Great news Admiral im glad some of you have had good news. so sad to see new people joining eachday some one must stand up and take notice of how we all are being treated! i know for sure once my battle with them is over i shall be writing a long blog post about it all and the way we have been treated as law breakers

ciaraDon · 02/06/2015 15:35

Everyone seems to be having different time frames Kitty as they really dont seem to have an efficient method for dealing with the vast number of people they are checking.
I wont forget the stress and anxiety this has put me under even if and when mine turns out ok. I will be breathing a sigh of relief but I wont be forgetting about it. If enough people complain about our treatment , even those whose outcome is ok, then they can't target us again in this manner. They need to change the wording and tone of those letters and the ectent to which they can pry into very personal information. Im all for providing information to show my entitlement to tax credits but only where it is relevant.

ciaraDon · 02/06/2015 15:37

Well said Izzy !

Kittykat60 · 02/06/2015 16:21

We'll said Clara and izzy !

Sloulou88 · 02/06/2015 16:45

On the other thread someone mentioned the red line means concentrix will investigate you!? Are we any clearer if this is true?

ciaraDon · 02/06/2015 16:50

Red line ? I must have missed that what's that about ? From what I can gather they will be checking EVERY claim at some stage because they only gain financially themselves if they save Hmrc money. Single parents and low income families and those with child care costs are being checked first.

ddigital · 02/06/2015 17:06

The Red Line on Renewals is to indicate you can claim online or by paper.

I'm disabled and self employed and have been targeted by them as well (sent half a kilo of paperwork to them yesterday after receiving the threat letter Saturday) Been very stressed and ill since.

Sloulou88 · 02/06/2015 17:27

Ah I see! someone said it meant that you would get investigated (on the other thread! So I was assuming the worst!

What is classed as low income families, I thought the point of tax credits was it was for people on low income!

ddigital im so sad to hear you have been targeted. I hope you get this sorted. Did you get targeted once you submitted your renewal. Try not to stress too much, It wont help :)

Tango78 · 02/06/2015 17:52

Hi all I had a red line on my renewal and I renewed online. I had already received my renewal pack and renewed online and then received my letter from Concentrix about a week later. I got my docs back last Friday just waiting on a decision now.

ciaraDon · 02/06/2015 18:16

Slou , the lowest income families who get the max amount of tax credits as opposed to those who maybe only get a few pounds a week in credits. If I didn't need the money I really would not claim at all because it's a hellish cycle to be trapped in.

babyalan13 · 02/06/2015 18:37

I submitted my renewal then 3 weeks after I received letter from concentrix! Any one else the same? So I couldn't post renewal with my information!!

GreenishMe · 02/06/2015 18:46

I agree with Izzy and Clara - I decided the day I received my letter that whatever the outcome for me, I won't be forgiving and forgetting this treatment.

The Government needs to be forced to explain itself - to us - and I hope when the shit hits the fan it causes the downfall of Cameron, the Tories and Concentrix. It's only what they deserve.

Here's the link to the petition again for any who missed it.

ddigital · 02/06/2015 18:54

I renewed mid April, after filling my Self Assessment on-line on the 6th April. I rang up HMRC last week to ask if they had received my renewal by post as it had been some time and not heard anything, they said they had received my renewal on the 24th April and not processed it yet, then Saturday the brown envelope with the threats in arrived. The Low Income Self Employed seem to be a major target they want to cut down before UC rolls out to replace Tax Credits so they can make the figures look good come April 2016. (Universal Credit is a whole headache in the making for anyone Self Employed and frankly seems unworkable and designed to punish people even more.)

I've been a declared active online trader since 2009 selling via Amazon/Ebay and other places for 16 hours a week, Now according to the national press HMRC seem to be playing on both sides of the fence with people in my situation. If you make a profit and you file a tax return your considered a business but the people on the Tax Credit side of things want to claim what your doing is no more than a Hobby.

ddigital · 02/06/2015 19:00

I also forgot to add the letter I received on Saturday was dated 5th of June so I can only assume it's travelled in time or the person running the computer printing these letters was drunk.

GreenishMe · 02/06/2015 19:05

God help us

handsoff5 · 02/06/2015 19:09

just a quick question as i am having a stupid moment! what are they actually looking for in all the evidence we send in? how does that prove anything? how does that show who lives in your household? my niece transfers money into my bank every month so as i pay her phone bill... that doesnt mean that she lives with me?????

ciaraDon · 02/06/2015 19:16

They are looking to see if all bills are paid for by you alone and also any unexplained income going in regularly. Put a covering note on anything they may ask you to explain.

mumdad5 · 02/06/2015 19:17

Babyalan13 ive done the same submiited my renewal by post because last year i did it online was sent two renewal packs renewed again on line as told to by hmrc on phone then money stopped rang up n said that you renewed on line with the wrong notice number !!So i thought this year ill just send it off in the post now ive got the concentrix letter so i panicked today n thought ill ring hmrc to see if they received my renewal but automated says they are running behind cant check til after 18 june n concentrix want info by 25 ! Arhhhh its so difficult to get any info x

GreenishMe · 02/06/2015 19:25

I phoned HMRC today for the same reason...wanted to be sure that when I renewed over the phone in April - I really had renewed - because the C letter was saying I needed to renew (??)

Only way I got to speak to someone real (after 40 minutes of waiting) was by lying to the automated voice about why I was ringing and not speaking clearly enough.

ddigital · 02/06/2015 19:34

The letters are totally generic cut and paste jobs, mine ask for documentation for any vehicles used for business even I though I can't drive (I have a provisional licence for ID only)

Sloulou88 · 02/06/2015 19:42

Self employed husband ...low income (well he was self employed last tax year) yay I guess I will just wait for the letter then hahah! Nothing to hide we have told them all so don't know why I'm so stressed!!!

GreenishMe · 02/06/2015 19:51

Sloulou you would think if you've been honest there's nothing to worry about, wouldn't you? But I'm very worried, not because I'm doing anything I shouldn't be - but because I've got no confidence in the people dealing with it.

Who are they? I have visions of a newly employed 18 year old sifting through my life and deciding my fate.

Sloulou88 · 02/06/2015 19:56

I think that exactly is what I'm worried about :( ive not even had a letter yet haha! I do worry about the smallest thing though! Cxx

babyalan13 · 02/06/2015 20:03

I am the same!! So worried. Any ones else's payments stopped???

babyalan13 · 02/06/2015 20:04

I've sent all my stuff of. But am worried now about my bank statements I sell the odd thing on eBay just stuff like old clothes. Maybe make a couple of pound will they pull me up on that??
