Mum dad I think you have to push to speak to a manager . Some have been told that then rang back and got to speak to a manager who closed the case. It's a joke ring Hmrc complaints in Preston they have to give you an answer and will liaise with Concentrix

hi im in exactly same boat..waited 1 1/2 hrs on phone.was told that everything looked ok and she would send it for reviewing bit quicker because of this..This was a week ago now,my 8th week.I made myself ill at 1st but from reading comments here have realised that its not personal, thousands of us have randomly received letters and tha they dont have a clue what they are doing so it could be ages..try not to worry too much we are all here to help x

Scousejo1967 · 27/07/2015 11:23

Hi everyone I recieved a letter asking for my husbands income amd wage slips and our bank statements..We sent everything last month and still not heard anything as of yet..I started uni and my family loaned me money to pay for my fees which was a direct debit set up every month direct to the university..I know they look through our statements and o know they will pull me up on this but I asked hmrc before I started the course and they said I don't need to tell them about education..It was cheaper to get a loan from famiky then from the bank with crazy interest rates..After reading this thread it seems they are very hard to get in touch with..really worried they will make this long and stop my payments.just want to qualify amd get a job so o don't need hmrc anymore but it seems that they are going to make life difficult

GrumbleAboutThings · 27/07/2015 12:00

Well I'm on the phone now to them waiting, as I need to ask why they sent me a second letter, the exact same letter they sent to me in May asking for the exact same documents for the exact same time period. The documents they have just returned to me last week via recorded delivery thanking me for supplying...

Said 20 min wait and it's been 20 mins now on hold.

Scousejo1967 · 27/07/2015 12:17

Good luck grumble ask then to do you're check on the phone x

GrumbleAboutThings · 27/07/2015 12:19

Thanks Scouse. Still waiting. 40 minutes now.

Scousejo1967 · 27/07/2015 12:25

Keep us posted x

GrumbleAboutThings · 27/07/2015 12:32

Satisfied I provided enough info, she told me to ignore the 2nd letter they sent and she is closing my case as soon as we get off the phone as they've completed the checks, she said she'll be sending me out a letter to confirm.

All done and dusted. I hope.

leppi · 27/07/2015 12:46

Yes, still getting child tax, just not working tax. Done nothing but complain & they stull male you feel like the guilty party.. They HATE accepting responsibility!

leppi · 27/07/2015 12:48

Our check was on hours worked/wages aswell

Scousejo1967 · 27/07/2015 13:09

Fab news grumble just shows you thou mum dad you got told they can't close on phone? They have not got a clue

mumdad5 · 27/07/2015 13:40

I know they change what they say all the time ive been told twice now they dont close over phone n now that they havent even assigned a case worker did feel like he just wasnt interested at all in what i was saying do you complain to hmrc through their helpline number ?

Scousejo1967 · 27/07/2015 14:11

Preston office is for complaints just ask for complaints department they have a complaints procedure they have to follow

GrumbleAboutThings · 27/07/2015 15:44

Well I'm not counting my chickens just yet, seeing the messages on here where people were told the case was closed over the phone only for it not to be. I'll await the letter before being certain. I did make her say it a few times though just to be sure and I have the date/time logged for when I called just in case.

leppi · 27/07/2015 16:45

They're upto 24th atm. Just rung them to be told that the changes that should have gone on system can't until Saturday when my new contract starts, so I have to ring AGAIN... What a polava!!!

Dollygem · 27/07/2015 19:14

Rang them Saturday and system was down surprise surprise! Asked me what date my docs were signed for, I told them the 15th June and she put me on hold and said they will be on the system by now, I said I rang Wednesday and they weren't then even though they said they had scanned up until the 19th of June by then! She said no they will be on the system for sure now, I'm now on hold to them to see if they are, I will be so mad if not! Wasn't going to ring again I was just going to wait to hear from them but feel like my whole life is on hold! Driving me mad

Morgan97 · 27/07/2015 21:22

Dollygem how did you get on did they tell you anything? I know what you mean about your life being on hold. It's the not knowing that makes you mad isn't it. I'm pretty sure they don't have a clue what they're doing half the time. Thankfully my outcome was good but it took three months of letters and phonecalls in my case.

Dollygem · 27/07/2015 22:27

I finally got through after an hour and 3 minutes plus it was ten past eight which I'm sure they close at eight! Anyway he said my docs were on the system and we're now in the que for the decision team but then he went on to say he would look at it as he was on till ten and hopefully get a letter out to me within the next few days which I'm hoping is good news, I think they are going to take my wtc off me because of the few weeks I have been ill but now I'm back hopefully on the mend and medication has hopefully kicked in I'm back to working as normal which is anywhere between 16-24 hours a week so if they take it off me I've then got to go through it all again to try and re claim! I have spoke to hmrc and they said although I earnt £263 less than I should last year I should be ok as my boss has said in her letter that my usual hours are at least 16 hours and it's only because of ill Heath that it's been affected. I just don't know who to listen too anymore

twinklefrog · 27/07/2015 22:38

I am having an absolute nightmare. They have stopped the childcare element of my tax credits from the 27th May.
I returned documents which were signed for on 19th June.
I have rung twice a week for the last two weeks for an update.
To finally have someone call me back today after telling me all the 19th docs would be finished being scanned on Friday at 5pm, mine haven't :(
It has been escalated to a team leader and apparently they have to now go to the scanning company to find out where my documents have gone because they have signed for it and have the tracking number stored so they were there.
Stressing out so much, anyone had their docs go awol?
The guy that rang me today was so vague and couldn't tell me how long it would take for team leader to get back to me or what would happen next :(

Morgan97 · 28/07/2015 08:15

Dolly did you explain to them you've been off work sick? I'm sure it will be ok you say you work between 16 and 24 hours a week so I think it may even itself out if you get what I mean. Twinklefrog,I think there was a few who sent their documents then they went missing have a read through past posts as I'm sure it came good in the end. They haven't a clue what they're doing half the time. Be sure to get the name of the person you're speaking to as well.

Scousejo1967 · 28/07/2015 08:45

Twinkle ring Hmrc complaints Preston they will liaise with them if you put in a formal complaint.t friends docs went missing and she had to send them again which she was compensated for bit it's time isn't it ... Mine went missing but it was Royal Mail. Mines been ongoing since 4 th May my secknd set of docs were signed for June 22 Nd so by the looks of it they might have finally been scanned but god knows how long to lol at them now
