Recently an acquaintance emailed me to ask if I could 'help' her by trying a few products and giving her some feedback. Being the nice person I am I agreed. When the bag of samples turned up the penny dropped and i realised that she's trying to sell them to me (I'm naive I know!). I thought id just buy a little bubble bath. Its fucking 14 quid! No way. I'm sending the bag back and pleading eczema. Does this whole company operate by guilting friends and family into purchasing crap quality at ridic prices?

One of my FL friends has just posted that she has spent the day at a 'dynamite masterclass'. I'm assuming the children that she loves spending all her time with were not in attendance.

Peacheykeen · 07/06/2015 19:14

Lol tire my FL girl is out most weeknights and weekends with the FL "huns" either recruiting or helping a team members launch party or seem to be constantly drinking wine in the pub with some naff picture of her team #typicalnightintheoffice#lovemyjob.

Loval · 07/06/2015 19:53

One of mine was in her pjs (they are more obsessed with pyjamas than they are with bastard aloe) at 8.30 pm last Monday doing an hour of online training with 249 others.
Makes me glad to do 9-5 !

Peacheykeen · 07/06/2015 20:05

Yes Local I have seen craps like"that's the beauty of my job I can work in my pj's with a glass of vino" they all seem to say the same craps the constant inspirational posts give me the creeps.

Peacheykeen · 07/06/2015 20:06

Loval rather

Sandpipernest · 07/06/2015 22:05

It's a bit of a con the selling too. You have to spend £50 minimum order as a seller to sell on. Except, of course, they don't tell you that until you sign up and fork out the £200 .

trinitybleu · 07/06/2015 22:36

I'm a Younique "bot" Smile No motivational quotes, no working in my pj's, no spider lashes Grin Grin ... just me getting my mascara half price or less Smile and not looking to give up my proper job

Anyway, my FL friend blocked me (before I joined Younique) ... not sure she's got the hang of it!

Allswellhere · 07/06/2015 23:35

I know a woman who does FL. As pp's have said lots of the inspirational stuff, hashtagging like mad. I don't like the guilt tripping of working mums, and despite all the claims about the money she is (or is going to be) making, in RL she's struggling and on occasion needs to use a foodbank. It's very sad as it's like she has to keep up this facade of being a 'business woman' so can't be honest and ask for help. It's a shame as she is a really nice person but FL has definitely got a weird cultish aspect to it.

Hoppinggreen · 08/06/2015 10:56

According to my FL FB friend
" Today is the start of a new week" - wow who knew???

MI5agent · 08/06/2015 11:33

According to my FL friend:
"Every new day is a chance to change your life"

Well no shit Sherlock. I'm blown away by that quote Hmm

NorbertDentressangle · 08/06/2015 11:54

Today's inspirational quote here is "I can be all I want to be and so much more".

Is Monday "FL Inspirational quote day"?

Then perhaps Tuesday is "#hashtag day", Wednesday is "mention a white Range Rover day", Thursday is "#todaysoffice" day accompanied by photo of laptop next to a Costa coffee/glass of wine/background of garden etc and so on.

Hmmmm....#wecanseerightthroughyou Wink

MissBattleaxe · 08/06/2015 12:05

According to my FL FB friend " Today is the start of a new week" - wow who knew???

That really made me chuckle. Like only FL trained people know what Monday is!

Minifingers9 · 08/06/2015 12:26

I have a friend who did FL for about 6 months.

She then did CleanEazy for 6 months.

Both experiences accompanied by all the FB bollox detailed on this thread - pictures of her drinking with her FL 'friends', motivational quotes etc.

I suspect that there's a personality flaw in the sort of people who swallow the FL - and that is that the are capable of incredible self-deception.

My friend, of all the people I know, is the least likely person to be able to be talked out of unwise choices. In the time I've known she has made so many choices that are clearly awful - the chief one being to continue to stay in her marriage and support her financially and emotionally controlling and abusive DH, whose behaviour has driven her into bankruptcy and been part of her motivation in fraudulent benefit claims.

She's a bright, well qualified professional woman (now she's given up all the MLM crap she's gone back into public sector management), but is so self-deceiving it's scary. Watching her life is like watching a car crash - you can see the next disaster looming, but you have to stand by and watch her talk herself into it.

MissBattleaxe · 08/06/2015 13:55

My FB friend always posts photos of her laptop in scenic places. It gets out more than I do!

Chchchchanging · 08/06/2015 14:05

My friend does fl
She's told the fb world how she's quit her day job because fl is so great for a work life balance
Except I know she got made redundant
And to make any money at fl you basically put as many hrs in as for a std job....

MissBattleaxe · 08/06/2015 15:46

Personally I just don't understand how there seem to be more FL reps than there are products. In real life I only know one person who uses them. I know you have to pay to be a rep i.e buy a kit, so that must be the "sales" figures.

SymphonyofShadows · 08/06/2015 15:56

Was is it they actually do on their laptops all day? Spam their FB friends?

Hoppinggreen · 08/06/2015 16:06

Ooh, I've just had the photo of " the view from my office" aka her garden.

MerdeAlor · 08/06/2015 16:15

I knew an elderly couple who bought FL products. They were in fragile health and had learning difficulties. The FLbot had total control, selling them this so called magic formula. They had to spend £100s each time she visited as she said they couldn't stop using it and she had to make their order worth her while.
I remember being Hmm hearing them talking about her, but they were totally sold on it.

MissBattleaxe · 08/06/2015 16:43

Symphony- I wondered that too. What is their actual "job"?

CattyCatCat · 08/06/2015 17:16

My FL friend has not posted anything motivational at all for a few days now. I am not impressed.

Ginormarse · 08/06/2015 17:40

This is the thread for me! I have a secret obsession of reading my fb friends status updates about her wonderful lifestyle working for FL. The 5 star all expenses paid holidays, the fancy car, the shopping trips, the social life, the freedom of working for yourself and being your own boss. All on the back of selling a bit of Aloe Vera and meeting for lunch /coffee with like minded individuals. What's not to like?
I wonder if the bubble will finally burst and the whole company will go tits up. Surely there is a finite number of people who can be taken in by this scam.
They attempted to entice me and told me I could give up my career and work from home and spend more quality time with my kids. I am a GP and have worked bloody hard to achieve my career, why on earth do they think I would want to give it up?? I work part-time, admittedly I do have to miss school events and send my youngest 2 to nursery. I bet I work fewer hours than those who claim to make a decent living with FL. They seem to often spend weekends attending "success days" or training events and evenings spent on the lap top for hours. Who's looking after your bloody kids then??? I bet my bottom dollar that the "success days" are not free to attend and nor are the numerous training days.
They are also all obsessed with taking endless selfies. Give it a rest! (Well actually don't because then I wouldn't be able to continue my weird obsession with reading your statuses)

PennyPinkleton · 08/06/2015 17:52

My Younique friend has handed in her notice at her "normal" job. Everyone is congratulating her for sticking it to the man and all that, but I am tempted to ask if she gave her notice in such a way that she could take it back when it all goes tits up in the over-priced make-up world #yougogirl #nextKarenBrady

Loval · 08/06/2015 18:01

One of the things they do on their laptop all day is go through each other's contact lists to find more unsuspecting friends and family to harass to sign up to sell it. Angry
The money doesn't come so much from their profit on the products, it comes from signing up others.

The one of my FB friends who is some sort of 'manager' has just announced that so and so has been promoted! #flyingtofinancialfreedom . Promoted to 'Assistant Supervisor'. WTF? I don't understand how you can be promoted to anything, let alone an 'assistant', when it's allegedly your own business.

What a crock of shite it is.
