Well I received a letter from conentrix to call them on the 3rd of July I have rang every day and have been on hold for approximately 1hour and 2 mins each time, this is frustrating but what's worse is that when I call tax credits I'm through within 5mins and I am told they can not deal with me because concentrixs are an independent company working on there behalf, so basically hmrc have off loaded there work to another company who are now inundated with work who you can't get hold of for an answer.

babyalan13 · 15/07/2015 07:42

Morgan!!!!! Delighted for you. So pleased to hear its finally over you. :) you must be over the moon. Get yourself a wee treat!!

Morgan97 · 15/07/2015 07:57

Babyalan thank you,it's been a long long wait and now it's over I've checked my bank and OMG I'm so pleased I didn't give up. To everyone who is ringing and panicking it makes no difference if you ring or not, you're on hold then you get cut off. Yes it's the not knowing that's the worse. Get letters of complaint written and sent. If you do get through take a note of the person you're talking to and if you write to them try and send it recorded delivery then you will have a record of it. Good luck and DON'T give up x x x

Rang tax credits again this morning still no payment schedule in place. Im really panicking now

Morgan97 · 15/07/2015 08:50

Shellda please try not to panic,if you've sent all they've asked for you should be ok. They don't rush themselves and they have a huge backlog to wade through. If you know when your next payment is due then try n wait n see if it goes in as normal. I know the waiting n not knowing is hard i waiting 15 weeks for them to pull their finger out.

nadiwombat1970 · 15/07/2015 12:50

Hello there,
I am new to this but am losing sleep so need to share and get some advice.

I have rcvd a letter from Concentrix saying that they think my childcare claim is incorrect for the yr 14/15.

They are correct, I have claimed incorrectly for my eldest ds, this was not intentional. My eldest started secondary school in Sep 13 and as I didn't want him coming home to an empty house and spending 3hrs alone, I arranged for him to go straight to the after school club that he had been using in Primary School and my youngest was still attending. Fine, by April 14 I got him a key for the house. My brother came to live with me and my boys for a few months and this helped with the dilemma of him being home alone.
I did not inform HMRC of this change. I completed by renewal in Jun/Jul 14, by this time I was suffering with stress and signed off work and was applying for a new job. To be honest I just filled in the form and kept everything as is (2 childcare claims) I thought this was ok because the kids usually go to Summer Club in the holidays so I would be paying out for that.
They did not attend summer club Aug14 because I was so stressed out, my brother and mom stepped in to help me out and I had started my new job. In Sep 14 I started my eldest in a new out of school club (OFSTED) and he attended for 6mths the payments were basically the same as I had been claiming for previously. I meant to update HMRC but forgot.
I had lots of problems with my eldest at school both 1st and 2nd yr of secondary and to be honest tax credits were east of my worries and if I am honest money is tight.

So I was claiming for 2 children to attend after school club but only 1 child has attended that club. My eldest attended a club for 6mths during the claim year, but I did not tell HMRC of the change.

The first after school club are sorting out a statement for me, it's difficult though as they don't do direct debit and its all been cash payments, but she said she can provide me with it.
I paid for the other club via a direct debit so I think they should be able to provide me with a statement for the monies they rcvd.

I am really really annoyed with myself for letting this happen and not being on top of this. Its hard being a single mom with 2 x ds. You wanna run away sometimes!
I've allowed myself to get used to that money and really that's why I suppose I haven't kept up to date.

The renewal came through and I have completed it online and still not updated!! This is wilful neglect and I know I will have to suffer the consequenses there.

Not sure if anyone out there has any words of wisdom/advice/experience with being such a jerk?

thanks

I think you are just going to have to own up and tell them the truth. If you do this now then Maybe there will be less repercussions for you! Sort it outand set up a repayment plan.

Mel25murf · 15/07/2015 13:43

I have had a variation in my payment this week but no award notice, but I assume this means that my renewal has been completed and should get the award notice shortly.

jemanewman · 15/07/2015 14:07

I don't want everyone to fall of their chairs but i just called Concentrix and got through in 33 minutes!! this has to be a record!

MamaK15 · 15/07/2015 14:14

Nadiwombat... Just write everything down when the changes occurred etc and how much you've paid out. I expect you will owe money back. I think your award will be amended and they will take it off this coming years award x

I think you need to put a covering letter together for Concentrix explaining the situation to them. Better to be honest with them. What is the overpayment likely to be?

I was also in the same boat regarding not updating with a change of circumstance (working hours). I called HMRC myself to tell them I had noticed an error on the renewal form this year and then shortly after (and as expected) received a letter from Concentrix. I sent a letter in with all the documents I had to explain what had happened. I think my overpayment will be about £3 to £4k.

My letter and docs to Concentrix were signed for 12th June so I guess it will be on the system now and being looked at but no outcome yet. It is quite scary to do this but I felt it would be far worse to try and wiggle round it.

I did speak to a lawyer who said that he felt that I wasn't being wilfully deceitful for financial gain and that this was more a mistake amidst some difficult personal circumstances. He said it was very helpful that I had called them and advised them of the mistake first and suggested being honest in a letter to support what I had done. He felt that a prosecution would be very unlikely but this doesn't stop my brain from worrying about it. I didn't have all the documents they requested so am also a bit concerned that they will stop payments.

MeL could be a few weeks to get your award notice through my renewal was completed and finalised on 2nd of July and I haven't had my award through the post yet, I know it's done as they have confirmed it on the phone with me just seems to be a very slow postal service!

MamaK15 · 15/07/2015 14:46

I've just received my no change letter. It's nice to see it in black and white !

shazzarooney99 · 15/07/2015 14:57

Are they really behind? i got my paperwork back, got a tax rebate and have not heard anything since.

12fedup12 · 15/07/2015 14:57

Mama thats the best letter when it's finally on your hands. your award notice could take a few more weeks my case was closed two weeks ago today and hmrc finalised my award on the 2nd of July and still hasn't arrived yet

Singlemum123 · 15/07/2015 15:13

Hello, everyone, rang HMRC on Monday told my payment schedule and today rang concentric chasing up my docs. Double confirmed my case is closed.

I would like to let everyone know when I had my initial letter accusing me living with another adult, I DID NOT send everything because I considered they are too intrusive. Besides, like credit cards bills, I discarded after I pay them.

However I sent them my 12 months bank statements and gas, electric, phone/TV, water and council tax bills, all in my own name ONLY.

I believe that if u show u pay all ur bills that's enough to prove u r living on ur own. Hope it helps and all comes out positively for everyone xx

shellda28 · 15/07/2015 15:25

Rang HMRC this afternoon everything finally sorted!! Payments all sorted at last x

Lolo1602 · 15/07/2015 15:49
