Hi ladies! Our last thread was automatically closed (again) because we reached the 1,000 post limit (twice!). I was hoping we would be able to start a new thread called First Pregnancy Post-MMC, but unfortunately we are not all quite there yet (BUT some of us are!! congrats!!!). I know we will all be pregnant someday soon and that this will end up being a lucky thread! In the meantime, I hope you will all join me as we continue on this journey together. You have all been an invaluable source of inspiration, support, and kindness for me and I want to thank you for making me feel less alone in this. This thread and the ladies on it have been a source of inspiration for me, which is why I created this blog to help other women find information and support after miscarriage: mcandbeyond.weebly.com/

About me, for any newcomers: 31 years old, first pregnancy ended in an MMC in February at 12 weeks (baby passed at nine), D&C the next day, found out five weeks later that it was a partial molar pregnancy and had follow-up with CX hospital until mid-May. Second early MC in April (we weren't supposed to be getting pregnant because of the molar, but didn't know about it at the time). Now TTC again nearly four months after the first MMC and so so ready for a baby!

36 days into cycle since natural miscarriage. I suspect chemical pregnancy as I had a positive and then it faded to negative in a week and symptoms gone. Now we wait lol driving me mad

Kiki061190 · 30/05/2019 21:13

@Rainbow8bubbles I’m so sorry! Have you had no sign of AF?

Rainbow8bubbles · 30/05/2019 21:34

@Kiki061190 no nothing and it's so confusing

Kiki061190 · 30/05/2019 21:38

@Rainbow8bubbles would this have been your first AF since miscarriage? I know it’s horrible feeling so disconnected with your body! I hope you aren’t kept waiting in limbo!

Rainbow8bubbles · 30/05/2019 21:55

@Kiki061190 yes I miscarried 36 days ago today. I then think I was briefly pregnant after ovulation but symptoms disappeared quickly now I'm in limbo

Kiki061190 · 31/05/2019 06:53

@Rainbow8bubbles I’m so sorry to hear that, fingers crossed AF comes for you and you can start the next cycle fresh. Have you been temping? I’m 22 days post miscarriage and no O yet so far xxx

Rainbow8bubbles · 31/05/2019 07:11

@Kiki061190 no I don't track anything I normally just trust that my body is doing what it's meant to do. I'm really struggling today feel so sad

Kiki061190 · 31/05/2019 07:27

@Rainbow8bubbles that’s totally understandable tho to feel that way! It seems a few ladies on here have had the same experience with a chemical pregnancy.

Catconfusion · 31/05/2019 07:41

I'm so sorry @Rainbow8bubbles it really is a hard f*#k going through two losses back to back. I hope AF/bleeding starts soon. Mine came when I'd normally expect a period. Even very early losses are traumatic. Let yourself grieve and do things that you usually enjoy. Xx

@Kiki061190 not sure what to say about cm but sounds like possibly O. I find CM generally confusing as it doesn't always mean o for me. I think hormone fluctuations can cause it too. Xx

I had an awful day yesterday. It just came out of nowhere when I'd been feeling better. I do wonder if it's the pre ovulation hormone fluctuation as I got another small rise today. Also I woke up with a dull ache in my side. My digital Opk has stopped working due to using 9 tests. It's saying I probably won't ovulate this cycle and has frozen. I'm a bit annoyed about that as clearly lots of women ovulate later in their cycles. Anyway we didn't manage to dtd yesterday due to me feeling rubbish but we did the previous day and will when DH gets home today at 1pm so should be covered. Xx

Good Morning all. Sorry for the silence, I'm in west wales (Newquay) for a few days doing surveys and have been busy. I have brought the DH along with me, so we enjoyed fish n chips along the harbour yesterday. Got back to the hotel at 7.30 and slept straight through until this morning! I have family coming down tonight, so heading home at lunch time. I'm pleased to be busy as I have a scan on Tuesday next week. Very nervous about this one as it's around the same time I lost the first, but I have also had a small amount of brown spotting on Tuesday this week, which stopped after 24 hrs. It's scared me, but know that I can't do anything either way. Fingers crossed that all is going well in there.

I really hope this is O for you @Catconfusion... keep the faith and try not to let the darkness creep in. When i let it creep in and it effects the whole day, i do get annoyed with myself as it's wasted energy. Take care xxx

Don't worry about the temp drop at 5dpo @sadtoday21 - this can happen with Oestrogen around this time. Has the temp gone back up today? Xxx

Your chart is looking good @bananamonkey xxx

Great news on the CM @Kiki061190 🙌🙌

Really sorry to hear about the CP @Rainbow8bubbles - take it easy on yourself

Thinking of you @AnnaMC214...when is the GP appointment? Xxx

Kiki061190 · 31/05/2019 08:18

I’m definitely going to pop out on my break today and purchase this digital opk ladies. I have the strips and they are quite hard to read!

sadtoday21 · 31/05/2019 09:09

@Amanda81 great to hear from you! It sounds like you are having a lovely time with DH. I can understand why you’d be nervous about the scan and the bleeding - I’ve read that a small amount of bleeding is normal and happens to lots of ladies so hopefully all is well in there! This pregnancy lark is so hard. I feel anxious about it all the time and it’s really hard to relax and let Mother Nature take over. I do have a large temp spike on my chart today, attached, but trying not to be too hopeful about it as it’s probably just hormones going a bit crazy as per usual. Dreading poas day next week - also on Tuesday. Fingers crossed for good news for us both and for @bananamonkey! Xxx

@Kiki061190 definitely get the digital OPKs - they are the only ones that work for me. Pricey, but worth it. I think CM can be a great sign of O. Looking back on my charts, I realised that if I had bded every time I saw EWCM, I would have caught O nearly every time. For me, CM is the best sign.

@Rainbow8bubbles I’m so sorry about the CP - the same exact thing happened to me and I know how hard it is. Hoping your cycle gets back on track soon.

@catconfusion yay for another temp rise! Hoping this is it for you and it sounds like you timed dtd well. Sorry you are feeling low - I often feel like this before O too and the stress of a delayed O doesn’t help. It’s really hard and I know I can’t say much to help but just wanted to give you a virtual hug.

Happy Friday ladies!

Catconfusion · 31/05/2019 09:44

Thanks @sadtoday Your chart is looking great. I'm not sure you could have done any more with regards to dtd as looks timed very well. Spikes are so confusing. Mine temps kept going up last time and it came to nothing so could go either way. If it's not a bfp it's a sign of good progesterone so hormonally speaking you're looking very healthy. Hopefully it's a bfp though for you this time.

I managed to get a reading from a new digital Opk in the end. I redid the test with second morning urine. Got another flashing smiley but have a feeling I'd have got a peak had the first test worked properly. At least there's not a cut off at 9 tests like I feared. I'm just going to dtd when DH is home and then hope for the best I think! Xx

Catconfusion · 31/05/2019 09:49

Thanks @Amanda81 I hope this is it too. Feeling a bit better today. Definitely think it's hormonal. Maybe the oestrogen drop before O.

It seems to me that like lots of aspects of ttc and early pregnancy, symptoms can be a good sign or a bad sign. The bleeding I had at 10 weeks wasn't the actual miscarriage and was unrelated as the sack was complete. It was just a cervical bleed which is really common. For some ladies it is a sign something is wrong.

It's good it stopped so probably just old blood. I can imagine it was really difficult to see and I hope you're ok. As you say there's nothing you can do and it's a fantastic sign you've seen a heartbeat. I've got my fingers crossed for Tuesday that all is ok! Xx

sadtoday21 · 31/05/2019 13:37

Thanks @Catconfusion! I'm not feeling too hopeful as I realised I normally get a rise on 6 dpo anyway. I guess we will see whether the temps drop back down tm or stay elevated. The wait is terrible and its really kind of getting me down as I don't think I've caught this cycle, and even if I have, there are so many things that could still go wrong. Sometimes ttc just feels too hard...

I'm glad you are still getting the flashy smileys and hope that this one is the peak!! Xxx

OP posts:
Catconfusion · 31/05/2019 14:32

I know @sadtoday21 it's so tough. Literally no way of telling until you can test. I have a feeling I'm Oing today as getting some sharp pains. DH was very pleased to get an afternoon session. Figure we're as covered as possible. Fingers crossed for both of us! Xx

Kiki061190 · 31/05/2019 21:14

Picked up that digital ovulation test ladies! Will give it a go tomorrow. Cycle day 22 and still no O but not expecting to see it till next week.

@Catconfusion that’s good that you’ve timed BDing well tho! Fingers crossed your temp shows O!

@sadtoday21 crossing everything for you! Don’t give up hope x

Catconfusion · 01/06/2019 08:02

I spoke too soon. Unfortunately it's a drop today. Could mean I'll get a rise tomorrow and it's a pre ovulation dip. I definitely have ovulation pain so I'm worried it's another false one. I have a history of polycystic ovaries so really worried the cysts are coming back. The last scan was clear so was hoping the problem has resolved itself 😞.

I hope you're all doing well today. Xx

Catconfusion · 01/06/2019 08:22

Forgot here's the chart...

Kiki061190 · 01/06/2019 08:36

@Catconfusion so sorry your cycle seems to be harder to predict! It must be frustrating. Fingers crossed for O for you over the weekend 💗

I took my digital ovulation test this morning and got a flashing smiley! I’m assuming this is good and means O should be on its way? How long do you ladies usually get flashing smileys for?

Catconfusion · 01/06/2019 08:49

Thanks @Kiki061190 it's very frustrating but hopefully will resolve soon as was day 36 last cycle.

The flashing smileys are very individual. I've just had 12 and still no peak. It means it's picking up oestrogen. The LH surge just before O causes the peak. Just see how you get on. It might not be too long for you! Xx

sadtoday21 · 01/06/2019 10:09

@Kiki061190 I had three flashy smiles and then a solid one - four overall. I think 2-6 is average, although some women can have 9+. Just bd as much as you can now, don't wait for the solid one (mine came after I O'd!).

@Catconfusion so sorry to see that temp drop. I really thought this cycle would be a bit more on track. That's a lot of flashies and a lot of bding again this month :/. How are you feeling? Just remember you always get there in the end, even if it takes a few more days! You will do it! Xxx

I also had a tiny temp drop today - still above the rest, but definitely not triphasic. It's looking more like my chart last month :(. Now 7 dpo and I guess this is the phase where I can actually start symptom spotting and not seem like a lunatic. I am not feeling well at all - but could just be coming down with a summer cold/sore throat. Only three more days to go now until testing and it feels like an eternity. If it is negative, which it probably will be, I'll try to put this ttc stuff out of my head until AF arrives. When are you testing @bananamonkey - as you must be 9 dpo now? haha sorry I'm symptom stalking you, desperate for some company in this terrible TWW.

OP posts:
Catconfusion · 01/06/2019 10:43

Thanks @sadtoday21 it's so frustrating. I'm trying to stay positive but these long cycles are giving us far less chances than a normal couple would have. What's worse is there's no specific reason for it. It's making me feel a little powerless. I guess it could be that the Inositol needs a bit longer to help. Or maybe I'll just O tomorrow and it's the dip before the rise. I've given up with the digital opks. It seems to me a common problem for them to miss the peak or find it too late. The flashing smileys are not really that helpful as most women will get them early in their cycle regardless of when the LH surge comes.

I guess just try not to read too much into your chart. Pregnancy charts often look normal and have no signs until the positive test. Not long until you can test! I really hope it's a pleasant surprise! Xx

bananamonkey · 01/06/2019 10:54

@sadtoday21 I also had a little dip today and just horrific skin but no other symptoms, was wondering whether to test tomorrow? Although feeling it’s pretty unlikely

@Kiki061190 this is my first month with digital ones and I got 7 days of flashies which I think is less common, I found these stats helpful
