With regard to how they handle overpayments I think it is in exactly the same way as HMRC. They are acting on behalf of HMRC and will be working with the same rules.

So however HMRC dealt with it it should be the same.

babyalan13 · 08/06/2015 08:55

Was just thinking to myself last night why is it only working people being targeted seems bit unfair!!! When you think the amount of people not working is claiming child tax credits!! As I said are we better of not working!!!

nikkif80 · 08/06/2015 11:45

Still not heard yet will ring them later this week! My phone bill was huge for May! Ringing concentrix tax credit and car insurance !

nikkif80 · 08/06/2015 11:46

They said to me they write for more info etc but that worries me more as my first letter took 3 weeks to arrive!

nikkif80 · 08/06/2015 11:49

I think they target people who claim working tax credit cause people who don't work surely only get child tax credit and they can surely check what benefits people are on! So I'm assuming they have nothing to prove.

I'm not sure how else they can check childcare a good thing maybe would be to pay the nursery direct from hmrc that way no one can claim childcare and pocket the extra.

Kittykat60 · 08/06/2015 12:27

But what if you have no more info to give them nikki? Is this when they stop your money like Morgan, I've read a few people have simply been told they are lying n they stop their payments on the basis we aren't telling the truth. This gets more stressful the longer it goes on.

nikkif80 · 08/06/2015 13:27

I don't know what happens now I've only dealt with hmrc before concentrix might be different.

I think child care checks are easier to prove

ciaraDon · 08/06/2015 14:41

Ive still not heard anything. Wonder how Morgan got on hope it's good news. Ladies I know it's hard but don't panic. The waiting is stressful but if they haven't asked for anything else since receiving your first docs then in most cases it seems to turn out okay although they work at a snail's pace....I honestly think they are hoping to stress/ scare people out of claiming tax credits or renewing them. Stick to your guns , we have done nothing wrong .

KCsMommy2610 · 08/06/2015 15:37

Hi All,

I had received the childcare cost letter a couple of weeks ago. They asked me to provide bank statements, invoices and/or receipts. If I can't provide those, I must get a statment from my childcare provider. I have 2 providers. As I'm a nurse, I work crazy hours. I pay cash for one and standing order for the other. If I had known that I was going to be investigated for this, I would have kept all my receipts. Instead, I will get my providers to write a letter documenting my costs. I hope this will be ok. Also my son has had a few changes to childcare which is where I think the problem lies. I have been totally honest and have kept HMRC up to date all the way through.

Kittykat60 · 08/06/2015 15:47

Think we are all on tenterhooks until Morgan posts the news, I think she has been through enough now.

babyalan13 · 08/06/2015 16:23

Think were all waiting for Morgan to post!!; first thing I checked when I came home from work!!

Sloulou88 · 08/06/2015 18:19

good luck morgan thinking of you

on the other note why is my renewal taking so long :(

Morgan97 · 08/06/2015 18:31

Well ladies its bad news, they WON'T accept my evidence, the same evidence they accepted in 2012! I'm in bits thank you all for your support. Not sure what to do next to be honest. Feeling sad

Take legal advice and sue Morgan. You should qualify for legal aid. The absolute bastards.

LynB73 · 08/06/2015 18:40

So sorry to hear your news Morgan97

ferry78 · 08/06/2015 18:47

Morgan thats terrible I feel so bad for you -i have been waiting all day hoping that everything was going to work at well Sad

Sloulou88 · 08/06/2015 18:49

Oh no so sorry to hear this :( what bow then???xxxx

Tango78 · 08/06/2015 18:54

So sorry to hear it's bad news Morgan. I think you need to seek legal advice or cab and I do think you need to appeal as the onerous is on HMRC to prove that you are not single. In the meantime though I think you need some advice on how you continue to manage without your payments.

babyalan13 · 08/06/2015 19:03

Omg that's awful am really shocked. What did they say? But surely your entitled to child tax credits

flumposie · 08/06/2015 19:48

Sorry to hear that, disgraceful what they are doing. I am waiting to hear from them, five weeks now

Kittykat60 · 08/06/2015 19:52

God Morgan. So, so sorry, I had high hopes they would sort it for you, I can't believe they can leave you in this situation, I hope we can all rally round and come up with alternate ideas but I bet you've already thought of them Morgan. Xx

babyalan13 · 08/06/2015 20:00

Any ones else's payments stopped?! This is getting worrying :(

Kittykat60 · 08/06/2015 20:45

There's been, quite a few baby,! I'm not holding out any hope at all with these idiots deciding our fate! We ll all be on income support n jobless next!

Scousejo1967 · 08/06/2015 20:47

Morgan appeal there's a Facebook page called beat the bailiffs and the banks they have just helped a friend of mine to do an appeal. The onus is on them to prove you're part of a couple not you to prove you're not. An appeal is done by an independent panel you Wil have more chance with them . They are obviously hoping you will let this go keep fighting

ferry78 · 08/06/2015 20:50

My payments are due Wednesday ( I get paid monthly) it's been 6 weeks since I sent my evidence - my letter was from hmrc - am so worried am going to be in the same situation as Morgan as she had her money stopped two weeks before she had the letter telling her they had stopped her payments !!!
