around the bush. The lady on the phone said it isn't really about a person physically living with you but whether you are financially independent. I'd go even further to say, they just want people to slip up or give up.

user1465562572 · 12/07/2016 17:32

Hi guys
Some of you may have forgotton that I had my IUC yesterday , what a farce it was. Went with my legal advisor and was interviewed by a man and woman who tried to be my friend and was nicey nicey ! They said they have evidence that someone lives with me, I asked what evidence? And they failed to answer or show me any proof. So we went round in circles, and I'm not going to admit to someone living with me when they don't . All one said was we know someone's post goes to my address (yes, a deceased persons occasionally) These 2 ended up getting quite nasty because they were not getting the answers they wanted. It's all on tape, my legal advisor just laughed and said they have nothing on me and just clutching at straws. I told them they have made an error and to take me to court to prove I am living with someone, and they got a bit shifty in their seats. I also said that I will counter sue against the harassment of sending a woman round without making a legit appointment. My legal advisor also pointed out that they should reinstate my CTC as they seemingly have no evidence or at least no evidence I was able to give an explaination to. So as it stands one-nil against these muppets.
