Empty sac

Initially found at a private clinic sat and again today epu I have an empty sac no embryo inside. (6+6) Going back in a week to get re scan & my options anyone also going through this if you are maybe we can go through it together

I'm sat in the waiting room with the exact same results.

I'm not sure what will happen next for me as waiting for the doctor to call me in.

I've had stomach cramps all morning as well.

I'm sorry we're having to go through this.

Oh bless you! It's so tough I'm staying really strong. I find it fascinating that my body has probably re adsorbed the embryo. It's going to be a long week while they wait to re check me we can wait it out together knew there must be someone out there going through it too

As soon as I had the scan, I thought I'll post on here for anyone who had experienced the same and saw your post!

How are you feeling? Have you got any symptoms? Did they say anything about possible ectopic? She did say to me that we can't rule out ectopic.

They ruled out ectopic for me but initially they said it could be that because I'm testing positive but the pregnancy is in an unknown location PUL they call it. But they saw it's all in the right place today it's just not developed enough it's empty so it won't be successful

That is exactly how I feel!! It's the worst feeling ever esp if you know how it's going to end up :/

When I went last week, they said the same to me - Pregnancy in an unknown location! My HCG levels rised by 65% over 48 hours.

And HCG levels today were 32100 so I've got another scan next wednesday!
My HCG levels 7 days ago were 7884.

Did they check your HCG levels??

They did one blood test on Saturday but chose not to repeat it for some reason I didn't ask why so iv no idea about my blood results ........

but Whow that's a huge increase?? How did they explain that? Iv had lower abdominal cramps tonight similar to like growing pains but could equally be signs of incoming miscarriage iv no idea what to think but definitely still having all the pregnancy symptoms

I should have asked if the increase was a good thing and what it means but she called at 7pm - I was mentally and physically exhausted - I didn't even ask :/ As soon as I put phone down, I could think of 101 questions, I could have asked.

I had cramps all morning today out the blue! Have you still got them? No idea if these are growing pains or cramps from a pending miscarraige. No bleeding here either :/ I'm still feeling sick and tired.

@bluebutterfly8 least you got to know what your levels are now I want to know mine. I'm still off my food/ tired /crampy / nausea ect my stomach just feels like it's growing. I'm sat in bed eating chocolate and I'm obsessed with fizzy drinks. If I'd not had that early scan I'd be forgiven for thinking all was ok.

When i had my daughter I had no scan until 8 weeks I wonder what she looked like on internal ultrasound at this many weeks🫤 I'm so confused and deflated I don't want to think iv still got hope but it's just my symptoms are confusing and it's going to be a very long week until my next scan

You could give them a call tomorrow and see if they'll tell you..

I'm exactly the same as you with how you're feeling/symptoms. Honestly, it's so strange isn't it.

With my prev dc - I had my 1st scan at 12 weeks! That's true - wonder how they would have looked this early. The sonographer did mention that she would have expected to see 'something' more at this stage and it doesn't look good.

But then the doctor/consultant gave me hope lol not sure if to cry or laugh at this point. It's going to be a long week for both of us! If we need to talk or have a change of symptoms during the wait, we'll post on here. It'll be nice :-) I feel like DH is pretty useless at this point. I had a rant after my app about the whole situation - instead of consoling me - he thought it was the right time to research about ovulation/conception and come up with his own conclusion of what he thought was going on! Lol

When is your next scan? Let me know how it goes, mine's, Wednesday next week.

How many weeks are you? Iv had like sharp ish ovary pains but iv no idea why my stomach cramp and back ache I had yesterday has gone. I'm so confused about my body at the moment -what's it doing🙈😭

Do you think maybe if implantation happened late this can alter your dates dramatically I wonder if I'm as far along as I think I am. I totally guessed my ovulation date too. Maybe I'm just clutching at straws

@bluebutterfly8 oh my next scan is on Tuesday so yes a long bank holiday weekend to wait to see if the sac is still empty which I'm totally expecting it to be but we can help each other through the wait

I'm 6 weeks + 5 days - going by my 1st scan which measured me at 5 weeks..

I should be 8 weeks if we went by my last period.

But the consultant did say the implantation could have happened later so the dates can never be fully right at the beginning.. :/ So if I did happen around 2 weeks after my period then that should put me around 6 weeks :/

Omg my cramps have gone this morning too! Have you still got the pain around your ovarys? It could also just be our bodies growing, this is so so confusing!

My cramps are back it's low down it feels like period pain I'm not very hopeful today. Iv had to book some leave in for my job this morning and iv had to book it all for if I'm not going to be pregnant to be prepared because going off what the doctors say i think this will end up as a miscarriage pretty soon, sat there booking it all with stomach cramps. I don't think judging by the way I'm feeling I'll make it to that scan next week but I'm going to have paracetamol and rest for a bit

My cramps were lower down too yesterday, the dull ache is now back - it's all over my stomach.

I don't think I'll make it to next scan either, if I'm honest. The sonographer had no hope. It's the doc that sent me away with hope - so if anything goes wrong, I'll be devastated!

Yes 1st one iv never had a miscarriage before but I'm guessing it starts as if you're due on. I'll be devastated too. Just the way it goes. I'll keep you up dated and see how you're doing though. The doctors/ nurses/ private scan place no one gave me any hope and they know what they're taking about so I'm not going to keep my hopes up it's so hard 😞

I've had 5 which were over a year ago now. This is my first pregnancy since.

For me - it started of with really bad cramps and bleeding shortly after that. Literally, an hour or so after.

This pregnancy feels so strange - maybe, some miscarraiges do start with cramps a day or so prior.

I've started to get mild cramps in my lower abdomen.

Hope you're ok. It is devastating and heart breaking - so close to having another child :-(

@bluebutterfly8 oh right so you recognise all the signs then. Well I had some paracetamol and a rest then went out shopping they eased in so confused 🤷🏼‍♀️definitely feels like stretching now. I'm going to rest up the rest of the day until school pick up and take it day by day the cramps will probably come back soon do they come in waves?

I do but then all pregnancies are different so I've no idea what to expect but this one certainly feels different.

You were distracted whilst out whereas at home, everything feels so intense because that's all we're focusing on! I'm wfh so no escape for me today!

I agree, we need to take it easy, eat well and just take each day as it comes!

With the cramps, yesterday I had them all morning and then they finished of with a dull ache. Today, I had a mild start but then they stopped.

@bluebutterfly8 ok so to give us hope what did the doctor say to give you a glimmer of hope? I'm not sure I'm accurate with my dates and iv no idea how long implantation took so I'm all over the place with my calendar now

We might aswell hold on to hope as long as we can.

The doctor said to me considering my hcg had increased by 65% over 48 hours and the sac had grown nearly double the size from the week before - she thought these were good signs. She also did a examination to check my cervix which she said look nice and strong.

She said she thought it was a early early pregnancy and I was probably earlier than I suspected :/ The doctor and consultant both came to this conclusion.

However, the sonographer said it didn't look good and more than likely it was bad news from her experience.
But let's ignore her for now and keep positive until things turn and we'll worry about it as and when!

If you go by 2 weeks after your last period, how many weeks does that make you?

My last period was 2nd April ..2 weeks after that, this makes me 5 weeks today?

Ah they sound much more positive and the fact they did an internal cervix inspection too I didn't get any of this or quizzed on my dates, I just came out a bit deflated

@bluebutterfly8 and I'm impressed you already got to see a consultant about it! I just got sent home 🤣

That's so strange and insensitive. Our hospital is amazing when it comes to the Gynae/EPU depart! (Only departs I've had experience with tbf). So grateful they did all the checks. I asked the doctor if she would check my cervix and she instantly was ready and did within minutes. Such a gem!
It could have been my lucky day, I'm sure there'll be other docs/nurses who are not as compassionate lol

My last period was on 26 March.. and 2 weeks after made me 6 weeks yesterday!
In comparison, you're in a better situation than me so wishing you luck!

@bluebutterfly8 ok positive vibes. I really need to collect my daughter from school because I just sit going over it all in my head and googling 🙈I need to concentrate on something else it's all consuming isn't it. And I know it won't help one bit
