You don't need one of these so called specialist firms to do it.

I have received an offer of £4221 from M&S in the post this morning.

All it took was a letter asking for my original signed application and then a claim form.

I started the process on 30th October and received my offer today for the cost of some paper and a couple of recorded delivery envelopes.

I am still waiting to hear from a couple of other lenders but what a fantastic start to the weekend.

My egg loan is being sorted by egg and my old egg credit card is now with Barclays so they are sorting that.

Hopefully I will hear from egg soon as I sent the forms off mid April so 8 weeks has come and gone.

BlingBubbles · 26/06/2012 15:23

Grasshopper. I spoke to EGG yesterday and according to the lady on the phone my case was closed on 29 May and I should have received my letter by now, she is going to re-send it, hopefully I get it this week with some good news.

I would wait a week or two and then give them a call, just in case.

GrasshopperNchipmunk · 26/06/2012 16:11

Hmmm thanks Bling, that's interesting as they sent us a letter at the start of the complaint (acknowledgement and o questionnaire) that we didn't receive. I only know they sent it as they referred to it in a follow up letter. If we've not received anything by the end of the week I'll give them a call I think! I hope yours is good news?

BlingBubbles · 28/06/2012 22:15

Great news, I can't my letter from Barclays (used to be an egg account) they can't seen to find any evidence that I was or wasn't mis sold my ppi do they are upholding the claim and sending me £1800!! Woo hop do thrilled

Now to just wait to hear from egg about my loan Grin

BlingBubbles · 28/06/2012 23:02

Sorry about the typos, was feeling DD and typing at the same time, clearly not as multi talented as I though

sooperdooper · 29/06/2012 13:31

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooop

I just got a letter from Egg confirming the uphold my complaint and will refund me £9k :o :o :o

Oh my god, this will literally make so much of a difference, I can pay off my credit card, my overdraft, not be in the red every single month, I'm soooooooo happy - it literally took one letter and waiting 8 weeks

BlingBubbles · 01/07/2012 19:48

I have also received my letter, Barclays are giving me £1800 and egg £1200. Very happy yah!!!

GrasshopperNchipmunk · 01/07/2012 21:10

Booooooooo I'm still waiting on EGG, I got a letter last week saying that they are waiting for some records before making a decision, and I can wait or go to the ombudsman as its over the 8 weeks Sad

But on a good note, DH received over 2k in tax rebate yesterday! Nice surprise that was Grin

BlingBubbles · 04/07/2012 16:46

Barclays sent me a similar letter but I just decided to wait, then 2 weeks later they sent me their decision so it might be worth waiting.

Now I am just waiting for the cheque and bank transfer and then I can start spending Smile

mynotfinkso · 05/07/2012 10:11

We're waiting on a decision from Lloyds. They've just phoned and asked to speak to Dh but he's not here until tonight. Why would they be ringing? It's been about 6weeks since we sent in the claim. They won't speak to me because it's in his name. I think I might explode with curiosity before this evening!

yummc4ke · 07/07/2012 10:09

I came across this thread by chance, Ive never claimed for anything but times are hard and my brother said his friend got back 5k on a loan. So got me thinking ....
Ive had 3 loans 1 still has 3 years to pay but i dont think the current one has ppi as it says N/A do you think its worth just sending a form off anyway ?
I'm diggin out the paper work from the other 2 later but have a feeling I didn't have ppi on them.

I also have 3 credit cards virgin/ltsb/barclaycard they are all pretty much on there limit most the time around 4k on each. Ive had the cards for years esp the virgin one maybe as long as 6 years I don't know if they have ppi on them although on my ltsb has something about 0.5% premium PPI.

Has anyone had any luck with claiming from cards?
I am going to send off forms for everything I have like ive read in the thread it can't hurt to try.

Thanks.

IvantaOuiOui · 10/08/2012 11:59

I have started a ppi claim from my barcalys 1994-2004 this week, but thinking about it, how far can I go back with other ppi claims? I had a car loan about 1994ish - think it was with 'First' or actually 'Lombard' I can't remember - is there any way to find out? I do not have any of the paperwork now.

hopefullclaimer · 27/08/2012 21:29

YesIveNameChanged · 30/08/2012 10:23

Can anyone give me some advice about Dp's loan with LLoyds tsb. Trying to get the ball rolling with a PPI claim, but struggling to know where to start.

The original loan was taken out about 20 years ago (was paying PPI), he's had subsequent loans taken out since then that i think have either been added onto the original loan or have been used to clear the original loan and then give him so cash to play with IYSWIM. I've just spoken to the PPI compensation people at lloyds and they say DP needs a "product account number" to get the ball rolling.

However they wouldn't/couldn't tell me whether thats the account number on the original loan or subsequent loans etc. Whats concerning is that when i asked lloyds if they would be able to access all the information with one of the product account numbers they said they couldn't; so really dont want to give them the wrong information.

We did use the template on MSE and sent a cheque to try and get hold of all the information about the account but we never got any response (and to be honest we still wouldn't know which bits he could claim for or not)

As a bare minimum DP believes he's elegible for about 8 years worth of PPI payments (plus interest) as his situation hasn't changed in this time and when he went for a review at the bank recently they told him he didn't need to pay PPI as another cover that he has would have covered him anyway.

HelloDoris · 30/08/2012 10:29

Finally got my settlement back from Barclaycard for an original Egg credit card. They've offered me just over £2k which is fab. Makes maternity leave a little more bearable!

hi yesivechangedmyname.
now im new to this myself so in no means in the know but on sat just gone i went into my local tsb branch where th loans were taken out explained to the man at the cust service desk what i was doing and what i needed.
he then printed off a list of everything ive had with them that had my name n it ie single loans n joint loans now my claim is goin bk about 10 yrs but maybe a bit more as im just guessing from how old my son is now.
also it showed on list that they where 3 joint loans that all had the same product numb as this is how they used to do it bk then it would just have a /1 /2 /3 at the end hope thats of some help xx
oh i also took my passport in just incase they needed it n had to sign a lil bit of paper so he could check it was same as 1 on their records xx

hopefullclaimer · 30/08/2012 13:17

p.s the loans where used in the same way as yours from the sound of it ie money added at end on rolled on to another loan xx

whoneedstosleep · 31/08/2012 09:32

I've been inspired to enquiry about my previous credit cards & loan now!

Mine have been with sainsburys, virgin & rbs.
