Good luck ciara,I'm way too stressed to ring them ill end up crying or swearing or both n wouldn't give them the satisfaction.

ciaraDon · 26/05/2015 13:23

Bloody hell just got through to be told systems are down and they can only answer general enquiries fgs !
The guy told me theyve been told to say that no news is good news if I wasn't asked for any more evidence when my docs were returned . It's a really unprofessional set up. So I've been told not to worry but Im no further forward.

ciaraDon · 26/05/2015 13:25

Morgan hopefully Admirals news might mean you can get this sorted too. It's terrible they can put people through this and the kids ultimately suffer.

Morgan97 · 26/05/2015 13:26

Unprofessional to say the least, they make us send stuff when they say yet haven't the decency to tell us what's going on shame on them putting us through this

OP posts:
Morgan97 · 26/05/2015 13:28

Yes ciare sits fab news for admiral, she's been waiting about the same time as me hope for us all but not holding my breath I've tried to be positive through this but it's wearing thin now I'm seriously thinking of leaving work now

cm965 · 26/05/2015 13:35

Hi ladies, this is my first post but have been following this thread ciaraDon, just wanted to let you know I got my documents back 6 weeks ago, never heard another thing until today receiving my renewal and all is fine. It seems to be from people I know in the same situation if they do not ask for anything else all remains business as usual. Hope this puts your mind at ease a bit.

AdmiralCLingus · 26/05/2015 13:45

I don't know what the payments are for... I'm scared to touch it in case its been some kind of mistake.

Its disgraceful that they cant even give some of us the decency of an answer one way or another and just leave us hanging on none the wiser Angry

We need to bring this whole thing to light and put the horrible torture we are all being put through out there so people know whats going on!!!!

MrsNextDoor · 26/05/2015 13:47

Does anyone else think this terrible crap is discriminatory? The majority of lone parents are female...the government allowing this witch hunt is seriously wrong. And it IS a witch hunt.

Morgan97 · 26/05/2015 14:04

Admiral have you tried ring the compliance team rather than hrmc? They might be able to tell you more and mrsnextdoor it certainly seems like some sort of witch hunt doesn't it!

OP posts:
ciaraDon · 26/05/2015 14:04

Thank you cm965 that helps put my mind at ease a bit.
Mrs next door yes it is discrimination its lumping all single mothers in as benefit cheats even though we all work and bring up our families alone. A small percentage fit into this but not the majority of us. It's shaming.
Admiral spend it if you need it you are entitled to it.
Morgan , chin up. I know its easier said than done but this will come right for you I know it x

GreenishMe · 26/05/2015 15:01

MyPubes, I thought I had it bad having to send off everything for the past 12 months....but 2 years?? It's unreasonable to ask you to find and send that much sensitive information through the post to anyone.

I've just about got all my shit together but now I have to wait for my wages before I can send it off by registered post :(

Like someone said in another post this is turning into a witch hunt and I really hope the tables are turned on them in the future.

I've already posted this link but for anyone that missed it, it's the link to a petition against the witch hunters.

mimz87 · 26/05/2015 15:26

Right i finally got through and there system was up and running, the guy told me 'they weren't at the decision stage yet' whatever that means and they were still in the process of just gathering information, so there's reassurance for you eh!!!!! Anyway he did say he could close mine off but i wouldn't receive the confirmation for a few weeks so i'm guessing it's all ok which does prove they can sort it on the phone so don't be fobbed off guys!!

Morgan97 · 26/05/2015 15:35

Ooooh good luck mimz, like I said before I really don't want to ring them n give them the satisfaction of losing it on the phone, happy days eh

OP posts:
LotusLight · 26/05/2015 15:54

mim, that sounds like positive news.

HMRC often want bank statements for tax payers for quite a few years unfortunately and always have done. That does not make it easy for tax payers of course.

mimz87 · 26/05/2015 16:27

Yeah it sounds positive but i'm left with a bad taste in my mouth with the whole thing, the way a lot of us are getting treated and all the injustice that's going on.

Morgan97 · 26/05/2015 16:37

It's good that some of us are getting positive news, like you mimz I've got a bad taste in my mouth about all this, their demands on us single parents are disgusting, they turn our lives upside down with the press of a button and don't think about the consequences of their actions

I too got the letter last week and panicked after reading about concentrix. I've been on my own with three children for the last 6 years. The father of my children is still named on the mortgage and the odd letter comes here for him. Concentrix have asked for mortgage statements and 12 months worth of utility bills, ct statements etc which are all in my name (except mortgage). He did have a bike insurance registered here but he sold it last year. Also letters still come here for the old owners (I've owned the house for over 12 years!) they've also asked for divorce papers - I've never been married! And the children have my name. We haven't got anything in writing about child maintenance as we have always been amicable. I've sent the paper work off as requested, but now concerned they won't believe meme after reading the posts about them on the web :(

AdmiralCLingus · 26/05/2015 19:56

dribble dont let them bully you about your maintenance agreement. The .gov website states that parents are entitled to make their own agreement and it does not have to be in writing (I used this as part of my evidence as they tried to tell me what we had wasnt acceptable and needed to be done "properly").This was backed up by a solicitor that I saw, who told me they are actually breaking the law by asking. I found this form and used it to make it more "formal" as it were, but why the hell should we have to?

Have signed the petition too

Kittykat60 · 26/05/2015 21:27

Ahh so pleased for you admiral! Bet you don't get an apology though.

Morgan97 · 26/05/2015 22:47

She won't get an apology KittyKat don't be silly cause that will mean them admitting they made a huge mistake awww it's good news for her fingers crossed for everyone

Hi all. Hope you dont mind me dropping in here. Got my letter today and just burst into tears. They are saying they believe ive been getting too much tax credits and risk fine upto £3000. Im no fraud, ive always been honest and jumped through evefy hoop... but I have dyscalculia and now im scared ive done something wrong thats going to have huge implications on me and my sons quality of life (meagre that it is). I cant pay £3000...It would make us homeless (we live in 1 bed flat)...I would loose my job. What on earth is with these people?
Sorry for rant im just at wits end struggled through court this year already and dv assessments. Cant believe ive just got through all that n now these immoral lot are threatening me with that! Has anyone else been threatened with fines? Was it ok or did they go through with it? How can they justify £3000 as proportionate to not realising there was a mistake on payments? Xx cant sleep for worry xx

Morgan97 · 27/05/2015 07:57

Hi sunflower, please don't worry too much, what is the £3000 for is it an overpayment? Have a read through this thread some posts might be able to help you,I believe that if it is a genuine overpayment they don't ask for it back all at once but a lot of us on here are single ad are being accused of living with a partner! Therefore some of us have had our money stopped and having to prove we are single. There will always be someone on here to offer support.
