It just gets more and more disingenuous - that does not sound like something a friend should do to another friend. When will these FLbots just stop and think for themselves for a moment: am I being a twat? Angry

Hoppinggreen · 15/07/2015 13:52

I would go and make notes on what she said and then deliver a devastatingly "constructive" critique of everything from the tone of her voice to her shoes.
But then I'm evil like that

I actually wouldn't I've got better things to do with my time - very sneaky though ( and desperate)

Peacheykeen · 15/07/2015 15:47

Update bot has had a bonus today and apparently put a huge lump sum in her dc's Isa accounts. Paid off her credit card and her life insurance and had loads left over for summer activities with DC's. "I've worked so hard , no other jobs have ever treated me like this" ( as I keep saying in earlier posts she has only ever had one job before) lots of people congratulating her for working so hard. I wouldn't call if working hard ag all I would call her a disingenuous con merchant .

Eyespying · 15/07/2015 16:03

MarthasHarbour Fair comment, but my point was how widespread this type of deceptive tactic has been in 'MLM' rackets.

Gung-ho 'MLM' recruiters will go to almost any lengths to recruit. I've encountered people who had been tricked into positions of obligation to 'MLM 'recruiters via devious tactics which are almost impossible to believe.

One British MLM recruiter was borrowing money to re-lend to his recruits in order to get them to join. Another former 'MLM' recruit, was certain that the neighbour who recruited him, sabotaged his car just so that he could offer him a lift. He was then presented the 'opportunity' in a position of obligation from which he couldn't escape.

tribpot · 15/07/2015 16:33

I thought they weren't working hard, Peachey, but instead getting trolleyed in the garden, laptop on knee. Rather spoils the image if this isn't a piece of piss you can fit in around the school run and hanging the washing out (two things I fitted in to my working day today, the latter being done whilst on a conference call).

lastuseraccount123 · 15/07/2015 17:01

talc that's a Mary Kay tactic. they pretend they just want to practice their presentation with you, but really it's just another opportunity to pressure you into buying/joining their 'team'/ etc. in other words, it's just more MLM bs.

i may have mentioned it before but the blog The Pink Truth goes into MK tactics, many of which are used by other MLMs.

lastuseraccount123 · 15/07/2015 17:02

thought MK is a whole other world of crazy because it includes God & religion in the bs.

lastuseraccount123 · 15/07/2015 17:18

wow, my bot is on a tear today.

highlights:

Glad I can be my own boss....wouldn't want to feel like this!!!
Most people would love to decide the hours they work but most people are really not sure how network marketing works so if your even slightly interested then please drop me a message!!!

Super chuffed to have my old school friend [name] on the team....Exciting times ahead!! Can't wait to help you build your business

then another "lifestyle" post with a shot of FL honey as part of her healthy breakfast.

Peacheykeen · 15/07/2015 17:35

That's a good point tribpot she gives the impression she's a lady of leisure and then gives another impression that she works harder than anybody else in the world. I wouldn't call suckering people into a cult working hard.

Eyespying · 15/07/2015 17:42

lastuseraccount123 - The higher you climb in the pyramid of initiation in many 'MLMs,' the more directly 'religious' the indoctrination becomes.

Many 'MLMs' are 'Mormon,' but 'Amway' was founded by 'Dutch Pentacostalists' and has been lnked to the 'Assemblies of God'. The bosses of 'Amway' have financed (amongst other things) a 'Creationist Research Center.'

creationwiki.org/Van_Andel_Creation_Research_Center

Various 'Amway Diamonds' have even made claims to be in direct communication with God, but only to high level initiates.

One 'Amway' spin-off, 'Le Groupement,' that operated in France in the 1990s, was selling overpriced tickets via its own travel agency to fly to Phoenix Arizona, where the most-obedient initiates got full immersion baptism into 'The First Assembly of God.' They were instructed not to divulge to their 'downlines' what had really happened.

'Le Groupement' was infiltrated by French investigative journalists who filmed baptisms and prayer sessions with hidden cameras. The boss of 'Le Groupement' was later confronted by all this in an interview, but he simply denied that any of it was true.

I believe there still an outstanding international arrest warrant for the erstwhile boss of 'le Groupement,' Jean Godzich.

In 2010, Jean Godzich was finally convicted (in absentia) by a French court of stealing Euros 6 millions. His brother was a 'Pastor' for the 'Assemblies of God'

Peacheykeen · 15/07/2015 17:42

Lol lastuser my FLbot is flogging the honey too. "You are what you eat" would rather spend a couple of quid on Rowse than their overpriced shit . Since when has aloe Vera and honey been affiliated lol

cuphat · 15/07/2015 18:47

I've found this thread very interesting as someone I know has got sucked into this (an old friend, not a close one). They've tried to recruit me a couple of times (both times just after I'd had a baby). I've made it clear that I'm not interested, and that I'm not interested in earning extra money full stop. They then asked me just to watch a video. I said I wasn't interested. So they've added me to a secret group on fb Angry . Nothing exciting, basically people showing off their amazing lifestyles.

lastuseraccount123 · 15/07/2015 19:57

cuphat that's the "80% lifestyle, 20% FL" rule they have for FB propaganda. You're supposed to be so jelly and curious about how amazing their lives are that you want to become an FLbot too. #foreverfamily

Does anyone have any idea of the retention rate for distributors?
There must be lots of ex fl distributors?

I'm not on fb. I'd love to go to a presentation. I'm trying to get dd18 to come with me.

I've read the nam thread and it is awful; so many in their first few weeks. One or two v honest.

Could someone please repost eye's website?

(I have bought six aloe Vera plants for birthday presents. I'm undermining fl by spreading the Vera)

cuphat · 15/07/2015 20:55

Thanks eyespying, I'll have a look at those when I get the chance.

It doesn't work on me, lastuser. I feel insulted that they think I could fall for it.

Eyespying · 15/07/2015 21:04

fishboneschokus

The annual drop-out rate for 'FLP' (i.e. the percentage of adherents who fail to renew their annual 'distributor contracts' and vanish to be replaced by another deluded intake of would-be millionaires) is no different to any other 'MLM' racket.

Latest figures reveal that 'Herbalife' has been churning up to 90% of its claimed '3 millions members' annually, but reporting its membership as though it's been increasing.

However, the overall retention rate for 'MLMs' (i.e the percentage of adherents who manage to remain onboard for more than 5 years) is effectively zero.

Eventually, every so-called 'MLM business owner' has jumped ship leaving their cash behind. Only the wealthy 'MLM' instigators, and their criminal associates, sail on.

We are talking about countless millions of individuals who have been churned through 'MLM' rackets around the world during the past 60+ years.

Ms FLbot would like everyone to know that she's " excited for managers academy" complete with cheesy grin selfie and a face full of the Sonya range slap. It's creepy how they've all got that wide grins and manic glint in their eye.

MarthasHarbour · 16/07/2015 10:34

peachy is this 'managers academy' something for us all to look forward to I wonder. Like 'success day'. Grin

lazycoo · 16/07/2015 10:49

YES marthas! You can't work from the garden because of glare! Plus it's not comfortable! That's why 'desks' and 'offices' were invented. Twats.

Hoppinggreen · 16/07/2015 11:20

I have my own business and I have never worked from my garden, I have no desire to. My garden is for me to chill out in, preferably while drinking wine.
My poor laptop is confined to indoors

tribpot · 16/07/2015 11:24

Actually staying active is important for people who work from home - I do a FitBit challenge and might start a group for my fellow home workers to make sure we're all getting up and about regularly, no feet up in garden necking vino for us! I can't remember if I posted this on the last thread, the reality of home working, could be amusing to bait some of the bots with.

Managers' Academy sounds great, although as they are all doing so fantastically well it's hard to imagine what they can learn from it? There can't be any managers who aren't doing well because the recipe for success is foolproof.

Peacheykeen · 16/07/2015 12:13

I wonder how much she had to pay to attend this " managers academy" I can't help but think of the police academy films when I imagine what she's up to at this FL thingy
