A letter from HMRC or concentrix part 8

Have you received a letter from HMRC or Concentrix? This is part 8 now. Have you had the dreaded letter demandeing evidence you live alone? Hopefully we can support each other and try and make sense of it all.

I am still waiting to hear back, i have received my docs back and rang several times just to be told they have a back log and not enough staff! It has been 9 weeks now

Thank i probaly over think things .but to me unless they are watching a persons house 24hrs a day documents prove nothing . But im glad i found this thread im making myself ill over it as i earn peanuts in my job if they stop my credits it wont be worth working x

Wow 9 weeks is just taking the piss. Think I am going to wait until Friday and then ring cause I am not going to let this ruin the summer for my daughter because I am constantly worrying. If they can't give me an answer soon I will start putting complaints in complete joke. Shell I have been over thinking constantly and it is awful, starting to sleep a little better again and has made all the difference to helping me feel better x

I know some days i am really worried about it but them some days i think i dont care but it is always on my mind. I am still receiving payments

I received the dreaded letter beginning of june saying I have someone living with me,phoned them immediately said my ex had contract with O2 at my address,could not understand it at all as he has nvr lived at this address with us, told him that and said had no idea how this could b as no correspondence as evr arrived here for my ex and how was i to address this with them,he told me to just send in all the documents so they could check I was financially independent,also not to worry as they had sent out 25,000 letters the wk b4!!!!couldn't believe it, how they will evr get around to processing all these people is beyond me. Sent all my doc 2 wks ago as yet haven't received them back.
Have since discovered how my ex name ended up here, he had an existing contract with O2 which was signed over to me in Oct as I needed a phone and he had received a new mobile with work,anyway all details were changed to mine my address my bank details, due to ebilling no statements arrive here I get a txt msg every mth to say bill is ready. Have since learned that o2 nvr changed the name on the contract they kept my ex"s name on it with my address and bank details!! Couldn't believe a simple mistake by O2 has caused me all this stress and hassle! They will b able to c the dd coming out of my account every mth so it's not like my ex has been paying it for me, I am just hoping that it is clear to them that I am financially in dependant, my ex gives me maintenance as cash whenever he has it so there r no other links to him through my address or bank account. Still doesn't stop me worrying though after reading some of the horror stories on here,some days I am fine as how could they evr come to any other conclusion they have no evidence,but then u just think the worse case senario sometime,the waiting is ridiculous why send out so many letters when u have no chance of responding within the 15 working days time frame, absolutely ridiculous!

Hi all just phoned Concentric and asked for an update as I had received my documents back on the 13th. Spoke to a guy called Sean who checked the system and was only able to tell me that my stuff was scanned on and awaiting the analyse team to look at it. Said they have a big backlog and I should be hearing something in the next couple of weeks but couldn't tell me anything specific. Still no wiser and completely stressed out x

User146 when I tried to change the name on our sky when my ex left I was told that it is not possible to change the name on a credit agreement as the agreement is with that person only and a new agreement needs to be taken out with new person if that makes sense. This would be the same with phone companies. At least if you need to explain the phone this is the reason it is not in your name. I have only just been able to get my sky changed at the weekend to my name when I explained the situation to them and stated that would have to cut everything off as I could not have my ex's name associated with my address. They have now changed everything into a new agreement with me and terminated the account in ex's name. Try giving 02 a ring and explaining. Worth getting it sorted so as it doesn't raise any future problems. When my ex changed address on stuff a few weeks ago it showed change immediately on credit report which is we're they get their information x

Thanks loula yes I have also discovered that they will not change the name until the contract is up in Sept, they have changed the address back to my ex since its his name on the contract not mine,I will continue to pay it until Sept then get it changed into my name,so at least my ex name is now no longer at this address. That's good to know that it is updated on the credit file as well. Just can't believe something so small could flag up an investigation I have accessed my credit report and I have no financial associates so don't even know where they got the information, they must have ran a check on my ex name I didn't even know they could do that when it's not him they r investigating it's all so cloak and dagger!!
It's just so unbelievable that's this is allowed to go on the way they r treating people is ridiculous.
I don't work so get housing benefit and income support so if concentrix make any mistakes which they appear to do,I will have absolutely no money coming in how I am suppose to feed me and 2 children is beyond me!

Letters out but they dont have the staff to deal with it when it all comes back - the man i spoke to at concentrix told me that. So we just have to sit and worry until they can go through it. He told me they are just getting through all the phone calls and they don't have staff or time to deal with documents coming back! No idea how long it will take now

Exactly wow how will they evr get through it all,it's so unbelievable that this is allowed to go on and u just have to worry urself sick for wks mths on end,u wouldnt think this was something that is given the go ahead by the government,what a way to treat people.
I just rang them to make sure they have my doc they were received on 14th June according to royal mail but just wanted to make sure they r on the system, was met with r systems r down call back later,so can't even get that confirmed yet what hope is there!!

User146 I am in the same boat as you, receive housing benefit and income support so if they stop tax credits everything will stop. Wish they would just do home visit instead of this crap if they think u have a partner. When I phoned they told me the system was slow but I said I didn't mind waiting as I wanted to make sure they were scanned on. They got my documents on the 9th and I got them back 13th. The guy I spoke to was very nice but didn't sound like he had a clue what he was doing. I will be phoning back Friday if I have no word back as I am going to start insisting on answers. Can't continue living in this limbo. Will keep you all updated x

I know what u mean loula it's so hard to put it out if ur head, even when u know u r doing nothing wrong can't help but worry. I received my doc back 2day thank goodness they hadn't went missing so just have to play the waiting game now!

Does anyone know if they want an explanation for other credits into ur bank account?? Just looking over my statements didn't realise I made so many extra cash lodgement into my account last yr,combination of birthday xmas present money,some of my own money lodged back in as hadn't worked things out properly and had lifted out too much money to then cover bills,also there were a few bigger lodgement one 600,300 300 which were from my father, basically my mother passed away last yr and he gave us all r share of life insurance policies etc. Probably over thinking things as usual but do you think they will say I am not financially independent because of these additional lodgement? ? Freaking out again now wish this was all over

I had the same problem as I have an account that is in my maiden name and the only deposits that go into it are from my dad. My dad lives in England and I am in Northern Ireland so at Xmas and birthdays my dad puts money in for me and my daughter and sometimes out of the blue he just gives me money to help out. I wrote a cover letter for this account explaining as my dad's name was on deposits so sent birth certificate also. Any other deposits I thought they would querie I highlighted on statement with a brief explanation beside. Maybe wrong to do this but could not go through more info being requested and having waiting time extended. It's awful how you over think everything and drive yourself crazy.

I know that's exactly how I am, fine sometimes then in meltdown at other times. Don't c how they can use that as evidence though as they r cash lodgement they arnt bank transfers from my ex,how can they try and say it is money from him when it's not??
I am sure there r plenty of people who have extra lodgements into their account due to having to borrow etc when times r bad.Who knows what they will make of it,it's all so stressful

Loula I nvr gave them any other information other than what they asked for,hadn't even explained the O2 mix up as couldn't explain it at the time,now I am looking at these bank statements and thinking there is more I will probably have to explain.
Wishing now I had have gave more of an explanation but they don't even ask u for that just all the usual doc etc which for me doesnt even address the O2 mix up!!
Gonna try and get back in my positive mood again my poor kids r suffering cause I am just not my happy self feel so sorry for them

User146 I have read this thread from part 1 when it started 2015 and there is no consistency with anybody's cases or circumstances. Some people didn't send anything extra or explain and were fine and others do. I maybe have done the wrong thing by offering explanations but felt I needed to. I think it just depends on who looks at your documents and what mood they are in or what pressure they are under to deal with it and close it. Hate not knowing what's happening as I am a bit ocd and hate not being in control lol. Going to try and stop the over thinking for a few days because as you say it's the kids that are picking up on our moods and its not fair on them.

Exactly loula,makes u wonder how they can assess anyone's info correctly as they r in no doubt under enormous pressure with the workload ,how they even have the time to scrutinise a yrs worth of bank statements is beyond me, I am just hoping that the fact that everything is in my name including tenancy agreement and all bills including o2 r paid by me is enough to satisfy them x

I personally think they just hope they have people own up under the stress of it.

Well my letter said I would hear 15 working days after they received my stuff. I haven't had anything done but then it turned into a 'hunt' trying to scare monger me- yes I've been very emotional over it but if they have sent out 25000 letters, and don't have the staff then I don't expect mine to be resolved for weeks/months, but I've been stalked by a mysterious Concentrix woman plus tried to scare me with an IUC. I've done nothing wrong but they must see me as an easy target. I have complained to hmrc and sent a letter I'm about to send Concentrix a letter saying where's my stuff as promised within 15 working days.

I'm worrying about the summer holidays - it being spoilt for my kids.

As a side note for anyone, the end of October last year IS write to me asking for bank statements, I sent them off straight away. One month later received a letter saying they hadn't received them, wrote back saying when/where they had been sent from. Anyway, I kid you not, they wrote back in April sending back my statements with a 'with compliments ' note. So 6 months it took for them to write back. Six months of worry - and now Conventrix have started!

user1465562572 sounds like they are coming at you every way possible, hope u r getting support and help from CAB and solicitor. Can't imagine what u are going through, must be so hard holding it together. Having read Morgans story from start to finish it is possible to come through this just keep fighting x

Hi user,sorry to read about what you're going through. It may help if you can find time to read through all the letter from concentrix threads from the start until now. From what I can remember nearly all of us got our money reinstated in the end. It's just a bloody waiting game now. Good luck x x x x

Hi when phoning Concentrix can anyone advise what the best extension to select is, options are 1 to 5. I pressed 5 yesterday when I phoned and the guy I got was very nice but absolutely clueless to what he was doing. Would like to get through to someone that would maybe be able to review and make a decision on the phone x
