You don't need one of these so called specialist firms to do it.

I have received an offer of £4221 from M&S in the post this morning.

All it took was a letter asking for my original signed application and then a claim form.

I started the process on 30th October and received my offer today for the cost of some paper and a couple of recorded delivery envelopes.

I am still waiting to hear from a couple of other lenders but what a fantastic start to the weekend.

Oops sorry mummydays I completely missed your posts. Yep, looks good to me. Send it recorded delivery aswell so that they claim they didn't receive it

mummydays · 10/10/2012 18:52

Thanks Tequila and awaywego, I will get it posted tomorrow....and then I will wait with everything crossed!! I dream of clearing debts and if this works it could make my life sooooo much better.

Best of luck with your payments. Hope they come through soon.

SH05GVY · 10/10/2012 20:34

Hiya Tequila. I was quoted a cheque number and amount for some reason. Thanks for email details. If no cheque 2moro will be emailing a demand for immediate cash transfer into my bank account Hmm

TequilaMockinBird · 10/10/2012 20:53

Good luck mummydays!

SH05, I already tried demanding the bank transfer. They aren't allowed to do that though apparently Hmm, it has to be cheque.

Will keep everything crossed that Mr Postman brings your cheque in the morning. Meanwhile I'm off to now tackle Capital One who I'm also still waiting for a cheque from Angry

TequilaMockinBird · 10/10/2012 20:55

Just googled on my phone. It's Vikram Pandit. Obviously separated by a full stop in the email address.

unity156 · 11/10/2012 00:57

hey tequila and sh05 hope you both get your cheques soon as promised. I phoned citi today to see what stage they were at with my cheque and apparently they requested it on the 8th oct so 15 working days after that I apparently should get it!!!
I then questioned them over another loan I had with them from 2001 to 2003, I had put in the forms at the same time as the other loan but have not received any acknowledgement of them receiving it. they say they cant generate anything for it as it is too old. i have sent them copies of agreement and account number so we shall see. the loan had ppi front loaded for £3800 so I think i need to work on this one!!

Shakey1500 · 12/10/2012 18:28

Well done Thanks

Been following (and posting) on this thread for a while. Someone upthread asked about Barclays (Barclayloan). I also had my request refused, alongside claiming for PPI on a Barclay overdraft. The Ombudsman details came in the refusal letter.

So my claims are now in the mile long queue the hands of the Ombudsman and will take about 47 years a year.

TequilaMockinBird · 12/10/2012 19:01

Shakey, that's strange, we got DH's overdraft PPI back without any hassle at all. In fact it was one of the quickest ones.

What was their reason?

oooggs · 12/10/2012 19:07

I really must do this, no idea where to start or to beginning even thinking of which loans or credit cards I have had in the past 15 years!

Shakey1500 · 12/10/2012 19:14

Tequila Well it's strange really. In the refusal letter they don't actually stipulate what the reason for refusal is. Just a bland "After looking at xyz I can find no evidence of mis-selling" Confused Same letter for the Barclayloan also.

TequilaMockinBird · 14/10/2012 16:47

Very odd Shakey, good luck with the FOS, hope they sort it out for you Smile

Still no cheque here from Citi Angry

SH05GVY · 15/10/2012 00:09

Tequila. Hope you get your call 2moro to confirm cheque on route via Recorded Delivery. Ask them to Courier cheque to your place of work Grin

TequilaMockinBird · 15/10/2012 07:47

I bloody better get either a cheque or a call today or I'll scream!

I work from home so as long as they send recorded today I should get it tomorrow. Please God.

TequilaMockinBird · 15/10/2012 14:46

Citi just rang. They have the cheque there and will send it out by recorded delivery. I should therefore receive it tomorrow.

SH05GVY · 15/10/2012 17:21

Breath Tequila Breath 2 more sleeps before my cheque clears...........It best not bounce else I'll be getting Cameron to declare war on the US. Look forward with anticipation to your next update Hmm

unity156 · 15/10/2012 21:45

Hey tequila hope you get your cheque tomorrow. i think i may ring citi just to remind them that they authorised my cheque on the 8th october and to remember its fifteen working days after that that I should get it.!!!! they still havent aknowledged my other complaint!!
SH05GVY enjoy spending your money in a few days!!

SH05GVY · 15/10/2012 23:13

Hi Unity. Was cheque Authorised or Ordered. Sorry to sound faceious but Citi are serious hard work. If Ordered, dont expect cheque to be raised for another week at least but then do as Tequila did and email the top notch. They may just live upto the 15 working day target...Good luck.
