Low Income Tax Group.

jgrn7030 · 27/05/2015 22:18

www.litrg.org.uk/ Contact them, all of you. Tell them what has been done. Sometimes they ask to use your case as a test case to present to HMRC.

bunchoffives · 27/05/2015 22:18

Why don't you try petitioning the court Morgan?

I don't know much about it, but I have seen it done at work. AFAIK they go to the court and get a form which basically asks what the problem is and who you want to bring a case against. I think you have to say what you want to claim (money owing + costs).

It can't hurt, would make you feel better and would make them sit up and take notice I bet.

I think if you go to your nearest county court there are ppl there who might explain the process or give you leaflets telling you. I think that's your only course of action if even your MP hasn't worked so far.

Got my letter this morning and I think I've fucked up big time Confused

Mines is the childcare one. Had new baby (DD2) in November, updated all fine. My childcare costs were £27 pw until DD1 got a place at the funded nursery in January. Taken into hospital and stayed for 3 weeks, during this time tried calling HMRC wrt nursery but no national insurance number to update with in hosp.. My mind was in a horrible place too, drugged up day and night, in constant pain, couldn't walk or take myself to the toilet, and had a newborn to look after in hospital with me.

I went on entitled to and because of mat pay my income had dropped so low (which I also obviously hadn't updated on) that it all balanced itself out if that makes sense? So come the renewal in April I thought I'd just tell them childcare had stopped in Jan, but wages were significantly lower for that tax year than the predicted amount they were using anyway so I would probably have been underpaid if anything.

Now I'm absolutely terrified I'm going to get done for fraud and slapped with a huge fine. Can't believe I've been this stupid, I did my renewal the other night and corrected all my info.

The letter refers to a leaflet enclosed but I didn't get one? Also, it doesn't ask for anything document wise, just a form type thing to fill in is this normal?

God what an idiot Sad if I thought I was being overpaid I would have obviously tried harded to update. No one to blame but myself, does anyone know what they do in these types of situations? It obviously looks like I've been caught out and was going to keep it covered up but I really wasn't!

Morgan97 · 28/05/2015 07:55

Hoping someone is around to help!

I'm in a panic now and I'm actually coming out in sweats over this! I got a letter through about childcare charges and I sent everything they needed and JUST missed the deadline - but I've realised I sent the bank statements in CSV format which is like a spreadsheet... and now I'm panicking that my payments are going to stop because they won't accept that as a bank statement? Do they accept printed bank statements from online? Like, a full statement but printed out from online? Please tell me they accept this I can't deal with having to go to the bank and get statements printed from them it costs money!! :(

ciaraDon · 28/05/2015 14:43

As you have sent everything I would leave it till you hear back from them. If they return your documents without asking for anything additional then they've accepted your bank statements. It is a bloody worry until then and unacceptable that we have all been put through the wringer over the way these checks have been (mis)managed.

ciaraDon · 28/05/2015 14:44

Morgan I hope you have some positive news soon.

GoGetGo · 28/05/2015 16:17

JellyBean what did your letter ask for if you don't mind me asking? I've checked and double checked and mines doesn't say anywhere what to send back! Due back 6th of June before payments "may" stop Confused

RagingJellyBean · 28/05/2015 16:20

GoGetGo,

They basically asked for copies of all the bills I had been given for childcare & bank statements to back this up!

I actually phoned them today to ask if what I had sent was good enough or if they needed something else - surprise surprise their system was "down for updates". The guy on the phone was nice & told me that because I had phoned to check I had sent the right things in, my payments wouldn't be suspended or stopped.

I just need to wait to hear back now I think?!

LotusLight · 28/05/2015 16:27

Raging's call does illustrate that doing what is asked, getting documents in early, getting all that is asked for, calling C or HMRC and letting them know what is going on, following up by post, keeping copies of letters all helps.

GoGetGo · 28/05/2015 17:19

Worrying even more now because they were all paid in cash I used to just transfer the money each month to my mums account who dropped her there in the morning. Confused

ferry78 · 28/05/2015 18:00

Hi am still waiting been a month since I sent my documents off -I haven't heard a thing - plucked up courage to ring Preston today (am useless on the phone) and the phone just rang and rang -my payment is due in less than two weeks (I get paid monthly) I don't know if I should just wait - morgan did they ask you for any other information before stopping your payments I really don’t know how you are coping - I really feel for you x
I feel like my life is on hold I can't sleep and am just waiting for the post each morning it’s all driving me mad.Sad

RagingJellyBean · 28/05/2015 18:15

My close friend has just been round in floods of tears - shes also been sent a Concentrix letter re a partner living with her & she managed to compile her evidence today & she's panicking because she gets £500 a month from her ex partner every month as (what I assume?) is maintenance and she hasn't declared it - she reckons it will flag up with them as he sends it to her via an old joint account.

I've told her about this thread as I have no idea what advice to give her Blush

Anyone got words of wisdom for her? She may join this later once she's left!

RagingJellyBean · 28/05/2015 18:17

Ferry - I feel awful for you. It says that the documents are sent back within a few days of receiving them? I sent mine away on Tuesday so I still have a while to wait yet!

ferry78 · 28/05/2015 18:47

I am now convinced that with the length of time its taken am going to get mine stopped - I have four children and I get no financial support off their dad or anyone –Their dad took off and lleft the country and has not paid a penny. I really will not be able to survive, I try and work as many hours as I can - But at the moment I have no motivation –I think the kids are fed up with me as I must be going round looking fed up all the time - I just want to hear something x

ciaraDon · 28/05/2015 19:18

Ferry was it Concentrix or tax credits Compliance who are checking your claim ?I had a big check by Compliance about 4 years ago and waited at least 6 weeks before I heard all was ok, payments went in as normal while waiting. This latest from Concentrix , my docs were returned after 2 weeks but I've had no decision yet , over 2 weeks later. My payment is due in on Saturday. I phoned them the other day and was told "no news is good news" and my payment should go in as normal so fingers crossed but I want this nightmare over with.

LotusLight · 28/05/2015 19:28

GoGet, if you paid your mother in cash a written statement where she confirms it is true will help coupled with writing to the nursery to have them photocopy their records showing your mother paid £xxx over the relevant period is evidence. The nursery for its tax records presumably has to keep records of the children there and who pays what.

Morgan97 · 28/05/2015 20:49

Thank you ciaradon, not heard nothing yet.ferry no they didn't ask for anything else other than what I'd sent them, they stopped my money without even telling me I only found out cos I checked my bank,I got the letter saying my claim had stopped two weeks after that. I went to the CAB and they sorted out a couple of food parcels but I'm getting deeper and deeper in debt now,it's been nine weeks since they stopped my money, two weeks since I sent my mandatory reconsideration.

My letter came direct from the HMRC from a compliance officer and asked for documents from the begining of this year - post been today and nothing I dont think I can ring today maybe wait until Monday Confused

izzy76 · 29/05/2015 12:38

Afternoon ladies i sent my paper work off yesterday but i missed something out does anyone have the address i sent it to please also do i sent my renewal to them to as i no longer have the envelope to send it back if not does anyone have the address if ifs not the same too thank you in advance

halo55 · 29/05/2015 12:53

I feel so down, came out in Hives yesterday? I understand Ferry, I too have 4 children and seem to walk round all day with barely a smile, just constant telling the kids not to use to much milk, loo roll etc or "why is this light on" Had to order printer ink from ebay to print the numerous documents they wanted which was the last thing I wanted to spend my money on. have done a covering letter to "Cuntcentrix" trying to explain how my complicated life ended up here but with little wording, also in bold added that I have made no error with my claim(s) and asked for all my documents to be returned (even photocopies) as they remain my property! Before I too endure my payments being stopped like so many of you struggling out there, I have taken the liberty to order some cardboard boxes to live in when we too end up in the gutter. Although it was not asked I have donated a litre of my blood and taken my kids fingerprints. think Ive covered everything? probably not.....Maybe a photo of my C-section scar???? May we all live in hope that these BS are brought to justice!

halo55 · 29/05/2015 12:58

izzy, concentrix address, PO BOX 4949, Lancing, BN11 9YS Phone: 0345 6003130, Good Luck!

Morgan97 · 29/05/2015 13:31

Ahhhhhh halo it's awful isn't it,try not to get too down Hun most of us are in the same position, shall we buy loo roll or bread? We all have been supporting each other on this thread and I know support doesn't buy us food but its so much better knowing that we are not alone. Shame on them doing this to us and our children

OP posts:
halo55 · 29/05/2015 14:04

I agree morgan, we all face what to buy or not! it is great to have this thread and know we are not alone......but then that makes me even more sad/angry its not the odd random generic check on circumstances, i'ts a blanket cull of those in need. I ran a construction company for years, employing people, paying vast amounts in tax & vat etc... infact in 1 month I had paid more to HMRC than I have had in two years from them? PARASITES!!! Maybe we need to contact someone like Panorama, so they can go undercover and see how Concentrix earns commision based on poverty! They probably avoid corporation tax also like starbucks! Shame on them indeed.
