Halo someone definitely needs to contacted,at the start of feb I emailed every newspaper, news channel, every mp that was local and nothing cept my own mp got tax credits to send me a mandatory reconsideration form. Our lives are being turned upside down by the press of a button. They demand stuff by certain dates yet no reply from the five letters I've sent them n I know they've got them n that know I know they've got them cos I've told them! They're rude and ignorant

halo55 thank you ever so much for that............

im just trying to word a letter to them about the car do you think its ok or have i worded it incorectly. this is what i put.... Further to our conversation i have just clicked and put 2 and 2 together,Since Jan i have had letters sent to my address in the name of R Lewis i have RTS and kept a note of when the letter arrives and were possable have called the companies directly to notify them of address fraud for them to take action. It was not till last night while i was looking for documents i found the recipt from the car i brought in Jan and the person is named as R.Lewis! So was wondering if that could be connected to your "evidence" If so can you let me know of what steps to take so that name is taken off my address as we are no way connected. As all i done was buy a car for sale.

But now im stuck do you think that will be ok for me to send them?

halo55 · 29/05/2015 15:29

Izzy, if you think r lewis has been using your address, first i would contact action fraud line, they are very helpful and they give you a crime no, that you could add to your letter, or at least say that you are currently dealing with action fraud about your car purchase and the previous owner. gives your letter a bit more clout. Secondly i went on my experian and it shows financial associations, on each name it had "delete financial association " maybe worth looking. In my case i could not delete the name as it was ex husband. But do contact action fraud

Hi Iv been following this post since I recieved my horrid letter and have been so depressed since receiving it I posted all the documents back recorded delivery they required 12 month bank statements all wage slips and all time sheets my issue was different from a lot of what I have read as I'm married and ours is a joint claim and I have 3 children always worked and never had anything like this what I get a week isn't a lot but what I do get pays towards my youngest sons private therapy lessons what I was so upset of was they was making us out to be criminals and how they have treated most of u on here is apawling leaving single mothers with nothing it makes my blood boil when there's people who claim anything they can get and don't ever get questions off them anyway Iv contacted them today as I wasn't happy sending my bank statements to them the nosey sods and they reckon they have closed the case as its fine meanin they have wrongly accused me of somthing its discusting and I feel for u all going through this hell

izzy76 · 29/05/2015 16:07

halo55 Thank you is this them www.actionfraud.police.uk/

i checked experian a few months ago and found out someone had took 2 loans out back in the 90s in my name but at a differant addy but when i queried it they said there was nowt they can do apart from put a note to say its disbuted (that was when i had my driving licence stolen) now this has happened.I canceled experian as it was crap so i cant go back there as they will charge me £15.99 so i cant even check if r lewis has tried using this address :( i only brought this dam car for my 16 year old to do up for banger racing i really do feel angry and sick with all this worry :( my kids are unhappy to as i keep snapping at them and its not there fault i feel a failer :(

Morgan97 · 29/05/2015 16:30

Izzy you're not a failure,we all feel like this at some point but we HAVEN'T failed the system has failed us. They're getting away with bullying single parents to line their own pockets. I often feel like giving up,leaving work etc but why should I lower my standards I won't give up

LotusLight · 29/05/2015 16:30

Sadly it is very common for normal tax payers like I am to have these intrusive HMRC questions and wanting bank statements and the like. As I said above over the years I've had 2 VAT inspections, 2 inspections into nanny tax and one (more a query than an investigation) into inheritance tax - all found no problem but in just about all cases about 6 - 8 weeks before any reply from HMRC even though I would reply within a day of any letter and all requiring absolutely hours and hours of time which is very hard as a full time working mother of as I was then small children - you get back from work to a baby needing to bed and an evening of child care and don't have 2 hours to find documents for HMRC on their usual fishing expeditions.

There is no fairness about it - they reply so so slowly and they never thank you or appreciate that you pay their wages through your high taxes. It seems C operate in the same way. They obviously have the HMRC how to drag things out over months and months handbook on this one.

izzy76 · 29/05/2015 17:28

I have noticed that most you ladies work,I dont work i am disabled and claiming esa im now thinking i may not be entitled to tax credits and if that is the case then i am truly screwed, I only claimed it as was told i was ment to be getting them (from the law center)
btw i am sorry about my spelling i aint to clever :/

halo55 · 29/05/2015 17:45

Izzy, yes that is action fraud website, they helped me a lot , also ring DVLA and explain and your not failing as morgan said! I currently dont work either. I dont think it matters what the circumstances are and lets face it the majority of us have done nothing wrong in claiming, they are throwing a net out to sea and hoping they catch something....all be it at our expense!

Morgan97 · 29/05/2015 18:36

Agree with you there halo,it's like they're playing some sort of game to see who breaks first. NONE of us are failures we have been failed by the system. They don't care about the consequences of their actions one bit. I'm sick to death of worrying day and night, choosing between what I can afford and what I can't it's just not fair

OP posts:
Morgan97 · 29/05/2015 18:39

And izzy no body minds who can n can't spell hun,we all here to support each other through this desperate time so don't worry about any spelling mistakes. We're all in the same boat one way or another and I think we're all here to rant and rave when it gets too tough.

Morgan97 · 29/05/2015 18:41

And Lotus, yes don't they drag their feet, quick nough to make their demands and give us deadlines. I got my first letter this year on 8th feb,I returned all hey asked for two days later and they stopped my money without even telling me!!

OP posts:
Kittykat60 · 29/05/2015 21:48

If they stop your money how long does it take them? My deadline was last Wednesday just wondering if I ll get next weeks money. I feel constantly ill and stressed!.

Morgan97 · 29/05/2015 21:58

With me KiityKat it was nearly six weeks after I first sent my evidence that they stopped my money I got the letter on 8th feb sent evidence back on 12th feb n they stopped it on 26th march, looked for my first letter to find the deadline date but can't find it. Fingers crossed for you.

OP posts:
LotusLight · 29/05/2015 22:05

Morgan have they said why they stopped the money? You might have put it earlier on the thread but I've forgotten.

Kittykat60 · 29/05/2015 22:10

So if they do stop it Morgan could be just in time for kids school holidays, smashing. I m try to stay positive but it's hard when you know what other mums are going through, I take my hat off to you Morgan for staying so strong.

Morgan97 · 29/05/2015 22:30

Lotus they said they stopped it because they had insufficient evidence to prove I was single,I sent virtually the same evidence in 2012 and that was enough then!! Kitty try not to stress too much n no it's not easy for me to say,the best thing I can say to you is stock up with bits n pieces just in case the worse happens then at least you won't starve. Thank you Kitty for your nice words I'm not strong just have no choice

Morning everyone. Some good news for me, my payments went in as normal this month although I still haven't received their decision so Im cautiously optimistic but won't feel this is over till I do.
Reading back it looks like Concentrix haven't stopped payments , that seems to be those coming direct from Hmrc Compliance. I had a big check a few years ago from Compliance and waited 6 weeks for a decision and that came when my documents were returned. My award didn't need to be amended but it was so stressful. From then I kept every scrap of information I would need if they ever checked again because a lot of the stress came from scrabbling about looking for documents . I had everything to hand this time except my divorce papers which I eventually found. So ladies if and when you come out the other side of this nightmare, keep all your bills and statements filed away in case this happens again and they are easily accessible.
Morgan I hope you are coping as best you can in the meantime and you get all your payments backdated when this is resolved. Keep at them till it is.

Tango78 · 30/05/2015 11:53

Hello ladies that's wise words CiaraDon I also had a compliance check by HMRC Dec 2014 and had to send off all my docs it took about 4 weeks and they returned my docs and a letter saying no change so I was surprised when I received a letter at the end of April from Concentrix as it had only been 4 months since that check fortunately I too had saved my docs and the letter so didn't have to reprint. I spoke to concentrix yesterday morning for an update and the guy told me no decision had been made and there was a backlog he never mentioned that my paperwork was on its way back to me but it arrived back yesterday afternoon with a letter dated 5th May to say they will write shortly can't understand why there post takes so long I don't believe they posted my docs back until 27th which was my deadline date and if that's the case even if you send the docs back straight away like I did they make you wait until the deadline anyway! The waiting is a nightmare my payments are every 4 weeks so I'm now left wondering if I will receive the decision letter before my June payment or just wait to see if my money goes in. I really feel for Morgan I don't know how you're managing and don't think it's right that they can just stop everything it's disgusting so much for the government saying work should pay so you go to work as a single parent juggle work, bringing up children and a home and this is how we're treated. I can't believe that they can't see that too separated parents can be amicable for the sake of their children after all they're whats important when a relationship breaks down! Good luck to everyone hope we're not waiting much longer!

ciaraDon · 30/05/2015 16:33

Tango it just shows that Concentrix are checking most claims even though Compliance completed checks very recently.

ciaraDon · 30/05/2015 16:43

Tango, my payments also go in monthly. Ive had docs returned. My money went in today as normal although no decision letter yet. I think if you get docs back and they don't ask for any more information then you are in the clear. Keeping people waiting on decisions is not right. Just look at the anguish expressed here.

Morgan97 · 30/05/2015 19:34

Hi Tango78,I had the same in 2012 yet my evidence this time isn't enough apparently,I don't know how I haven't gone completely mad these last few weeks,it's taken over my life,I'm not sleeping properly or eating properly,my dd is my priority and even she's going without the smallest treat i hate this so much. I don't think hrmc and concentrix have a clue what they're doing!!

OP posts:
Tango78 · 30/05/2015 20:26

Thanks CiaraDon the letter didn't ask for anymore info so fingers crossed.
Morgan I don't understand why they won't accept your evidence now you carry on being strong you're doing a great job in extremely difficult circumstances. I hope you get some positive news soon and a large bank credit of back payment Smile

Morgan97 · 30/05/2015 21:43

I'm not holding my breath Tango, they just said the evidence wasn't sufficient enough yet it was exactly what I sent last time except for the dates obviously. They don't care bout the consequences of their actions and I have no choice but to carry on although I have to admit I've done a bit more crying than laughing over the last few days,it's getting to me a bit I'm just playing the waiting game now.

Thank you ciaraDon, they are bullying tactics, and that threat was enough to reduce me to tears. What I have discovered since feels somehow worse, these over-the-top and outrageous fines have not been concocted by Concentrix – these fines are actually enshrined in our legislation – an Act of Parliament that was approved… all Concentrix are doing is informing us of the powers of the law and enforcing it. Now, I cannot believe (well….) that an Act of Government would be developed specifically to target income generation from the most vulnerable members of society… but that’s what we have. Tax Credits Act 2002. www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2002/21/part/1/crossheading/penalties

Hi GoGetGo, I made an error on mine too, I failed to tell them about increasing the care because I was ill. Im writing to them actually write now, with an explanation and apology and im going to submit as much evidence as I can to prove my story (GP sick notes, DV risk assessment etc) and all my bank statements and invoices for care, and hope they see it was an honest mistake (song in there somewhere!) and take pity. Panic over – take charge and be honest with them. There’s no other option really, deep breath….

RagingJellyBean - I was told when I applied for Tax Credits that maintenance didn’t count and ive just checked the guidance, it says that maintenance payments (child support or payments under a divorce settlement) are not taken into account for tax credits. You will be able to have the full use of any maintenance that you get in addition to your tax credits. Phew – because I just realised I never told them my ex had (finally) started paying maintenance.
